SailPoint IDN: Cloud-Native IAM with Too Many Gaps

  • October 01, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
No on-prem infrastructure required, making it easier to deploy and scale for modern IT environments. This is the biggest advantage of choosing IDN.
Supports a wide array of out of the box connectors and APIs for integrating with cloud and on-prem apps.
As a SaaS product, it receives regular updates and patches without customer side maintenance.
While not perfect, recent UI improvements for end-user access requests and certifications have made certain tasks easier
What do you dislike about the product?
The interface is overly basic and lacks essential features, you can’t sort access certifications or search within them, making navigation and management unnecessarily tedious.
Identity refreshes happen twice daily at approximate times, but you can't control when. Documentation is vague on the exact timing, which complicates planning and troubleshooting.
The platform is poorly documented. Common issues take weeks for support to resolve, and when you ask for docs, you often get pointed to outdated or irrelevant material.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Manual Identity & Access Management (IAM) Processes. Having comprehensive life cycle management for the users.
Lack of Visibility into Who Has Access to What.
Compliance and Audit Challenges

User access management excels but needs enhancements with integration capabilities

  • June 05, 2025
  • Review from a verified AWS customer

What is our primary use case?

We are already using SailPoint Identity Security Cloud in that space for the ID perspective and I think I did this inquiry quite some time back.

We are using SailPoint Identity Security Cloud to manage the identity life cycle, which includes managing recertification, confirming the status of account access, and determining when account access has to be revoked.

What is most valuable?

Managing user access has been a specific action with the operations team, and they would be able to provide updates. I'm part of the cyber assurance team, so these operational aspects or tool usage-related questions need to be checked with the operations team members.

We have role management and groups management taken care of, and there are no challenges highlighted in that area.

We have managed our identity governance with SailPoint Identity Security Cloud while dealing with some legacy systems and moving to the latest versions on-prem or cloud related stuff, managing both the physical machines configured in our environment and the on-prem or cloud related machines effectively without seeing any difference in solution speed or service.

What needs improvement?

I was aware of that because I used to manage these solutions earlier on, but it was purchased by the Procurement team, so I was not involved in any of those.

There are certain details I may not be able to disclose currently, but we can speak in general about a number of products and tools that are ongoing.

I have not been using access management controls here, so I don't have the latest features or details or hands-on experience in that space.

I cannot share all the details about the improvements in security operations since we were exploring some products, but I'm familiar with Saviynt as I was one of their partners for other solutions, and currently, I cannot disclose a lot of performance related to my current roles.

For how long have I used the solution?

With my new company, we have been using SailPoint Identity Security Cloud for four years now.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

I am satisfied with the overall performance and stability.

How are customer service and support?

I am satisfied with their technical support.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

In general, I have handled Okta and OpenText and noted that those companies have a longer history in the market, which gives them an advantage over SailPoint Identity Security Cloud and Saviynt in aspects like account provisioning and life cycle management.

What other advice do I have?

There are many points which we have highlighted for SailPoint Identity Security Cloud or the identity aspect, but we will not have enough time to disclose all those details here on this call.

The price is on a competitive edge, but as the number of suites and licenses increases, it adds more value. If we need to adhere to compliance like HIPAA, SOX, or GDPR, it remains competitive.

I have been a customer and have handled some of the biggest contracts that Saviynt and SailPoint Identity Security Cloud have managed.

On a scale of 1-10, I rate SailPoint Identity Security Cloud a seven out of ten.

Mixed feelings

  • May 29, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
SailPoint is fairly good at listening to their customers and often flexible enough to adjust to their needs. Their product portfolio and the offerings themselves have matured significantly over the years and are now getting to a pretty solid point. Furthermore, with the introduction of SailPoint's developer community, they've managed to bring together the engineers from both the vendor and customer sides, which has been great great. Last, but not least, their customer success managers have been a pleasure to work with and serve as real advocates for the customers. :)
What do you dislike about the product?
Customer support is and has always been a struggle, particularly when it comes to observed issues and bugs. There is little to no clarity on how long it's going to take to solve any given issue, unless it's the whole tenant is unavailable. Other than that, despite the great strides in maturing the products, there is still some very basic (and I'd argue core) IGA functionality missing from the product, although it's already being worked upon.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
All things identity and access management - SailPoint helped us get rid of fragmented legacy IAM systems and move to a singular solution.

the customer service provided always seems to be on point
What do you dislike about the product?
I am not affected by it personally but I think the cost associated with services is a bit high

We currently use SailPoint Advisory services to fix issues that were configured with our implementation partner. It seems to be a lengthy process.

Assists with managing access to applications, ensuring governance, and obtaining certifications

  • January 25, 2024
  • Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

The solution is one of the main security products you need to control access and have visibility into what's happening in your organization. It helps with managing access to applications, ensuring governance, and obtaining certifications.

What is most valuable?

The product's most valuable features are identity access control and access certifications.

What needs improvement?

SailPoint IdentityIQ needs to improve its customization. It should also incorporate some standardized tools for implementation.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been working with the product for seven years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The solution is stable as long as the implementation is correct.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

I rate SailPoint IdentityIQ's scalability an eight out of ten.

How are customer service and support?

I haven't contacted the technical support team yet.

How was the initial setup?

SailPoint IdentityIQ's usability depends on how well it is implemented. To set up the product, you must configure it like a web application. This involves setting up a web server and determining the number of servers needed based on the site's requirements. The setup process can vary in complexity depending on the client's environment. It can take a day to complete.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

SailPoint IdentityIQ is too expensive for small and medium companies. It is an expensive product.

What other advice do I have?

If a customer wants certain automation during the identity lifecycle - for example, when hiring someone, letting someone go, or moving someone from one organization to another - you can automate tasks based on various factors like their role or department. The product simplifies tasks, especially those where certain individuals require specific access levels based on their roles. With automation, administrators don't need to manually remember or assign access levels for each role or department.

I rate the overall product a seven out of ten.

A stable solution that can be used for risk management, but it could be made cheaper

  • July 12, 2023
  • Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

The third party is the non-payroll staff of the University. IdentityNow is used to manage services.

What is most valuable?

We are happy with the SailPoint IdentityIQ’s stability.

What needs improvement?

SailPoint IdentityIQ could be cheaper.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using SailPoint IdentityIQ for a few years.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

SailPoint IdentityIQ is a scalable solution. We onboarded about 30,000 students, 7,000 staff, and 7,000 third parties that we need to manage on the platform. They use it themselves, and we just need to manage the numbers on the platform. People are managing it administratively within IT with five to six people.

How are customer service and support?

We have engaged with SailPoint IdentityIQ's technical support and faced no problems with them.

How was the initial setup?

The solution’s initial setup is complex.

What about the implementation team?

We implemented SailPoint IdentityIQ through a consultant. The solution’s deployment takes around seven months.

What was our ROI?

We have seen a return on investment with SailPoint IdentityIQ because it manages our risks.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

We pay an annual licensing cost for SailPoint IdentityIQ.

What other advice do I have?

SailPoint IdentityIQ is deployed on-cloud in our organization. SailPoint IdentityIQ covers our whole portfolio, and its growth will depend on the growth of our numbers.

I would advise other users to be very sure of what they want to achieve and select the right product instead of being brand specific. In our case, SailPoint IdentityIQ matched the capabilities we sought.

Overall, I rate SailPoint IdentityIQ a seven out of ten.
