Easy to use cloud storage and backup

  • April 12, 2022

What do you like best about the product?
How easy it is to recover after my computer crashes. I rebuild windows and connect to dropbox. Install the app and my files are all restored to where they were just before the crash happened.
What do you dislike about the product?
In todays cost for storage I would like to see more storage space included with the plans. I know 2 TB sounde like a lot but if you've downloaded movies from iTunes that can be eaten up fast.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Sharing files that may be too big to send via email through dropbox is quick and easy. Rich click the file and create the link. Send this to the person you want to share with and you are done.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
They offer a 2TB free plan to test out the service. Try it out and see.

What do you like best about the product?
Access anywhere as long as you are connected.

Able to easily search files with own keywords.

As long as it is stored, files can be retrieved even years after!
What do you dislike about the product?
A bit too costly. Hopefully, increase the allowed space for a lower cost.

Need to figure out a time limit when a file can be still shareable to a 3rd party not in your group.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
easy sharing of files and not losing them even if your device wears out!
Stays in the cloud as long as you want it, files do no tgo bad or corrupted unlike stored in a device.

What do you dislike about the product?
I wish that there was not a data limit cap on the free product.

When I was able to use it at work I would send video files to other reporters for a daily newscast. Then our IT department blocked it for some reason.

What do you like best about the product?
I like Dropbox for its versatility in storing project data; it is efficient and collaborative because it allows sending large files to clients and teams with a simple copy and paste method; It is also useful and practical for creating backup copies on servers.
What do you dislike about the product?
It would be great if Dropbox increased the storage limit for the free version.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Dropbox is a tool that allows to have a safe and accessible backup of files and information of each project, favorable and convenient to share file information with other specialties or areas of the company, practical to instantly update any change allowing the access to the most recent copy of files as well as allows the recovery of documents and files just by clicking the undo button.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I recommend Dropbox as an easy way to access files and folders from a computer or mobile device, and it also has a mobile app for iOS, Android, and smartphones that you can download and connect.

Must have Document Wallet

  • December 17, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It's my desktop backup tool & most crucial document wallet. For every Control+S command, it backup files in a flash & I can access files on all my devices. I do not have to keep my essential document on all my devices, or I do not have to backup my data every time. Easy to implement in every device like smartphone, tab or laptop. Customer support is also great & timely. You can easily integrate in each of device. Can be used frequently 24/7.
What do you dislike about the product?
Internet is required to keep your data updated on all devices. You need to sync up or refresh devices. Data backup is free up to some GBs; then, you have to take paid membership for a month or year.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I keep my essential data updated on all my devices via Dropbox. I do not have to back up my critical data every time before factory resetting my device. You can edit or share any vital files in dropbox directly. You also request to share data from another dropbox user.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I recommend using Dropbox if you want to access any critical files anywhere, anytime & any intelligent device. Dropbox also developed a collaborative workspace where the entire team could work using a single shared space on dropbox.

Not super happy

What do you like best about the product?
I wouldn’t say there’s one specific feature that stands out as my favorite, but I do have a bit of feedback. When we transitioned from Box.com to Dropbox, the implementation process was more challenging than expected. The user interface felt a bit awkward and not as intuitive as I hoped, which made the switch a bit harder than it needed to be. That being said, I’m sure with more time, I’d get more comfortable with it!
What do you dislike about the product?
There are a few aspects of Dropbox that I find a bit frustrating. For one, the way it syncs with files on your computer can be risky—if you accidentally delete something in Dropbox, it’s also removed from your computer, which can be annoying. Yes, you can recover it, but it’s an extra step I’d prefer to avoid.

Another thing I find tricky is the left-side menu layout. It’s harder to locate starred or favorite folders/files compared to Box.com, and when you click on "Home," it only shows the most recent files or folders rather than giving you an organized list of everything. To see a complete list, you have to go to "All Files." It's not the end of the world, but the layout doesn’t feel as user-friendly, and I personally preferred the setup on Box.com. If I had the option, I’d likely stick with Box for ease of navigation.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Dropbox provides a centralized space for our team to share files both internally and externally with customers, which helps streamline collaboration and access. While it meets our basic storage needs, the user interface and layout could be more intuitive. Personally, I don’t find much direct benefit, as the platform feels clunky and could be better optimized for ease of use.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I personally would steer someone to use Box.com rather than Dropbox.com. To me, the layout of the whole thing is way better. Also, the ease of use of their online services isn't as good as Box.com.
