All your documents at your finger tips

  • March 17, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Using Dropbox gives me a place to store files, folders, and documents without overloading the drive space on my computer. Dropbox is accessible from any place/computer I login from which means everything is accessible even if I don't have my own laptop with me. I have files in my Dropbox going back almost 10 years and have never had a problem with retrieval, access, or data safety.
What do you dislike about the product?
Only drawback is that I must have internet to access the files.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Keeping information stored in a safe, easily accessible place without using up valuable drive space on my computer

Reliable storage platform with an aged user-interface

  • March 17, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I have used Dropbox daily for years. It has never failed, and all the files I have stored there are still safe. The user interface on the desktop is ok, I like the fact that I can still see the folders on the desktop file browser even though the actual files are not taking up space on my computer. The price seems to be the industry average. I don't mind paying as long as the service is reliable. I haven't used most of the extra services of the account. Dropbox is easy to install, no issues there. Sharing files with others is also easy. I recommend Dropbox if you are a private user who wants to keep your files safe in the cloud.
What do you dislike about the product?
The user interface in the mobile app and online platform is seriously out of date or just planned wrong. Google Drive is possibly the only service I have tried that is lacking even more usability than Dropbox in this sense. I don't want to go into details but I am constantly experiencing issues or find myself thinking "I wish this could be done in another way". If you are using mainly the desktop version, you probably won't find too many issues. I also don't like the fact that I am paying for a single-user Dropbox Plus license and would like to use it for my one-person small business, but Dropbox doesn't discount the EU VAT from the purchase because they only sell their business version with an EU reverse VAT - even if the buyer is a company. This only causes a LOT of accounting issues and extra costs, that have sometimes been almost the same as the actual Dropbox annual fee. And the business version is 2x the price with a few benefits I don't need. For this reason, I am surely moving to another service when I have time to do it. So: If you are a bigger business, Dropbox might work out for you. However, because of the out-of-date UI, you should test first. If you are a small one-person company in the EU, use another service provider.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Dropbox keeps a backup copy of my files safe. In some situations, file sharing is also useful. But it seems that most of the time I will use other services for that.

Everything is backed up and accessible no matter where I am or the device I'm using

  • March 17, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Everything is backed up and accessible no matter where I am or the device I'm using. I love that I'm able to easily share my files for collaboration. I also really like that my files (which are large graphics) don't obligate space on my primary hard drive.
What do you dislike about the product?
I honestly can't think of anything I dislike about Dropbox.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The peace of mind Dropbox gives me is priceless because I know my files are safely backed up.
