Very easy to use to share data and backup in the Cloud

  • September 28, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Dropbox can be installed anywhere on your computer where I can bypass OneDrive. It is easier to write scripts to point to the Dropbox folder, whereas the way OneDrive works, it is not very easy to identify the location of the OneDrive location.
What do you dislike about the product?
Dropbox Basic (Free Edition) used to be able to be used on unlimited computers with 2 GB of storage. They have since changed it so that you can only access Dropbox Basic from 3 computers/locations.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I have developed my own VBA application, but I needed to use it on multiple computers. Data needed to be accessed from multiple computers, but I could not use multiple copies of the VBA app. Otherwise, I would have fragmented data. I solved this problem by creating an Access Database and storing it in my Dropbox folder. That automatically replicated any changes to the other computers I use Dropbox with. Please note that I was the only person accessing the data and not multiple people simultaneously. Since I was the sole user, and I only used my VBA app on each computer but not at the same time, the issue of fragmented data was avoided. This method WILL NOT work if multiple people need to use the same data simultaneoulsly. I then had multiple copies of my VBA app on different PCs, but all the data was stored and backed up on Dropbox in the Access Database. It is also to be noted that storing data on Access instead of Excel sped up access to data and filtering of the data.

Almost perfect, no real flaws

  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The ability to use multiple formats is definitely ideal. Items that usually cause problems from one company to another that can't be used, opened or formatted are easily dealt with now.
What do you dislike about the product?
Having to open multiple "pages" just to reach the file needed. Otherwise, it is pretty perfect. Not every file can be transferred internationally.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I deal with multiple manufacturers, not all of which have their home office based in the US. Commonly used programs can not always transfer in and out of the country. Dropbox allows for almost every format to be usable.

Experience of using Dropbox

  • September 27, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I love that the user interface is effortless to work in day-to-day life. It gives a very sophisticated experience. The size of the dropbox installer is relatively small to use in pc with 500 GB of hard disk space.
What do you dislike about the product?
Dropbox is not very popular, and not a broad group of people are aware of it. The authority should make more advertisements to make it popular. The app version needs some bug fixes; it abruptly shut down many times.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Dropbox comes with free storage of 2 GB, which I find very useful. It's straightforward to store your files and share them. It gives a smooth performance . I use it to upload my office files and share it among team members.

Cloud platform for data storage

  • September 23, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like that the data is encrypted and can be in compliance with HiPPA policies. It's easily accessible and safe
What do you dislike about the product?
I would like o see a more colorful method of organzing data. For insurance, a flow diagram with hyperlink to storage folders would help because when there are too many files, having visual questions help remember where data is stored
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Safe storage and sharing of data with hippa compliance. This allows employees to also work from home as data is securely available on their home or off site locations

Decent cloud storage with desktop app

  • September 23, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like the offline functions with the desktop app the best.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't like the user interface on the mobile app and cloud app for my computer. It seems to lag a little more and the functions aren't as easy to find as the desktop app.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I hope they can make the functions more consistent across the different access platforms. I haven't seen this as of yet, but would love to utilize this more if they can work it out.

Dropbox is the best cloud storage platform for low tech people

  • September 23, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Simplicity is the name of the game for Dropbox. Easy setup. Easy native integrations with other apps. Easy user interface and user experience. You receive a solid amount of storage space on the free plan.
What do you dislike about the product?
The downside of Dropbox is the amount of prompts within other non-Dropbox apps that are integrated to upsell all the features like "hey! remember to use us!" try hard kinda neediness.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Dropbox has simple sharing settings while most cloud storage has convoluted systems to share to non-team members. For example, I prefer my agency use Dropbox to share client folders and files because we don't need to pay extra, it has Zoom like ease for low tech old people and I can see the activity log.

What do you like best about the product?
Dropbox is an online file storage service that allows users to upload, share, and access files from any device. One of the most helpful aspects of Dropbox is its ease of use. Users can create a free account and start uploading files within minutes. In addition, Dropbox offers a variety of features that make it easy to manage files and share them with others. For example, users can create shared folders that allow multiple users to edit and comment on the same document. Dropbox also makes it easy to share links to files with non-Dropbox users. Overall, Dropbox is an extremely user-friendly service that offers a variety of features to make managing files easy.
What do you dislike about the product?
Plus, the interface is kind of clunky and difficult to use. I also don't like how there's no way to see who else is working on a given file. Overall, I find Dropbox to be frustrating to use and not worth my time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It allows my team to access files remotely
