Zenoss is full fledged monitoring system, quite extensive in design and deployment
What do you like best about the product?
Monitoring Software, using MicroService Arch.
What do you dislike about the product?
Hard to TroubleShoot, and fix the issue. Over a Long time running stability of the product reduces. Many option are not easily customizable. Like if I do not want certain set of Process been detected by a Device, it is quite hard to customize the ZenPacks.
Further it is not clear which Metrics/ and Monitor are done by which ZenPacks and so on....
In Short, quite harde to troubleshoot.. and fix a issue.

Managed Services Enterprise System Management at Presidio
What do you like best about the product?
With Zenoss Service Dynamics we're able to monitor physical, virtual and cloud infrastructures from a unified platform. Seems to have scaled well in supporting data, devices, and users. This tool really helps our MS Data Center team manage Presidio's internal systems; in particular, our Data Collection Appliances (DCAs) and Linux jump servers. Presents a wealth of valuable information on any device: overview, events, component health, performance graphs, configuration properties, views, and network maps. All very helpful for diagnosing problems and root cause analysis.
Our MS Data Center team uses the Zenoss Incident Management Integration Service with ServiceNow for service monitoring and component monitoring. The Monitoring Automation section of ServiceNow provides detailed device information and resolution information gathered from the Zenoss collector that we use to troubleshoot the incident.

What do you dislike about the product?
Maybe needs stronger Layer 3 topology and more development for monitoring storage systems.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We've seen improvements in monitoring since migrating from Nimsoft hub to the Zenoss collector. The event, utilization, and performance monitors aids us in analyzing service health and accelerates MTTR and RCA identification. Good Cisco UCS monitoring!

Zenoss is a great Company
What do you like best about the product?
Infrastructure monitoring is a key in today's world and Zenoss has taken it to the next level with it's custom development packs.
What do you dislike about the product?
Unfriendly GUI interface, NEEDS MORE IMPROVEMENT WITH GUI.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Monitoring our company's infrastructure in more better and efficient way which delivers a good result.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
it's great to use but needs more GUI improvement for ease of access.
Intelligent in-depth metrics without the hassel
What do you like best about the product?
Metricly makes it very easy to integrate into your systems. Even for our application servers we can have an additional layer of metrics that give us insights to the main language we build our apps in. Also - we pretty much paid for our account our first year by using Metricly to determine where we were overpowered.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the metrics are 'intelligent' as they have a way of calculating a baseline. This took a bit to get used to as this is a proprietary feature that is quite useful. So not really a dislike, but more of something to get used to.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use a cloud provider for the majority of our infrastructure. The provider gives us metrics but we wanted to aggregate them all into one view. Metricly allowed us to do so. But more importantly, we also got deeper insight into our infrastructure.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you have any questions their team is awesome and friendly. Even the sales team was very good - not too buggy.
Great tool for staying on top of dynamic infrastructure and apps
What do you like best about the product?
Modeling to discover changes in the environment as well as discovery of relationships to offer a full view up and down your stacks.
What do you dislike about the product?
The fact that you have to place a whole host into maintenance not just the components you are working on can be a tough feature to do without especially if your org already had it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are able to stay on top of change in apps and infrastructure without a ton of Ops involvement.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
While not a requirement at all to know python to use this product it will open up alot of opportunities for extending its use.
A decent systems and network monitoring tool
What do you like best about the product?
The layout and configurability is a little easier than using something like Nagios and the UI with graphing is definitely more friendly at a glance.
What do you dislike about the product?
Scalability of Zenoss when using a large number of complex monitors with a large number of nodes is still questionably. We have seen odd behaviour when reaching into the thousands of nodes.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Systems uptime and reliability monitoring and prediction are the problems we are trying to solve.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
You should probably consider all your needs before going with any type of network and systems monitoring tool to see if they fit your environment.
Servers Mapped out
What do you like best about the product?
The graphical interfaces available for server and database planning helps make IT easier.
What do you dislike about the product?
The graphics do seem dated and can be clunky.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Network communication in the organization is allowed
Recommendations to others considering the product:
As it is open source make sure to take advantage of third party applications and plug ins to receive the full experience
