MatterPort is very user friendly. With the new additions, notes and Encircle collaboration.

What do you like best about the product?
The Encircle union is very helpful. We use this on almost every job we take.
What do you dislike about the product?
On large jobs, scans can become very numerous an ability to hide previous scans would be helpful.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are solving misses in scope. Our estimator has the ability to catch demolition that is not on our tech scope sheets.

Veyy good solution. But it would take 2 years to generate enough revenue for regular income here.

Automatic virtual tour creation, creating 3D model.

Not allowing self-hosting. This make me loose some of my prospects to other virtual tour creators who are using KR Pano, 3d Vista, etc.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Creatin virtual tour with less effort.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
You ned to be careful about hosting cost when calculating price proposal for prospects.

Matterport is Invaluable to our Business!

  • December 29, 2021
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The Matterport tours allow us to sell homes sight unseen. About 75% of our clients right now are coming from out-of-state. They take the tour from the comfort of their home it results in sales.
What do you dislike about the product?
I can't really say there's anything I dislike at this point. The platform has continued to evolve for the better. The camera scans faster than it did when we first purchased it and the software is 99% bug-free.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's directly responsible for an increase in sales. We've been using the platform for about 5 years and it's absolutely invaluable to our real estate company.

What do you like best about the product?
Matterport is very easy to use overall. The wide variety of cameras that are compatible with Matterport along with the ability to perform scans with your phone make the software very accessible
What do you dislike about the product?
I find the process of updating scans and properties a bit challenging. We manage multiple rental properties and as renovations are undertaken the process of updating virtual tours can be a bit cumbersome
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Matterport alllows us to give prospective guests detailed images and layouts of our properties in a way that still images don't. We have received multiple instances of positive feedback on the virtual tours we are able to make available.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Take your time doing scans and the end results will be much better

3D 360 Cameras - Great efficiency & power

  • December 28, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I love how adaptable Matterport has become. I first started using Matterport when they only had 1 camera. And now, they have made this intimidating feature easy and accessible for all / any industry.
What do you dislike about the product?
Honestly, they've been very receptive to feedback. I would say one thing I dislike is the turnaround time for customized additional options, such as floorplans.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Digitizing spaces. Whether it be retail, real estate, showrooms, hospitality, or architecture — Matterport allows users to make their space come alive online. It has allowed a wider audience to access specific content within the digital space.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Take a look around their website to understand the different features they offer. They also now offer several different cameras and even mobile apps. Great for small business solutions.

What do you like best about the product?
This is paving the way for a lot of virtual applications. The ability to capture a real world setting and generate a rendering of it is unprecedented in it's innovation.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the Matterport services undercut the general market for the average Matterport business owner. It makes competition very high.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am able to provide local businesses with affordable technology integration. The benefit of working with other Matterport centralized companies has flown me to several countries.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Consider the possibilities you have with Matterpak and BIM files.

Matterport is AMAZING!

  • December 23, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Matterport is the most useful tool in my arsenal! I do restoration work, so capturing a property pre remediation is crucial sometimes for insurance purposes. It also allows us to have a visual representation of exactly what a property looked like when we first arrived onsite in order to cover any potential losses on our end.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only thing I can think of would be the app interface. I think it would be neat if there were a Matterport app that I could view all of my spaces on like I do on a desktop. Maybe there is, I'm not sure? But that would be super cool!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Matterport enables me to be a more effective estimator by allowing me to virtually tour any property I have mapped at any time. In the restoration industry, visual representation of a property is essential through photo documentation. There is, in my mind, no better way to document a property than matterport! I can go back to a loss at any time and review any angle of the space that I need to examine for any reason. A truly priceless piece of kit!
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you need any type of property documented for any reason, there is no solution on earth to do the job but Matterport. Truly a unique and invaluable tool that I use on every project

What do you like best about the product?
The quality of the digital twins and the ease of use of the Pro2
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike alignment errors and issues that prevent a perfect model
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Most problems are being solved by third parties like Treedis and captur3d, they are providing the greatest benefits.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Hire me to do it!

A Fantastic, Professional User Experience for the Price

  • December 22, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Matterport continually makes efforts to improve the quality of its User Experience, as well as improve the technology used to gather all of its scanning data. SO much better than your typical "virtual tour" that many other companies provide!
What do you dislike about the product?
It has sort of become a bit of a funny joke with others in the Matterport community, but for how high-quality their scanning units have become? They STILL have failed to build a simple $2 level into the top of their units. Which means that all of us who are scanning spaces need to keep a cheap level in our pockets in order to make sure that the scanning unit is level before we begin each scan. Not the end of the world! But one of those minor annoyances that could be efficiently and affordably resolved in future iterations of the Matterport scanning units.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
For me? I have always been most interested in using Matterport equipment to help promote meeting/event spaces available for rent (not residential spaces for sale). That? And working with folks such as the National Park Service and various historical societies to help preserve history! The best "UX" is to have people be able to explore physical space using all of their senses! But when that is not possible, due to access not being possible for a variety of reasons? At least allowing people to explore spaces on their devices connected to the internet is a fantastic alternative. And should "the worst" ever happen? Fire, earthquake, tornado, flood, ??? And a space is destroyed? At least future generations will be able to explore those spaces virtually.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I know more effort is being made to allow Matterport models to be generated from people's smartphones. I think it is well-worth the money to invest in their highest-quality hardware that you can purchase...as the quality of the output and "UX," to me, just seems to be better. Maybe if you are creating models that will have a shelf life of less than 6-12 months (i.e. selling real estate, then the new owners of that property no longer wanting their models accessible online), the cheaper hardware options could be the way to go. But the work I create is models that should be available to the public for many years. And for that? I think using Matterport's highest quality hardware is the way to go.
