Great Tool - Rough Implementing
What do you like best about the product?
dca helped our org quickly capture requirements
What do you dislike about the product?
It was hard to implement and took a long time to train developers to use
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are modernizing our business process management system. Our benefits were realized by users making online requests.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
You will want to implement using a true MVP.
10+ years of Pega experience
What do you like best about the product?
The wizards to create web services (SOAP or REST), generate related components to greatly improve developer productivity.
What do you dislike about the product?
You need to develop your applications on a platform (e.g. PRPC). It would be nice to write your code using an IDE and deploy it to the runtime environment.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
All workflow/business processes related applications. Fast development.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Use one database for sharing rules between applications versus separate databases for group of applications, need to be thought carefully. You need to find a good balance in between. We started with one database instance for enterprise sharing rules but as we grow our applications we encountered challenges. The split from one enterprise database to LOB databases costed business lots of money without adding any new feature. It was painful.

What do you like best about the product?
Like about the end to end automation function.
What do you dislike about the product?
The automation functionality is not fully function. It can't recognize all the controller in on difference web technology.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Tried to automate the login multiple web application and auto the web process but there are some limitation from Pega that we can't proceed further.
As a software developer: It's not the best experience.
What do you like best about the product?
It's very helpful to have all tools relating to developing software all in one place such as front end, back end, database, debugging, development tools, testing, scrum tools, etc. This helps keep everything organized and cohesive which is crucial in software development.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are several downsides to Pega from a developer standpoint. In every Pega application I have worked on, because it's a webapp, it can be so slow that productivity takes a huge hit. Granted, this could have been caused by a lack of server or db resources, or slow internet, but the fact that every application I've worked on spanning multiple organizations and servers have been slow, is a problem that needs to be fixed. Developer's work quick if they have the tools and the resources necessary but if the tools and resources are running very slow, it can negatively effect productivity.
There are many other "quality of life" changes that I would like to see such as a much better rule search engine, lots of little frustrating bugs that need fixing. But my biggest complaint of all is the documentation.
Pega NEEDS to invest major time and resources on improving their documentation for developers from the high level all the way down to the lowest level they are comfortable with. Developers will not spend time learning a platform with such terrible documentation.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Building CSR software for insurance. A benefit is fast development speed compared to other technologies. Getting a working product is fast in Pega.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Ensure that the product you are trying to build is the right fit for a platform like Pega. Pega is not the best choice for every type of application and service. It is best for workflow and BPM applications.
Overall good product
What do you like best about the product?
The ability to easily manipulate data and display them in reports
What do you dislike about the product?
The inability to customize the skin more and lack of functions
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Making workflow more streamlined and automated. Issues include difficulty learning how to implement Pega. Pega courses do not prepare you for real world development. Lack of UI courses on Pega academy is also an issue. Lack of functions have resulted in developers having to create their own java functions. UI rules are inflexible sometimes which can be mitigated to some extent by customizing the application skin rule, but at time the skin rule does not allow for enough customization. Would like to see the ability to add CSS code to skin rules more easily.

Pega for BPM
What do you like best about the product?
Pega's scalable and reusable platform for automating business rules is very helpful and requires relatively little technical know-how to learn and use effectively. The integrated customer journey analytics and mapping also helps to inform areas of better efficiency and identify opportunities for greater streamlining the process and automating processes to improve overall business performance.
What do you dislike about the product?
Pega's user interface is not always intuitive and can be somewhat challenging to use in the beginning. In addition, there are several classes that may be required to learn the full functionality of the product based on your specific needs and your role in using the platform. Pega has the classes segmented by role, but where it could be a challenge is if your unique role with the platform requires knowledge or training in multiple areas of the platform. The courses are an added cost, and are very helpful, but training time and expenses could be prohibitive for some organizations.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using Pega to solve business process automation opportunities for our business, which has many, many areas that we have already identified, but we rely on the Pega journey mapping and analytics capabilities to help us identify additional and previously unknown areas of business process automation. We are also using the tool to help manage already efficient business processes, copy them, and scale them to new areas of our business rather than re-building. This saves us time, money, and resources by being able to quickly and easily copy existing processes and modify to be able to 'build for change'. This model has enabled our business to adapt and change quickly to regulatory changes in insurance as well as changes our customers and clients request.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Consider similar platforms before deciding, for a large organization, it can make sense to have an enterprise license, but could be more expensive for a small organization.
