    Rob T.

It's a really easy way to deploy a new site.

What do you like best about the product?
Not having to manage the server myself. It takes less administration to use Pantheon than spinning up an AWS instance.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the limitations are a little bit of a downer. Max PHP memory and the like.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Speed of deployment.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you need a simple site and you don't want to manage the infrastructure Pantheon is a good choice.

What do you like best about the product?
Love the multiple environments and the GIT integration, great support, and ease of administration from the control panel.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not much; haven't had too many hitches rolling out multiple clients for web hosting on this platform.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Robust hosting for large clients with complex websites, but still retaining the ease of use of Wordpress and Drupal for development.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Highly recommended for users with multiple sites, enterprise-level requirements for their Wordpress and Drupal websites.

Helps streamline site building. All in one shop.

    Non-Profit Organization Management

Decent, but aimed more at vendors than clients

What do you like best about the product?
Makes most things very easy. Good dashboard, plenty of good options for good developer practices. Solid command-line tool. Good support usually, when you can get it.
What do you dislike about the product?
Clearing caches is unreliable. Too many commands time out from the command line tool or fail with error numbers and zero explanation and nothing comes up on Google. Docs are a mix of old and new information and are an utter chaotic mess, sometimes great, sometimes awful, usually hard to find. Support chat is rarely available (no reply for 20 minutes and I quit) and most support requests end up being tickets and email-driven. Support good otherwise. Dashboard tells me 1200 times a day that the dashboard isn't refreshing properly. Doesn't matter how many times I x it out... it just keeps coming back. Tons of 500 or 50* errors come up for pages so page loads are an issue. Config files are clunky; many lines of code for a single redirect. Access to server is clunky. Notification of Pantheon issues is never timely., like they don't want us to know there are issues until it's undeniable, but it means I spin my wheels when things go wrong...and they go wrong too often. Response times are patchy. Failure get nebulous meaningless unhelpful errors that don't appear in my logs. Support staff are generally good but often contradict each other. Stuff presented at DrupalCon is rarely easily done nor a readily available function. It's not aimed at me as a solo site maintainer, it's aimed at teams with big budgets.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Better Drupal solution was the hope...but then I can't even reliably clear caches so I'm not sure I'm getting that.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Try it out first. Think about what it'll be like when your site is huge. It's damned expensive so think about costs.

    Computer Software

Maintainability and ease of use

  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Its modular, extensible, cost saving, community, and best-practice driven approaches to site building.
Goes well with Mac as well as windows Systems. Had a great experience exploring options for windows platform. Also the multi development environment feature helps to get a better experiment and test new codes.
They do not charge for any setup. The Drupal Support is good.
What do you dislike about the product?
The User Interface is little more white and could be better with colors and informative.
Not available for major Linux distributions and not ideal or a better solution for enterprise environments.
Prolonged delays on button click or navigation. A bit of slow hosting system when comes to MP3 and includes just a few configuration options.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
High performance and efficient Drupal Hosting and site hosting and maintaining or creating multiple environments, page caching.

    Consumer Services

Excellent environment for Drupal developers

What do you like best about the product?
The servers are fast and reliable. The deployment process is simple and perfect. It made much more easier our work as a team.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not all the contrib modules are available. Sometimes I miss being able to access the console to execute scripts, nevertheless Terminus has proben to be a wonderful tool.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Since we are on Pantheon, we've never experinced any downtime. The deployment process has certainly been improved.

What do you like best about the product?
Pantheon provides a level of confidence with site security that I haven't seen with other hosters.
What do you dislike about the product?
The learning curve was a bit higher to feel comfortable in the platform, but the support staff is very helpful.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Faster websites, less security issues
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you have a site that has decent traffic and you want to feel secure in it's capability for speed and security, i recommend Pantheon.

An Excellent, "No-Brainer", Multi-Dev Platform

  • July 17, 2018
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The Pantheon multi-dev environment for site development and staged deployment is by far the easiest and most robust platform for managing just one to many websites.
What do you dislike about the product?
The pricing tier is much better than Acquia but still out of reach for many of my clients.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I've been a Drupal developer for many years working with other platforms such as Acquia & others. Pantheon exceeds them with its ease-of-use UI, benefits of overall costs & time saving in both development & project management.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Compare to Acquia and then revel in the cost & time savings.

Safe and robust environment for any type of developers

  • July 17, 2018
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Automatization of deployments, separate environments, git and sftp access, terminal tools
What do you dislike about the product?
Any custom coding eg. submodule in root directory (or eg. executing Drupal from subdir) is not possible or very hard to do. This causes us problem with decoupled installations where we have static frontend and serve Drupal from subdirectory
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is very pleasant that you can start many dev projects and just hand off to clients to pay and take over production environment

    Design

A great tool for multi-faceted teams

  • July 17, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
As a designer, I love how easy it is for a non-developer. The designers and producers here can set up the CMS for the client using advanced custom fields in Wordpress. It allows our developers to focus on what they need to work on (the code) while we can do some of the admin work. Pantheon is user friendly and really caters to a team collaborative environment, as it's easy to pick up and implement to the team.
What do you dislike about the product?
Switching back and forth between environments sometimes is something the team forgets to do. I wonder if there is a better way to make that clearer what environment you are in? I have committed my fields to the wrong environment before, because I dont always know exactly what environment I am in.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Setting up fields in Wordpress but allowing the producers and designers to be able to take part in this has been tremendously helpful as it creates a team first mentality and allows all members of the team to take part.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It is one of the best tools when making advanced custom fields for Wordpress, and it very easy to commit the fields.
