A robust real-time Nosql DB supporting lightweight transactions
What do you like best about the product?
We chose ScyllaDB over Redis because of the Lightweight transactions it supports. Being able to update partitions was a necessity for us. Also, university.scylladb.com has good resources for getting started for a new user.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are no tools for bulk importing and exporting of the data. We have to build and maintain our custom applications.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use ScyllaDB for caching the session state of user sessions on our gaming apps. With each time interval or stage the users advance to, we have to read the state, take decisions and then update the state within a few milliseconds. We also use this key-value store for finding out highly active users, users who are dormant and users who are stuck at any stage for long time. With our confidence growing in ScyllaDB, we are planning to build many other use cases around the database.

Nothing, ScyllaDB is excellent to be used by the users.

The security problem which benefiting me very much.

What do you like best about the product?
We have been delighted with ScyllaDB's support and help in migrating from on-premise Cassandra to ScyllaDB. We use ScyllaDB to store billions of lines of information; the latency is excellent for read times. When encountering scaling issues, ScyllaDB's support has been exceptional and very helpful in reducing costs for the company.
What do you dislike about the product?
The most significant point which I think I dislike the most is how long downscaling or upscaling clusters takes. Our use case for ScyllaDB does not require very quick scaling however the costs add up when waiting for the clusters to downscale or upscale.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are storing mass amounts of Unique IDs mapped with information; we use this database to store the mapping between both. We run ETLs that write to Scylla and use the written data to enrich our requests.

ScyllaDB can be more sophisticated than some other NoSQL databases, despite the fact that it is intended to be simple to use and integrate into current applications. The technical knowledge needed to deploy and configure it could be a hurdle for some enterprises.ScyllaDB is designed to handle only a few types of data, including time-series data and key-value data. Although it can manage different forms of data, it might not be the greatest option for applications that call for more intricate data models.ScyllaDB is a newer database, so it's possible that it has a less developed ecosystem than some other databases. The major problem which scylladb is solving is performance, which includes low latency and high throughput. Our systems relies on performant databases and scylladb definitely helps out in this case.
Fast and Scalable
What do you like best about the product?
ScyllaDB is an open-source, column-oriented, NoSQL database. It can handle huge volumes of data in real time with very high throughput. Scylla maintains low latency and consistent performance. Like many distributed systems, ScyllaDB is highly available and scalable.
What do you dislike about the product?
Well, I think there is no problem for me right now. We use it in production and haven't had any issues so far. One thing that could improve is better documentation for best practices.

In our use case, we need to store a document copy for backup and auditing purposes. For this, we are using ScyllaDB, which helps achieve high IOPS at a low cost.

ScyllaDB started as an open-source, which I could find code and contribute from Github. ScyllaDB is NoSQL, so it is application driven. Its services are developed to support building applications with high flexibility.

ScyllaDB adds more confusion at the beginning for newbie users. It requires users to have essential data management and software development knowledge, which is difficult to reach.

With distributed database characteristics, ScyllaDB greatly benefits from low latency and high availability. Therefore, it is compatible to handle extensive dataset.

With the wide-column store, ScyllaDB is a scalable distributed database with low latency. ScyllaDB could work very well with the large-scale dataset and it could be deployed on Cloud as well

The migration path from Cassandra to scylladb is smooth. they provide all documentation regarding migration path

Right now they don't support for rdbms like MySQL

Scylladb is working on nosql based databases which works at larger scale with their performance
Super easy to use and get started with
What do you like best about the product?
ScyllaDB has a pretty good community and study materials built on their platform, which can help to get started and also helps you to master scyllaDB. It is definitely a better solution than going with other NoSQL solutions.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing so far. It is doing a pretty good result as expected.

More intuitive and solid NoSQL database for our cloud platform.
