Simple and powerful

Powerful data synchronization features and simple file sharing capabilities. The fact that data is always up-to-date across different devices is very convenient. At the same time, the process of sharing files and controlling access rights is also very easy, helping to enhance teamwork and effective collaboration. That is exactly what I want in a storage application.

Indispensable back=up and file management tool
What do you like best about the product?
With desktop integration, I can move and manage files on my local machine and have it reflected nearly instantaneously on the site. As one who has had issues with hard drive failure, the ease of backing of my important files is important to me. And, as one who is self employed and works with a lot of clients, the peace of mind that I won't lose critical data is powerful. I use Dropbox just about every day. It's that important.

I can't think of anything I don't like about Dropbox.

Secure backup of key work files and seamless document collaboration.
Great for healthcare satellite offices
What do you like best about the product?
I work for a small office laboratory that is managed by a larger laboratory in a different state and timezone and has a lab director that is on the other end of the state. What I like best about Dropbox is that everyone having access to one shared file space transcends the days of patiently waiting for someone to send you the file you need or getting told by your email service that the file is too big! Being in healthcare, especially the laboratory, we are always needing to send large data files to our parent laboratory for testing confirmations or for our proficiencies. They are also able to access any relevant documents as necessary when I'm not physicially in the office (we're such a small office lab, I don't hold traditional business hours - I come in late evenings and on weekends). And, vice versa, if I need an updated procedure or need to access quality control sheets, I don't have to wait until someone comes in to send me what I need. It's easy enough to customize the file trees and easy enough to give access to everyone who needs it. I also really appreciate the emails about when someone edits or uploads documents as well! Dropbox is a product I use daily and frequently. It's one of the first things I open when I get into the office. You don't have to download anything to your desktop - I simply saved the tab to the internet bookmarks. I can even access these documents to my cell phone when I'm not in the office by downloading the app (no worries, no patient data is kept in the files we keep in Dropbox!). I have also never personally noticed any downtimes or issues with Dropbox in the 3 years I've used it in this lab and the 10+ years I've used Dropbox as a student and in my professional organizations.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't love the pricing as a small laboratory that has to be very mindful of my budget. In comparison to other services, I love the ease of use and the emails regarding when someone makes changes and edits. However, I've been using Dropbox long enough to have watched how it's adapted over the years and find the price point to be fair.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have not had any quality issues.
