Ending our constant battle with local storage limits using Dropbox

What do you like best about the product?
Smart Sync is brilliant because staff can scroll through terabytes of project files in File Explorer without destroying their laptop hard drives. Plus, hitting one button in the console to wipe a lost laptop or pull access from an ex-employee gives me huge peace of mind.
What do you dislike about the product?
Moving ten years of messy files off our physical server was a nightmare because long file names kept breaking the initial sync. Paying full monthly seat prices just so external vendors can grab one folder for two days also drives me crazy.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It totally eliminates ransomware panic and dead hard drives because my desk can roll back entire directories to any point in the last 180 days. We cut file-recovery support tickets to zero while keeping management satisfied during annual data privacy audits.

Reliable, Fast Sync and Seamless Collaboration Across Devices
Reviewed on Jul 24, 2026

What do you like best about the product?
Dropbox stands out for its reliable file synchronization, intuitive interface, and seamless collaboration features. Files stay synchronized across desktop, web, and mobile devices with minimal effort, making it easy to access important documents from anywhere. I also appreciate the straightforward file sharing, version history, and recovery features, which provide confidence when collaborating on projects. Integrations with productivity tools and fast synchronization speeds have made Dropbox a dependable solution for both personal and professional workflows.
What do you dislike about the product?
Dropbox is highly reliable, but the pricing for larger storage plans can become expensive compared to some alternatives. File synchronization is generally excellent, although very large folders can occasionally take longer to sync. I would also like to see more advanced collaboration features included in lower-tier plans, improved search capabilities for large file libraries, and greater transparency around storage usage and file version retention.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Dropbox solves the challenge of securely storing, synchronizing, and sharing files across multiple devices and teams. It eliminates the need for manual file transfers by keeping documents automatically up to date, making collaboration much more efficient. Features like version history, file recovery, and shared folders reduce the risk of data loss and simplify teamwork. As a result, I can access important files from anywhere, collaborate in real time, and spend less time managing documents and more time focusing on productive work.

Effortless Collaboration, But Pricey

What do you like best about the product?
I really like how easy it is to share large files and folders via simple links with Dropbox. The seamless background syncing across all my devices is fantastic, and it makes file syncing a breeze. I also love the collaboration feature, as it allows me to work seamlessly with team members on shared documents. The initial setup was very straightforward and took only a few minutes; the desktop installer did all the work, requiring me to just download the app and sign in.
What do you dislike about the product?
I find Dropbox's subscription pricing high and its storage limitations restrictive. The lack of default zero-knowledge encryption for data is concerning, and the desktop apps use a lot of resources. There are frequent conflicted copies, confusing Smart Sync indicators, and limited direct human support.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Dropbox for cloud storage, file backup, document management, and it helps prevent data loss, save hard drive space, and make large file sharing easy.

Centralized Storage with a Reliable Backup, But Connectivity Hiccups
Reviewed on Jul 19, 2026
Review provided by G2
What do you like best about the product?
I like how Dropbox enables me and my team members to review, comment on, and update documents, presentations, and creative contents simultaneously. Dropbox helped me centralize file storage for documents, photos, videos, and various communication materials related to my work. I like the Automatic Backup and Syncing of files feature the most, as it securely backs up my files and documents, which is essential when working on creating various communication materials. Additionally, I find Dropbox easy to navigate based on my first encounter with the software.
What do you dislike about the product?
As I mentioned previously Dropbox needs a high-speed internet connection. So on some occasions, especially in low internet connections, malfunctions regarding uploading and syncing files could occur. If it would be possible, mechanisms for functioning well in low-speed connections would benefit me.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Dropbox enables my team to review and update documents simultaneously and centralizes file storage securely. However, it sometimes malfunctions with poor network connections, causing issues with uploading and syncing files.

What do you like best about the product?
I've had a great experience using Dropbox. It's easy to use, keeps my files synced across all my devices, and makes sharing documents with others simple. The version history and file recovery features are especially useful when I need to restore an older file. Overall, it's a reliable cloud storage solution for both personal and professional use.
