Reliable and Convenient File Transfer Solution

  • October 30, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I have been using Dropbox for probably ten years for transferring large files to clients, and I found it to be a fantastic solution for file transfers which email couldn't handle practically. Dropbox's reputation as the market leader with reliability and credibility attracted me when I started, and its ease of use continues to impress me. As a Software as a Service (SaaS) product, setting it up was not difficult at all; it worked instantly once I signed in. The file sync setup which allows a local Dropbox folder to sync automatically from the desktop app is very convenient, making file transfers seamless. Having Dropbox as a unified solution keeps everything more organized and allows reliable access to my files across different computers. File transfer and storage are the most useful features for me, as they fulfill my greatest needs. Additionally, I truly value the way Dropbox maintains its strong performance as a market leader, which is why I rate it a remarkable 10 out of 10.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike having to use multiple file transfer options owing to diverse preferences among clients, which could be simplified if everyone used the same service. Additionally, the monthly subscription fee for Dropbox seems to lead some people to choose alternatives like Google Drive, which complicates my workflow as I have to use various services.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Dropbox to keep file transfers organized, providing reliable access across different computers and simplifying the process of transferring large files to clients.

Easy to Use, But Photo Uploads Need Improvement on Mac

  • October 30, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
What I like best about Dropbox is the ease of use and being able to create folders for specific projects.
What do you dislike about the product?
The fact that I cannot select all of my photos and they can go into the folder I created. I have to do it one by one. I use a MacBook Pro and I don’t have this problem with Google Drive. How can I make it work? I use Command + A.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
They have not solved my problem of being able to select all my photos and upload them into a folder. It is not benefiting to me

Great tools for client review, terrible tools for downloading of large data sets

  • October 30, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I use Dropbox as a way to deliver videos for client review and Dropbox provides very convenient tools for commenting. I developed a workflow to use comments in the Dropbox interface as tasks to complete following client review, and leaving detailed notes creates a very useful "paper trail" of conversations to review prior iterations of an edited video.
What do you dislike about the product?
The tools to download large quantities of data are very rudimentary. If I want to download a folder with a large volume of data to my computer (number of files is high AND there's a large total size of data) I either have to 1)use the Dropbox app which will force me to sync desktop with my entire Dropbox UNLESS I fiddle with sync settings, which is very inconvenient, 2)Download a zip archive of the entire folder via the web, which will likely fail, 3)Individually download each and every file in the folder which is time consuming, or 4)Download onto my iPhone or iPad via the Dropbox app and then Airdrop to my PC, which is both time consuming AND fiddly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Dropbox provides a FAST way to upload video, send them for client review, AND providing a platform for client notes to be itemized.

Reasonably good for active music production files, but always feels like a sell

  • October 30, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like best that I can access music files on different device easily. It is more simple than Google Drive or iCloud for this purpose. I like that I can upload voice notes directly to Dropbox. It is reasonably good for file management.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dont like the perpetual ask to buy more services. It feels predatory and makes me not want to pay for additional services. I dislike that there are not intermediate options for additional data usage. I dislike that I start getting "low space" warnings at 50%. I dislike the app and that it is constantly showing that offline or downloaded files are not there.

I dont like the difficultly of moving files between folders.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is allowing me to access and share mixes of songs quickly and easily, for me and my clients.
