Project management and customer support have greatly improved audit success and user experience

  • March 24, 2025
  • Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

There were many use cases. We were looking for implementation of the Joined Mover Leaver and implementing birthright access, RBAC, and certification.

What is most valuable?

There are two things I find valuable. The product feature is quite nice and simple, especially in terms of the UI and implementation. Additionally, the customer support is very good. Whenever a consultation or solution guidance was needed, the team was available to answer questions and concerns. Furthermore, from a project management point of view, the tool supports audit success with features to segregate permanent and contractor employees, integrate with HR systems, and indicate other sources for contractors. These features are really beneficial.

What needs improvement?

We have raised a couple of things on the portal, but I can't recollect the details right now. However, we have added them to the support. I don't have any major issues, and all those issues were solution-related and were taken care of in a timely manner. We have also put our enhancement request, and the SailPoint team has accepted that the feature is not available and plans to include it going forward.

For how long have I used the solution?

If you're talking about my personal experience, it's very long. Recently, I completed a project that lasted for two years where we did a greenfield implementation, and I was the Project Manager for that.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

I find it stable.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

I find it scalable.

How are customer service and support?

Technical support is very good. I would rate them a nine out of ten.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I haven't worked with the PAM model of SailPoint, only with SailPoint Identity Security Cloud.

How was the initial setup?

There was a challenge, but it was not a big one. It was all managed well, so I don't have concerns where I should raise it.

What other advice do I have?

I am happy with the solution's implementation as a partner, and the client was happy as a customer. Requirement-wise, it was fulfilling all of them, although there were some concerns on a few use cases. I would rate it nine out of ten.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

Public Cloud

If public cloud, private cloud, or hybrid cloud, which cloud provider do you use?

Other

Empower users with robust IT security and seamless approval workflows

  • December 18, 2024
  • Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

I raise requests on SailPoint, for example, if there is any server-related access needed. I use it more as an end-user, like raising simple tickets for identity access management.

What is most valuable?

SailPoint is more focused on IT security. I find that the approvals that flow through SailPoint are much better than what ServiceNow offers. SailPoint has an edge in terms of security since administrators have limited access, unlike ServiceNow where you can change everything. This adds a significant security advantage.

What needs improvement?

The workflow and user interface of SailPoint are not as smooth as ServiceNow's. I find raising a ticket to be too complex, which could be improved for better user-friendliness. Keeping the workflow as easy as possible would allow users to achieve their goals with more ease.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been raising requests on SailPoint for two years. I believe we implemented SailPoint around 2022.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

I agree that SailPoint was stable during my usage.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

SailPoint is scalable, though challenges exist in terms of workflow and user interface design.

How are customer service and support?

SailPoint's technical support is better than ServiceNow's. SailPoint's team consists of specialists who handle tickets without needing to depend on other teams. This provides an edge in customer support.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Neutral

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We previously used ServiceNow for identity access management, however, SailPoint was implemented in 2022 for more robust security.

How was the initial setup?

The application installation for SailPoint is straightforward. Challenges may arise at the infrastructure level, such as deciding on the server, database, and technology.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

SailPoint is cheaper than ServiceNow, which is very expensive.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

We used ServiceNow before switching to SailPoint for more focused IT security.

What other advice do I have?

I would rate SailPoint Identity Security Cloud an eight out of ten.

My advice would be to make the workflow as easy as possible so that users can achieve their goals with minimal clicks.

Adapts workflows with industry-specific flexibility for big companies

  • December 06, 2024
  • Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

I have experience with AirPods IAQ, primarily for identity and access management. I work on engineering the entire workflow of IAQ, including lifecycle certifications and application integrations as they relate to access management.

What is most valuable?

We find flexibility to be one of the most valuable features. The solution can be customized to adapt the workflow to our industry, offering considerable flexibility.

Additionally, it is considered a good solution for large companies due to its scalability and ability to cater to the needs of many customers. It has also enhanced security and provided significant flexibility for our specifications module.

What needs improvement?

There are more functionalities in the Cloud that could be explored. It's good for big companies, however, I can't compare Identity Cloud with IAQ as we don't use it extensively.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have five to six years of experience with the product.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The version I use now is very stable, especially compared to previous versions like eight point zero and eight point one.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

The scalability is good. On a scale of one to ten, I rate it about seven or eight.

How was the initial setup?

I don't handle the setup or configurations, however, our admin team finds it manageable.

What about the implementation team?

We have a team that is responsible for the deployment. About 20% of the team is involved in deployment and configurations.

What was our ROI?

The product has provided return on investment in terms of enhanced security and flexibility.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

I compared SailPoint with Saviynt, and I find IAQ detailed and good.

What other advice do I have?

I would recommend SailPoint IAQ to big companies.

Overall, I'd rate the solution around eight on a scale of one to ten.

