What is our primary use case?

I have used Uplevel to enhance code quality, which in turn reduced defects for a telecom client.

Uplevel analyzed the client codebase and identified the technical debt, code smells, and areas with high complexity. It helped reduce defects through defect prediction and improved code quality.

Uplevel's machine learning algorithm analyzes historical data and predicts that specific modules in a client application have a high likelihood of defects due to complexity and recent changes. Due to this capability, the development team focuses on high-risk modules, conducting thorough code reviews and testing to mitigate potential defects. With this approach, the team identified and addressed more than five critical defects, which likely reduced production issues and improved overall application reliability.

How has it helped my organization?

Production issues have decreased significantly and helped our organization level up.

The overall time required for code reviews and fixing bugs has decreased. Because this time went down, it helped the team focus more on code instead of worrying about bugs and code review times.

I have seen that time is definitely saved and the tasks that four developers would do have been cut down to just two, as Uplevel already performs code reviews and helps with bug defect identification.

What is most valuable?

Uplevel offers an AI-powered platform with machine learning algorithms that help with defect predictions and other predictions.

Uplevel is helpful in reducing human error. It helps reduce human effort and also reduces the number of defects that come when the product goes live in production.

What needs improvement?

Uplevel has reached a level of near perfection. However, there are parts that can be improved, including integration with more tools, enhancement of AI-powered insights, and customizations that can be protected. It can also provide expanded language support and incorporate continuous feedback, which will improve product quality.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Uplevel for around a year and a half.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

There are no stability issues.

The support is very good. Whenever I required support, I logged an email or ticket and received a response within the next few hours.

What do you like best about the product?
It is a very useful tool to improve engineering team efficiency, simplify the work of scrum master and help to control different metrics across all linked products
What do you dislike about the product?
Very pure API support. It will be better to have a possibility to export metrics for different automations
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Manage the progress of engineering teams in simple and visual representation, get metrics for sprints, and manage the health of work. This helps to build a right working balance inside teams.

What do you like best about the product?
Exec dashboard with aggregations on DORA, and things like always on, deep work trended over time! Super helpful to get a pulse and ability to dig deeper to identify root cause and drive action!

Uplevel is super engaged and is very responsive to help/make changes when requested
What do you dislike about the product?
Add more key data sources to ingest - PagerDuty, GreenHouse etc

Focus better and tie the team offering with the exec offering better

Remote Worker support tool is a must have

What do you like best about the product?
Being able to get a gauge for discussion with employees. Especially remote workers. Also, increased JIRA integration helps to monitor projects by being able to group individuals together.
What do you dislike about the product?
The resent updates that included the flexibility of JIRA is great; downside, depending on teams they may not use it as much if they have limited jira exposure.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Uplevel is solving my ability to be more flexible to see what the team is doing from the JIRA standpoint. As a manager the ability to get a gauge on employee work and specific points of contact is great benefit.

Great insights into engineering team's metrics and behaviors

What do you like best about the product?
Dashboards are handy for seeing the "Always on" and "Dep work" metrics. I love the weekly updates/aleerts in emails too
What do you dislike about the product?
Too early in the cycle to develop dislikes. If I have to pick on something, I'd say Uplevel needs to work on integrating with Microsoft DevOps at the earliest.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our engineering team is very metrics-driven, and Uplevel provides the teams with the critical insights to increase their productivity and efficiencies. It has also resulted in a positive change, like conversations with team members focused on improving their deep work and understanding reasons around high "Always on" metrics etc.

What do you like best about the product?
The concept behind it is very nice, the application integrates with other applications and compiles all data to find out if an engineer is getting stuck in too many meetings or unnecessary work than important work and it can also help you find out if someone is working for less time
What do you dislike about the product?
The concept and idea are nice but there should be some kind of calibration should be done because people can find tricks to fool the app, but yeah support is nice overall good application.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Application is allowing managers and other key people to get data on employess if everything is working fine or there are any flaws and bad patterns which can be figured out and productivity could be increased.

Great tool giving interesting insights

What do you like best about the product?
Being a manager of multiple teams managed by teams managers, I use the tool to detect roadblocks in the process. It is also interesting to analyse being always on and context switching factors; I use that data periodically to check those statistics with team members and discuss trends. I also like to regularly check Labs section e.g. Knowledge Silos is handy in determining areas requiring broader knowledge sharing. The support is also great and effective in solving issues or answering questions.
What do you dislike about the product?
Initially, the accuracy of the data was not great; it was prone to local anomalies (e.g. person on vac); this improved a lot over time with the feedback given. Similarly, the tool needed time to recognise and correctly mark categories of meetings and do not calculate those unconfirmed by individuals. However, after spending some time with the tool, it improved (also because of shared feedback), and I learned how to use it better.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It gives me a complex overview on my teams work progress, helps identifying blockers and gives me datapoint to discuss mental wellness with my personnel (e.g. long activities, staying late, number of interruptions)

What do you dislike about the product?
It should have weekly report in email to notify about how my week is going on. And have the suggestion to recommend me to do to improve my-self what I cando better.

To see the overview of my work that I spent time for it and see what I can improve my work at company to ensure the sustainable growth with the team I working on it

- 1-1 report before going to have 1-1 with the team, make me having the right conversation with the team.
What do you dislike about the product?
- May be not what I dislike, but I would like Uplevel to have some explanation about the proposal why we need to track data eg since everyone doing remote working, why your manager needs this data, for xxx, to convince the engineering team to have a right understanding that we are not tracking everything about them, but this data important since their managers would like to take care them as much as possible while remote working.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I have sufficient data to discuss with my engineers while doing remote work.
