What do you like best about the product?
It provides the best Writes IOPs with SSDs in our Primary and Secondary Datacenter setups.
What do you dislike about the product?
The current Scylla JMX module is using only JDK 8 by default. Please provide options to point the Scyall JMX to use existing JDK versions.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

The best Bd in the las temp

  • February 15, 2023
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
scylla is one of the best databases I've ever used, both in terms of performance and maintenance, they are by far one of the best I've ever seen, I've used them in about 5 projects and I've never had any problems even though I'm a layman in terms of databases data
What do you dislike about the product?
one of the points that I think they should improve would be their publicity they already have a cool and good product, now they should share others along with their beautiful visual id
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
ease with the database helping me a lot during the day, helping me to deliver my tasks quickly and letting me deliver all my work with the right time, great quality for every service

Easy Onboarding for Independent Developers

  • February 15, 2023
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Getting onboard was easy. I was able to create an account, enable 2FA, create a free demo cluster, and connect in about 10 minutes. This was much more efficient compared to setting up NoSQL clusters on other services. I also appreciate that getting dependencies installed was as simple as running `pip install scylla-driver`
What do you dislike about the product?
I haven't found any downsides yet. I guess the main thing at this point is learning a new cloud and how to interact with it. But at the same time, the python interface that I'm used to with other DBs is relatively similar.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
ScyllaDB provides a quick, vendor-neutral interface to a Database as a Service. As an independent developer, I need to be able to stand up services quickly and, often, hand them over to other people to manage. It seems like this will be a straight foward process with ScyllaDB without having to set up additional roles and permissions for 3rd parties to access the datastore.

What do you dislike about the product?
None. Seems to be the best compared to the rest
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Easy to manage any data type with good security with encryption

Performant db even in low resources

  • February 15, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like how Scylladb performs best, even under very low resources with very little TCO.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is relatively new, so has not much support for all languages like, PHP. Learning curve is also higher for the first time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using it specifically for our needs to serve high throughput writes.

Best database for high data volume realtime applications

  • February 15, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Easy to migrate from Cassandra and get a high improvement in application performance.
Easy steps for management of backup and disaster-recovery of database.
What do you dislike about the product?
In comparision to its peers, I do not see any major drawbacks in ScyllaDB.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Very low latency is the most important metric in realtime healthcare applications and ScyllaDB helps the most ij achieving the required low latency numbers.

ScyllaDB: the new age nosql and better replacement of Cassandra.

  • February 15, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Lightweight and fast as it's built on C++
Way better than Cassandra (that we previously used). Low latency and high throughput as compared to Cassandra.
What do you dislike about the product?
Data export can be improvised.
The cost is a bit high, especially the yearly one.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using Scylla for our alerting service, where we persist our subscription-related data and other domain related data.
Previously we are storing these in Cassandra, and during the scaling, we are facing issues when the load is very high at times.
With Scylla, we were able to take care of latency problems and scale out the service during peak hours.

Started Scylla as an better alternative to Cassandra database

  • February 15, 2023
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The fact that Scylla is based on C instead of Java makes better utilisation of the underlying resources. No hassle of handling the JVM. Also Performance scales as we scale the cluster.
What do you dislike about the product?
The installation process could be bit complex for new users as the steps are not clear. The installation process be a bit more simplified for bare minimum installations.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I was using Cassandra as my primary database for the application requirement, which worked great since long time. Recently we needed to add a huge amount of historical data to the cluster which increased the cluster size too much due to the data soft limit per node, so migrating to Scylladb is a better option that doesn't require scaling as frequent as Cassandra do. Also with more request per second and more amount of data ScyllaDB is giving better performance.

Fast, available, efficient NoSQL storage with excellent support

  • February 15, 2023
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Compared to other options, you can get a lot of performance out of relatively low-spec hardware. Since ScyllaDB is written in C++, it is much more performant than other solutions.
What do you dislike about the product?
Much of the tooling is legacy Cassandra tooling. I don't want to have to install a JRE just to run nodetool. It's possible that this is already resolved, as I haven't checked in with my ScyllaDB reps in a while.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We needed a product to store large volumes of data from our infrastructure. ScyllaDB is efficient, has lower hardware requirements, and has great enterprise support.