Enhanced automation and AI-driven integration offer significant time savings

  • November 20, 2024
  • Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

We are proposing automated automation solutions like automatic JML processes, automation of different use cases, segregation of duties, and automation of entitlements. We are using the solution to reduce ticket count and are proposing a migration from SailPoint IQ to SailPoint Identity Security Cloud.

How has it helped my organization?

SailPoint Identity Security Cloud has reduced our effort and manual intervention as it is a cloud-based, SaaS-based solution managed by SailPoint itself. It offers high availability and reduces the total cost.

What is most valuable?

The most valuable features include its ability to integrate with AI and machine learning, the automation of reports, and the built-in connectors that enable easy connection with both legacy and cloud-based applications.

Its code-less drag-and-drop functionality allows for easier adjustments, and it provides strong support with reduced SLAs compared to SailPoint IQ.

What needs improvement?

SailPoint lacks some features like privileged account management and access management features found in products like Okta.

The solution could be improved by incorporating these missing features for a more comprehensive identity and access management product.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

SailPoint Identity Security Cloud is a stable product with no major issues observed in projects over the past one or two years. It integrates easily with various applications.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

The solution is scalable and can be upgraded to accommodate increased user counts. SailPoint manages the scalability in a cloud-based environment, which reduces the total cost of ownership.

How are customer service and support?

The customer service is excellent, with quick response times and comprehensive support from the SailPoint team. Support for SailPoint Identity Security Cloud is more efficient compared to SailPoint IQ.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

How was the initial setup?

The setup for SailPoint Identity Security Cloud is straightforward since it is a cloud-based solution. SailPoint provides administrative credentials and takes care of the environment, making it a seamless process.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

Pricing and licensing are based on the relationship between the customer and the vendor. The costs are slightly higher than SailPoint IQ due to included charges for maintenance.

What other advice do I have?

The solution receives a nine out of ten for being a strong, scalable, and flexible product. It reduces efforts and interventions, offering significant advantages over other identity and access management solutions.

Efficient identity management through automation while increasing efficiency

  • November 12, 2024
  • Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

We are system integrators, so we implement and provide consulting around SailPoint. The product is used for identity governance, answering questions like who has access, what they have access to, and whether they should have access, especially for recertification.

We create processes for role-based access control, attribute-based access control, and policy-based access control. We also handle joiners, movers, and leavers in the organization.

How has it helped my organization?

SailPoint helps save time and money, eliminate human error, ensure compliance, improve security, remove orphan identities, handle rogue identities, and ensure there are no redundant identities.

Additionally, it reduces the operational overhead of audits.

What is most valuable?

The most valuable feature is the automation. The automation of provisioning and deprovisioning, managing contractors, temporary users, and the overall automation factor is fantastic. It brings efficiency in onboarding identities, restoring and extending accesses, and terminating accesses.

What needs improvement?

The pricing could be improved. Another aspect is that IdentityIQ should be more widely available on the cloud, especially in regions like the Middle East where residency issues are present.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been working with IdentityIQ since 2016, which makes it eight years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

IdentityIQ deserves a rating of 12 out of ten for stability. It's extremely reliable.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

The solution scales well as long as we provide the necessary resources. I would rate the scalability between 8.5 to nine outof ten.

How are customer service and support?

I would rate the vendor support around five out of ten. Sometimes, the support is slow, and they often suggest resorting to expert services.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Neutral

How was the initial setup?

The setup process is complex. For us, being veterans, we know the process very well, and it goes smoothly.

What about the implementation team?

We often help clients with the setup. We make the solution up and running and then hand it over to the client after providing knowledge transfer. We also provide managed services.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The pricing of SailPoint could be better.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

Saviynt is a main competitor. However, SailPoint is better since it comes with a legacy and is available in both cloud and on-premises models, unlike Saviynt, which is cloud-only.

What other advice do I have?

Depending on the use case, I recommend asking why SailPoint is needed, as it involves a significant commitment. It is not just a project but a long-term commitment or a marriage with the solution. I'd rate the solution ten out of ten.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

Hybrid Cloud

If public cloud, private cloud, or hybrid cloud, which cloud provider do you use?

Regarding scalability, I would rate it an eight out of ten.

How are customer service and support?

Technical support is responsive and helpful, and I would rate them seven out of ten.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Neutral

How was the initial setup?

The installation is not done by us; it is handled by SailPoint professional services, and we only do the configuration.

What about the implementation team?

SailPoint manages the installation, while we configure the solution.

What was our ROI?

Organizations have seen a reduction in operational expenses by about fifteen percent.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

SailPoint Identity Security Cloud is considered expensive, and the kinds of customizations many of our clients expect are not allowed.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

We are working with Microsoft and Saviynt, among other vendors.

What other advice do I have?

I'd rate the solution eight out of ten.
