Easy to use
What do you like best about the product?
It's very easy to use. You can do analysis at the speed of light. Their integrations help enrich engagement data in other platforms as well.
What do you dislike about the product?
The fact that it doesn't plug directly to a database. So you're mostly relying on client-side events and things like ad blockers can make your numbers a bit inaccurate.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helps democratize data analysis. Whenever I need quick answers and I can tolerate slight inaccuracies, I definitely use Heap!

Heap is a great data tool
What do you like best about the product?
It's VERY easy to collect data events and view graphs/charts/you name it about all data points.
What do you dislike about the product?
For the most part, Heap is an intuitive tool, but a learning curve and training are required to get up to speed.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Heap allows me to track specific events and conversion results at many stages of the customer journey. I can dig into the numbers from many angles, allowing me to draw stronger conclusions about site component efficacy.
Gives great insights, but not the easiest tool to use
What do you like best about the product?
The data visualizations are great and very customizable to suit your needs. You have multiple different ways to track data from a specific Segment event (funnels, journeys, etc.) which helps us track the correct data for each initiative we launch. We are also able to integrate Heap seamlessly with other tools we use like Kameleoon for our AB tests.
What do you dislike about the product?
Heap is not the easiest tool to use, in my opinion. I have used other data analytics platforms like Looker, Split and FullStory, and I find Heap to be very difficult to learn. Some of the different data parameters like "Filter results," "Group by," "Compare users," "Date range," or "Compare to" are confusing and seem to overlap. It can be confusing for me to understand where I need to input which parameters and set up my dashboard correctly to make sure I'm tracking the correct datapoints.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Heap is a great place for us to centralize our data dashboards and locate them quickly. We share out these data dashboards with all relevant stakeholders so they may monitor the performance of new projects.
Self-serve data insights
What do you like best about the product?
Heap is incredibly easy to use without specialized knowledge. I can build a chart or dashboard in minutes. They offer frequent trainings, and I notice regular improvements in their product that show they're listening. I know I can get the insights I need without a lot of overhead, enabling me to make better decisions more quickly.
What do you dislike about the product?
The flip side of Heap continually improving and iterating their product is that some of my charts and reports need frequent tweaking to utilize new features, and occasionally, minor functionality will change that requires a second look. So, while I like improvements, sometimes I feel like I'm using a new product every time I login.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The fact that I can label events myself means that I am extracting much more value from Heap than I did from Google Analytics. I can also get event-level data on a self-self-serve basis without needing to wait for our internal data team. This allows me to get insights quicker and make better-informed decisions.
Easy low-code analytics solution
What do you like best about the product?
It's super easy to get set up, and you can get insights on practically anything you want. Much better than Google Analytics
What do you dislike about the product?
No Android app, and the ability to get daily reports was a bit tricky to get set-up. But these are minor!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Helps me get insight on what's going on on my website without having to involve developers
Steep learning curve but great insights
What do you like best about the product?
The ability to dig into insights and see precisely where specific pages are receiving traffic from & what people are engaging with on those pages.
What do you dislike about the product?
It was a difficult learning curve and it took our team a while to set up our dashboards.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's helping our team see what the most engaging content on our pages are, as well as providing additional insights outside of Google Analytics on where traffic is coming from.
You'll never be late on you data tagging ever again
What do you like best about the product?
We tend not to anticipate on everything we want to know and we discover it when we need it! Thanks to Heap we can retrieve this information in the past and get actual data without having to wait for 1 month for it to be created, so valuable!
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish it could be better implemented with some part of our app when we need to rely on some custom events which does not allow to make the full potential of it
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Heap is allowing us to follow-up on what our users are actually doing on the platform ; this is an amazing tool to identify people that matters and get insights from them.
Automatic tracking for all front-end event and amazing Segment integration for back-end events
What do you like best about the product?
Everything is tracked by default (on the front-end side at least). Because it's hard to know from the onset what we'll want to learn about users, being able to retroactively get insights on user behavior without having to implement and gather data for new events has helped me gain weeks of productivity to make quick decisions. We can make decisions in a few minutes instead of waiting days or weeks.
What do you dislike about the product?
Graph analysis could be more in-depth (multi-layered), for any research that goes beyond "how many people did x over y period" exporting .csv becomes necessary to work the data out in a good old spreadsheet.

The power of Heap
What do you like best about the product?
The auto-tagging and flexibility to create personal and public elements is very helpful.
What do you dislike about the product?
The management and duplicate nature of managing definitions can be cumbersome.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Product funnel analysis to better understand how users are navigating around the site
I really enjoy working with Heap. It much easier, I find, when compared to other tools like MixPanel
What do you like best about the product?
The best feature for me is when I can see events live as they happen, limit those to only see mine and then build dashboards from there. It takes away the guesswork and the need to keep documentation 100% up to date all the time.
What do you dislike about the product?
It sometimes can be a little daunting when interacting with a tool like this for the first time. By no means I am an expert but I feel that I am not able to extract the full value out of Heap. This might just be a personal issue though.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am able to track how features and releases are performing and see what we need to do for those that under perform. It is also a great tool to go back to the team with data and show the fruits of their labor.
