Systematic file synchronization, storage, and sharing

  • December 02, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Dropbox's system file synchronization from any device to the cloud is the best feature. After you assign a folder or multiple folders for syncing, Dropbox will automatically upload any file that's added to these folders to the cloud, which will then be available to access, share, and edit. This feature makes my work easier as my work folders are synced on Dropbox, so the changes I make are reflected almost immediately. It is an excellent way to make my files available on other devices and prevent data loss. Syncing on Dropbox is supported by cloud storage, of which you're allowed 2 GB from the start.
In most cases, this is more than enough, but it can be expanded by subscribing to higher plans. Files on your Dropbox drive are eternally stored securely for you to use. You can share the files from your storage with anyone, even if they do not use Dropbox. Dropbox on the web browser provides an excellent medium for collaborating with other people. You can let other users modify your files and their content by granting administrative privileges. You can upload files from Google Drive, Office 365, and more to work together on docs and slides for presentations. There are also mini work management features that you can utilize to smoothen the workflow of projects and team assignments.
What do you dislike about the product?
There's nothing to dislike about Dropbox currently. It's free and allows at least 2GB of storage, which is plentiful if you're not using it for large video or software files.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Dropbox's systematic synchronization alongside automation makes file security and backups extremely easy. Gone are the days of having to manually upload files, as Dropbox does them automatically once the synchronization is preset. The excellent file storage is stress-free and removes any worry of losing important files from the device. Dropbox can be integrated with many applications, notably Zoom. This integration allows us to use Dropbox to share files and collaborate on the cloud using the Zoom application, which reduces the number of windows we have to tab between simultaneously. Dropbox supports any file type, so we've been able to import our docs, spreadsheets, and slides from both Microsoft Office 365 and Google Docs, Sheet, and Slide to Dropbox. Dropbox Paper helps immensely in group editing and task management.

Dropbox Professional is a cloud-based file server

  • December 01, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like Dropbox Professional for its usability and compatibility with various operating systems. It allows me to work on one computer, and it will automatically be synchronized with all other computers that have this software installed, which is helpful. I also appreciate that editing privileges can be restricted while still allowing others to observe or make contributions - this feature comes in handy often. Additionally, it integrates well with the drives on my computer, making file management a breeze. Overall, Dropbox Professional is a great tool that has saved me time and energy numerous times.
What do you dislike about the product?
What I dislike about Dropbox Professional is that uploads can occasionally be slow. Since switching providers for broadband Internet access, my upload speeds have been breakneck. I thought it would be helpful to be informed of my upload speeds being poor, along with suggestions on enhancing them.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The Dropbox Professional I rely on has occasionally presented a problem with electronically transmitting lease documents to an agency. However, at the office, it is used quite frequently to transfer enormous datasets in preparation for a computer vision or machine learning task - two areas in which you will learn a great deal about the product and its functionality throughout the trial period.

Very Efficient to Share Files

  • November 30, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Dropbox is fantastic for not only backing up files, but sharing files with coworkers. Dropbox professional provides more than enough storage and makes storing work files more secure.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is no collaboration feature. Having important work-related files backed up and sharable is great, but being able to collaborate directly on the file like you can with Google Drive would be a huge plus.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Securing and backing up important work files, keeping files organized and in one single place to share with other employees for quick and easy access for anyone who needs them.

Dropbox First Class Cloud Backup

  • November 30, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Dropbox was one of the first software offerings for offering a public cloud repository. Dropbox is a stable, access-from-anywhere solution for access to documents, photos, projects, etc...
What do you dislike about the product?
I think Google Workspace and Microsoft OneDrive have upstaged Dropbox, in their backup to the cloud for business and personal offerings. Google and Microsoft have tied their cloud and email services together, making it easier to keep with the same provider.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Dropbox provides cloud-based backup of individual documents, photos, and videos to help simplify workflow and projects in one location. Dropbox offers a single pane of glass view to their customer's content dashboard.

Great for storage and sharing

  • November 29, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I can safely share multiple folders with just a co-worker's email address. I can allow them to make necessary changes or limit them to read-only. The amount of storage for the price is great.
What do you dislike about the product?
I realize that if the owner of a file or folder moves the folder to another location outside of Dropbox, to save space in their Dropbox account perhaps, I can no longer see it. An easy fix is to copy the file before it is removed.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I do not have to convert large folders with multiple files to a zip file before sending to another team member. It saves that step and keeps the folder current by syncing changes made.
