Innovative, and high value adding product for all data users at scale.
What do you like best about the product?
The best part about starburst is the extensive documentation and support for the product itself. The number of features is also a plus and the frequent version updates to the product in general. The UI is very simple to use and easy to understand for the most part.
What do you dislike about the product?
One thing I would suggest is for the UI to be more intuitive and more similar to snowflake when it comes to analyzing queries. I would suggest that when I look at a query, the breakdown of operations is more clear (aggregate time, sorting, creating the table, etc.) I would also with there was support for declaratively setting roles through terraform so that it is easier for us to maintain internally.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The problem we see a lot is migrating data between data warehouses and this is where most of the value add is. This helps save immesne time plus costs on our end of migrating data. For example a use case may be bringing SAP data into Google BigQuery.

Every time customer adds data source application needs to be rebuilt. It takes time and effort like change control in financial instituion. We need ability to add data soures from UI.

The resilience of workers can be improved, support for more ranger policy templates like ADLS, improvement of push down queries mechanisms that sometimes cause huge network traffic bringing data to Starburst and the query could be performed at datasource level (same catalog and database).

To centralize the data products access in one single point and starburst is the tool chosen by us to that.

I appreciate the professionalism and availability of their support team. Overall, it was a great experience receiving support from Starburst Data.
What do you dislike about the product?
To be honest as a user I didnot find any limitations however i like to get custom alerts whenever we have any unsual spike or utilisation go high.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have to query form multiple databases and we need multiple database connection at one place and details query analysis. We use presto data for our reports and dashboards.

What do you like best about the product?
Starburst works great for us since we can seamlessly connect different databases and perform join operations between them without ever needing to transport our data. It's very convenient to discover and query data that has been connected.
What do you dislike about the product?
Currently i can not think of any downsides. Since i started working with Starburst it has been a smooth ride where things just work the way i want to, when i want to.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It creates a single point of access of our companies data, making analytics and other data operations incredible smooth and convenient. Personally i benefit from it since it abstracts away alot of the technical details and just lets me focus on using the data.
