What do you like best about the product?
I was immediately drawn to Progress Chef because of its effortless implementation process. Additionally, the abundance of features that cater to both basic and advanced needs significantly contributes to its popularity within our organization.
What do you dislike about the product?
One small issue I have with Progress Chef is the initial feeling of being overwhelmed by its numerous features. It might be helpful for new users if there was a guided tour or a categorized list of features to make it more manageable.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
By offering automation and consistent deployment tools, Progress Chef has alleviated many of the challenges we faced in software delivery. The result? Faster release cycles and higher confidence in our outputs.

Some parts of Progress Chef might appear a bit complex. If those sections were streamlined, it would be easier to navigate. Simplifying things a little could greatly improve the flow of navigation. Overall, it is a good tool, but trimming down and simplifying certain areas could enhance the user experience.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Managing our IT tasks used to be quite challenging, as we had to handle numerous manual processes. However, ever since implementing Progress Chef, our workflow has become significantly smoother. The tools provided by Progress Chef have greatly enhanced the organization and productivity of our operations.

Documentation can be sparse/inaccurate/non-existent/overly technical - Really need that community support for complicated issues
Paid support can be difficult to get through to someone you feel like understands the problem, or that can speak in a way that is adequately technical (have you tried turning it off and back on again?)

For newcomers to the Progress Chef interface, it may initially appear overwhelming to navigate. Providing more comprehensive guides would greatly enhance the overall experience. As well customer support could be more responvise.

What do you like best about the product?
Progress Chef has significantly streamlined our daily tasks through its automation capabilities. This software provides the flexibility required for customized setups, which is crucial for managing our various projects. Additionally, the resource management features have been excellent, allowing us to allocate our resources effectively. We also greatly appreciate the prompt and helpful customer support team, who are always available to assist us whenever we encounter obstacles.

Sometimes, the interface can be challenging to navigate, especially when working on complex projects. Improving the interface for greater efficiency would significantly enhance the user experience.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Progress Chef's automation capabilities have greatly diminished the time we spend on repetitive tasks. Its flexibility enables us to easily adjust to different project demands, and its resource management tools guarantee optimal utilization of resources, ultimately enhancing project efficiency as a whole.
Very pleased with Chef and it's products

The product line up offered from Chef. I mostly use the Infrastructure management and compliance tools. Super helpful and innovative.
What do you dislike about the product?
In the past, when I've run into hurdles working with Chef software, I've reached out to Chef directly and to the community and don't always find what I need.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Chef is solving infrastructure management and cloud compliance beautifully. It's so much better to just write a cookbook or inspec profile and have Chef do the work than to spend hours doing all the work yourself.

Progress Chef in my opinion is one of the best tools to maintain and manage servers. It has made our job much easier.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are very few downside and even few which I have faced, the setup and downtimes are daunting but apart from it it's great.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Earlier we used to mange our servers and cloud infra, manually but with is product, its way easier for us to understand the problems that occur in our systems.

It is very user friendly and helps in staying organized and ensures good quality in mass.

Documentation of new features is sometimes not very clear.

It helps in staying compliant which is something that is always a work in progress
Amazing tool to maintain large IT infrastructure
What do you like best about the product?
The biggest upside is the ability to maintain IT infrastructure config as code. This allows for easy scaling and management of resources. It also ensures no unplanned configuration drift.
What do you dislike about the product?
The minor inconvenience with using chef is handling the installation of the chef client on the remote hosts.
I think it would be better if chef provides an easier tooling to manage the initial setup/installation of the chef-client on the hosts.

The biggest advantage of using chef is the ability to manage configuration as code, that is the biggest advantage for us.
