The overall satisfaction with Dropbox leads me to consider more storage as a factor that would make me repurchase the service.

Dropbox is the best storage app, and offer multiple functionalities really enhancing my productivity

  • October 31, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I am a long-term, Dropbox Plus user, with a paid yearly subscription. I use Dropbox every day, several times a day, across multiple devices, computers, mobile phones, and tablet. The most helpful functions using Dropbox are the ability to automatically backup my computer, as well as the automatic synchronization of my files on Dropbox and my computer, to ensure I never lose any information. Moreover I appreciate the integrated tools such as the ability to sign documents or the Paper application to quickly collaborate by sharing notes and minutes of meeting. The file sharing is also very useful, as is the automatic upload and backup of photos from my mobile devices to Dropbox storage.
What do you dislike about the product?
One downside of using Dropbox is that when sharing documents with my team or other people, they need to have a Dropbox account and enough storage allowance, in order to access all functionalities of Dropbox. But not all people are willing to create a Dropbox account, and even less, take a Premium pay membership, especially if they are only occasional users, or just collaborating with me using Dropbox, but otherwise using other Cloud services.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Dropbox is keeping all my documents secured, it backs-up my computer which is a trove of information, and saves all my photos across all my mobile devices automatically. It helps me share documents and files, and increase my ability to collaborate with others, professionally and personally.

Reliable Cloud Storage with Effortless Sync

  • October 31, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I have been using Dropbox for around four to five years, starting from when I was a student, and now as a professor and professional researcher. I appreciate it as a logical choice for storing and synchronizing large amounts of data, which is particularly important for my research. I love the reliability of Dropbox's desktop app, which functions perfectly compared to those of other vendors I considered, ensuring seamless cloud storage synchronization. The setup process was easy, and the integration with the Dropbox folder on my computer allows for automatic synchronization to the cloud, making Dropbox effortless to use, particularly its online interface. Dropbox allows me to share files easily with my students, collaborators, and other researchers via cloud storage links. I value its capability to keep my files synchronized, ensuring I always access the most recent version and providing the option to rewind files if mistakes are made or data is accidentally deleted. This rewind feature has been a lifesaver, allowing recovery of entire directories, a necessity with students who might accidentally delete data. Furthermore, Dropbox keeps different PCs in my laboratory synchronized, enabling us to use the same sets of software and access the same documents at all times. I find the automatic synchronization of files and folders to the cloud particularly useful, as it happens in the background with the Dropbox app without manual intervention. Integrating Dropbox with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint enhances my workflow, and I appreciate the ability to use Dropbox in a straightforward way for managing a huge amount of files. Overall, Dropbox's functionality supports my research group's collaborative needs efficiently.
What do you dislike about the product?
The file visibility feature in Dropbox can be confusing. I find it difficult to determine whether a file is physically stored on my computer or just a link to the file located in the cloud. This often results in delays when accessing cloud-stored files as they take time to load. Additionally, the current user experience regarding this could be improved to make it more intuitive.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Dropbox to store and synchronize data, share files effortlessly, and restore deleted files, ensuring data accessibility and reliability across my research team.

Reliability and Seamless Syncing at Its Best

  • October 31, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I have been using Dropbox for about five years, both personally and professionally, and I truly appreciate its ability to store important files and photos effectively. I originally discovered Dropbox through colleagues who utilized it for efficient project file sharing. The setup process was very straightforward and quick, which was a pleasant start with no challenges or surprises, making it user-friendly right from the beginning. Dropbox is excellent in keeping all my files centralized and accessible regardless of the device I am using, which has proven incredibly beneficial on several occasions, such as a construction project where I needed immediate access to updated architectural drawings on-site. The feature set that Dropbox offers, including file syncing, shared folders, and version history, is something I depend on heavily. These features have significantly streamlined my workflow, with real-time syncing and shared folders enhancing collaboration with colleagues and clients smoothly. Dropbox’s reliability, ease of use, and seamless syncing are compelling enough reasons for me to choose it again without any hesitation.
What do you dislike about the product?
The storage upgrades can get pricey, especially for small teams or individual users who don’t need the full range of business features.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Dropbox centralizes my files, making them accessible from any device, streamlining collaboration with real-time syncing and shared folders, improving project flow and client interactions.

What do you like best about the product?
I have used the free version for many years. It is very easy to use. Once installed on my computer, it is present as a folder which can be accessed on multiple computers -- laptop, desktop, and mobile phone. It also can be shared with others. It was very handy in dealing with closing an estate, All parties could look at the documents and load documents.
What do you dislike about the product?
The least helpful has been the restrictions progressively applied by the company limiting size and number of computers for the free version of Dropbox.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I work on my desktop at my office at home, and then take the work to various locations as needed with my laptop. It keeps the latest version of the data available at home or abroad.
