Dropbox works but doesn't have the most flexible security
What do you like best about the product?
It is the universal leader in storage and integrates with almost every product that can be integrated to.
What do you dislike about the product?
Users and security are not nearly sufficient enough for businesses. Subfolders cannot be shared differently that the parent folders. We could not use it to share client information for that reason.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We no longer have a server so we need a way to store files and also share them with customers.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Consider carefully what your security needs are and whether Dropbox can fulfill your needs. That has been my biggest disappointment.
Great practice management tool
What do you like best about the product?
I like that it syncs with all of my devices and a large amount of memory. It makes practice management more efficient.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish I could edit documents directly while in dropbox and not have to download them first. The cost has gone up.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Easy access to files and records. Helps with record keeping.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Try the free trial. Also refer other people.
Big files transfer so easily
What do you like best about the product?
The ability of Drop Box to transfer such big files so easily
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes it is confusing how to download the files and where they are saved
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Able to transfer large files quickly. Don't have to download to CD and then mail to others
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Great product for sending large files between companies
Easy but there are better solutions
What do you like best about the product?
It is intuitive and easy to use. You can organize files and select who has access to what.
What do you dislike about the product?
If your organization uses One Drive or Google Drive, there are easier ways to share files and assets. File space gets used up quickly and then you have to pay to upgrade.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Sharing files with consultants if they don't use the same suite (google drive or one drive). Putting assets in a place that is easy for collaborators to download.
Seamless Multi-system file storage
What do you like best about the product?
The ability to access my files on every device I use.
What do you dislike about the product?
It does not always play well with Webroot.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Your files are always accessible.
Dropbox use with Adobe Lightroom shared catalogues
What do you like best about the product?
Dropbox is easy to use, clients love it and we can share photo and video files easily amongst our team.
What do you dislike about the product?
It can be a bit confusiing, using the folders on your drive, syncing to the cloud and making it cloud optional. After a bit of work it gets easier. Knowing it is always able to restore your assets is comforting
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Dropbox to synchronize our lighrroom catalogues and assets between us and clients to make sure all is up today. Effectively, we use only one catagoue, and making a small metadata change by one user almost immediately synchronizes it with all other catalogues.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
For our needs, it was better than google drive, as the syncing of lightroom catalogues were seamless in dropbox, but always threw errors in Google
Convenient, but not perfect
What do you like best about the product?
The convenience of reaching files from anywhere. I like that files can be stored locally on a personal computer, in addition to just being "in the cloud."
What do you dislike about the product?
When I use the website to download and open a file at work, changes on the file aren't automatically updated to the file online unless you save it and upload it. I understand that it's part of the trade-off with using files that are opened on the computer itself and not online. It also limits collaboration. I also know that's the point of Dropbox Paper, but I've never used that because my workplace uses Google Drive.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As a teacher, I do a lot of work on my home computer that I then need to easily access from computers around the school. Dropbox allows me to do that, whether it's with Word documents, Powerpoints, or other files.
Great way to save and backup files
What do you like best about the product?
Accepts any type file. Secure way to back up files.
What do you dislike about the product?
Space on free plan is limited, but still generous.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Secure backup of files; Ability to email files to storage is useful.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Generous space allocated even in the free version. Stable company --your files will be there in the future.
Great product and easy to use
What do you like best about the product?
I like the versatility. I can use anywhere and for anything. and the sharing component is fantastic
What do you dislike about the product?
nothing really other than any size limitations
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
ability to access anything from anywhere - saves time and money
Solid software that you can depend on
What do you like best about the product?
I love how easy it is to save files to dropbox. I also really enjoy the fact that I can access the files in the car while im travelling between sites. The best part about is how reliable it is.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike how many popups I get from it on my computer. Its like everyday, its reminding me to do something or that im running out of space. Even after I turned notifications off, it keeps insisting on reminding me of something I already know.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Its easier to transfer files to colleagues. I can just 'drop' it in the dropbox and they can view it, download it or whatever else they need to do with it. I can also store family photos and share them with others at the drop of a hat.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Dont use dropbox if you are the type of person who really dislikes adware on your computer. If you are using it on your mobile though, its not all that bad.
