Great for what it does

  • July 17, 2018
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
WordPress integration
Multi-dev support
No dev-ops
Security (no need for a lot of plugins like WordFence)
Free SSL
What do you dislike about the product?
It's a bit limiting that you can only have 'master' deploy to dev and test. This is mitigated with "multidevs"
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
eCommerce as well as branded websites using WordPress and Drupal.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
You can try it out for free. Check out their "platform consideration" page (google it). It contains a number of hurdles that are common with their platform.

Pantheon is a great hosting platform!

  • July 17, 2018
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I love Pantheon, and have been very pleased with them. The GUI that quickly lets you manage each environment is easy to use, and the multi-dev concept is something that I love to use while developing new features. They also have a great support staff.
What do you dislike about the product?
There's really not much to dislike. Occasionally, the multi-dev service is not available, but the down-time is extremely minimal.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It makes updating CMSs a breeze, while allowing for a solid separation of environments. That means that new features and updates can be tested thoroughly before making it into production.

Great Platform, Continually Evolving.

  • July 17, 2018
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Pantheon really shines in their approach to a streamlined user experience for managing your sites, not unlike Wordpress itself. Dashboards, integrations and services are very polished, intuitive and easy to use.

Where they go the extra mile is their commitment to the communities and architecture once you look under the hood. Pantheon continues to surprise in their thoughtful dedication in how they approach their "stack" and provide useful tools for developers to build on top of their environment.
What do you dislike about the product?
The enviroment is also a double edged short. In order to have great performance and support, there is hard and fast rules for what you can and can't do as a developer within their platform. This can be stifling at times and really will vary on a site by site basis.

Make sure when considering Pantheon you research these limitations and work with them to identify if they are the fit for you. They have a methodology and requirements which may not suit all sites.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Pantheon provided a scalable solution that made it easy to work with some of more heavy duty clients freeing up our developers to focus on the project and not the hosting stack.

Pantheon platform is easy and gets things done

  • July 17, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Pantheon's continuous integration is fantastic. Their docs are always up to date and easy to follow
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometime if there is a major security update, it seems to take awhile to get the upstream
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Pantheon really takes of everything and is an easy sell.

Great company, tech-savvy & customer focused

  • July 17, 2018
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Pantheon is staffed by some very smart people, and their customer-service is excellent.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing really at this point. We're planning on consolidating further sites on to Pantheon.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We're attempting to consolidate all our websites (English & international) on one hosting platform, preferably all of them on WordPress.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Great company to work with. Web hosting has a lot of nuances including how developers deploy code. You need an environment that is easy to use & secure: Pantheon provides this as a service, as opposed to a more "do-it-yourself" with your internal severs or Rackspace.

Bulletproof workflow and support.

  • July 17, 2018
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The workflow ensures best practices and presents many opportunities to avoid and theme, plugin, or other issues. Their support team is fast and accurate in responses, they actually know what they are talking about and can provide real developer level support.
What do you dislike about the product?
No issues at all in day to day use. I just wish there were more plan option to support even small websites. The initial setup does require some learning if you are not familiar with GIT. It is sometimes slow to setup codebase access for a new device.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The workflow of going from GIT to sandbox, staging, and then live with their streamlined dashboard is the easiest and most bulletproof WordPress development environment I've used. And, their support is great and fast if you do need it.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Try the workflow with a lower level account and then upgrade as needed.

Solid performance that iforcea beat practices

  • July 17, 2018
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Pantheon hosting has been pretty solid. The platform forces developers to follow best practices with Dev, Test and Live environments.

The containers tend to run smoothly and efficiently most of the time.

Included https hosting on all levels is great.

New relic integration proves valuable for pinpointing performance issues.
What do you dislike about the product?
The workflow has been confusing for some contractors I have been paired with.

Many times workflow error messages are not very explanative. Support via chat is usually helpful but more descriptive error message would help.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Web hosting with best practice workflow

Great service for managing Wordpress/Drupal sites

  • July 17, 2018
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I really like the available dev tools specifically, as well as the web interface which makes very clear the status of each environment.
What do you dislike about the product?
I with the local dev tooling (i.e Lando) would *feel* more stable. I actually haven't had many issues at all with it and it is quite stable, though transitioning from kalabox (which I had tons of issues with) to lando felt like I was trialing a beta in a big way.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I'm solving the headaches of managing staging and various other environments. I'm not collaborating with a team on a daily basis but when I am Pantheon proves incredibly useful for letting everyone know what code and database is where.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It may not be the cheapest, but you get what you pay for with Pantheon.

Easiest way to develop WordPress or Drupal Sites

  • July 17, 2018
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
This removes a lot of the scut work involved in a build/test/deploy methodology while handling the complexity added by WP and Drupal's architectures that combine code and a database to create websites.
What do you dislike about the product?
No particular dislikes. It does what it needs to do.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Easy of development.
