Great support team and easy to use interface
What do you like best about the product?
The support team is very helpful and responsive. Additionally, documentation is well written for most use cases involving drupal and wordpress. Also, the automatic updates in pantheon are easy to use and can save a lot of time for development and maintenance.
What do you dislike about the product?
If you aren't using Wordpress / Drupal there isn't as much flexibility as their environments can't run node.js.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
By using Pantheon i have saved time in maintaining Wordpress updates, along with having an easily streamlined process to develop and push code in a fast moving business environment.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Make sure to assess business needs before committing to Pantheon. The platform is fairly sticky, and if you are doing a lot of custom integrations there might be better alternatives. But if your main use case is Drupal or Wordpress, would highly recommend

High quality, developer friendly platform

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Building out sites with security built-in, with tight integration with Git, has simplified our process and taken out the pain of managing our own servers.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Use pantheon if you don't like systems administration.

What do you like best about the product?
The developer tools are great. I especially like Terminus.
What do you dislike about the product?
Constant upselling and changes to terms. Every year or so, they change their hosting plans and try to get our customers to upgrade to a new, more expensive plan.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
My company builds custom WordPress themes. We set many of our customers up with Pantheon hosting because the tools for development are outstanding. We can reliably integrate Pantheon with Gitlab CI, Lando, and just about anything else using Terminus.
Great Support and Great Company
What do you like best about the product?
The support with Pantheon is top-notch. We now have 3 websites on Pantheon and I wouldn't think about switching. They work with each year on our billing and we are so grateful for having great people that work at Pantheon. Overall, the system is great and offers. lots of services.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only downside is you have to pay for multisite if you don't have a certain subscription. Support can also be expensive if you don't go with a certain plan.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have three sites on the platform and it's fast and I love having three different environments per site (LIVE, TEST, DEV).
Be able to have backups run automatically also is a HUGE benefit. I am not sure I am solving any problems but using Pantheon makes it much easier overall to manage our websites, make changes, go live and figure out issues with the website itself in the DEV site without messing with our LIVE site.

Great WordPress Managed Hosting
What do you like best about the product?
It makes it super easy to set up WordPress along with being able to have multiple environments to make testing super easy. I also like the requirement to actually commit code to install a plugin which requires a little more knowledge and adds a little barrier to add code to the site that is not custom-built for the site.
What do you dislike about the product?
The quality of support has gone down a little over the past year. There is still a fair amount of help it just seems like Pantheon has been going through a growth spurt and I've been through this with other similar companies in the past hopefully it will pass and everything will get better. Pantheon is still a good choice.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The main problems would be scale and security. Some of the other managed hosts have had issues keeping up with some of the sites, especially around e-commerce. Pantheon has never had any issues.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you need a decent amount of scale, multiple testing environments, or Drupal support along with WordPress Pantheon makes a good choice. It is fairly expensive comparatively but you get what you pay for with Pantheon.

Nothing. I believe everything runs well with pantheon if you know what you're doing

There have been several period of downtime for our site, and engineers on the chat function don't seem to know how to handle anything more than a quick fix

The developer experience is great. Having different environments in order to test new features before going live really ease our work, and the deployment of these environments is pretty straightforward.
What do you dislike about the product?
Depending on the project, for small webs mainly, it could be a bit expensive.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I wanted a hosting that I can trust and focus on the code of my web. We haven't had any problems yet and the way Pantheon workflows are designed really ease the developer experience. I really like being able to have different environments per branch and the deploy to these different environments, to test new things before going live, is pretty straightforward. Apart from that, their cache strategy is great and it solved some problems we were looking to solve.
So far, it's great that we don't have to care that much about the hosting, Pantheon seems it's stable and we haven't encountered any issues.

Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you can afford it, give it a try and test the workflow between different environments, we really like that. We're using it with WordPress, and I would recommend to install their cache plugin as well.
