User Testing and Experiential Research Made Easy
What do you like best about the product?
For starters, I love how easy the interface is to use. I also LOVE how fast support is to respond to issues. And the fact that there are so many people signed up in the UT panel is nice -- we already have fresh testers ready to help us, which makes scheduling our testing a dream.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes we have testers who are clearly there just to try to make a quick buck which is annoying, but thankfully UT is really great at letting us ban/block testers, rate testers, and replace testers in our test. So mostly just a minor concern. Also, the speech-to-text dictation needs some improvement.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are continuously testing and improving our online retail experiences. We've also used UT in conjunction with other tools a LOT, like Optimal Workshop.
Highest Paying Testing site
What do you like best about the product?
This has got to be the best paying testing website i have come across. They pay you $10 for each test. Some tests dont even last 5 minutes. Its helped me during my maternity leave
What do you dislike about the product?
Not enough tests, you have to be quick in picking tests as they picked up quickly
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Its helped me make some extra income on the side
Recommendations to others considering the product:
You wont believe the amount of money you can make from a testing app
Perfect for testing functionalities of sites
What do you like best about the product?
You can learn a lot about the functionality of your site here
What do you dislike about the product?
Downside is that payment schedule takes 7 days
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Great for testing out bugs in sites
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Great for testing if a site is user friendly
Usertesting.com allows for quick turnaround research
What do you like best about the product?
I like the ability to create a test, recruit, and have results the same day. This allows me to get feedback to my designers in a quick and informed way.
What do you dislike about the product?
Many of the participants seem to be "professional" testers, they give great feedback but they are quite a bit savvier than your typical user. There are some ways to get around that, you just have to screen them better or turn on the fresh eyes option so that you don't get the same people over and over.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am solving UI issues, getting feedback on concepts, and information architecture. I have been able to benefit from Usertesting by giving my team quick and reliable feedback to make decisions on the design that directly impact the user experience.
Great platform for user testing
What do you like best about the product?
After having experience setting up user testing via Usertesting.com vs recruiting and bringing users in-house I can honestly say that usertesting.com makes the process much easier. The platform is very intuitive and provides exceptional tools to setup and analyze user tests.
What do you dislike about the product?
On occasion I have had some users through usertesting.com that don't follow instructions. However, this doesn't happen very often and the review feature helps to improve these users and the overall pool of users.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The biggest problem we are trying to solve is providing the sweet spot of information that helps users understand our product and website. We have discovered many areas where our language or the layout of our pages haven't been intuitive to our visitors.
Great with some areas for improvement
What do you like best about the product?
The vast participant pool is amazing! The tagging/clipping/and highlight reel functionalities are also wonderful.
What do you dislike about the product?
The metrics dashboard is a bit cumbersome when trying to test both mobile and desktop simultaneously. There is a lot of white space and it requires a lot of scrolling.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Validation of products.
Creating customer empathy
Understanding the need for UX research in all development

Understanding the need for UX research in all development
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I recommend separating mobile and desktop sessions into two studies for ease of use of the metrics dashboard
Good so far, but could be better
What do you like best about the product?
The ability to watch videos easily, being able to see everyone else's tests they launched
What do you dislike about the product?
Can't add a new audience to a launched test
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
videos with real customers to show to stakeholders
Very useful tool overall, with some limitations
What do you like best about the product?
UserTesting allows us to run tests very quickly with almost any audience we choose, and get rapid and rich feedback.
What do you dislike about the product?
The UserTesting interface has some limitations which sometimes prevent us from being able to ask questions the way we would like to.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We're testing faster and more frequently than we could otherwise.
Experience with UserTesting
What do you like best about the product?
The ability to test features, designs, functions, etc. very quickly which user feedback to verify your findings. Also, I really like the ability to generate a link for our own user testing videos.
What do you dislike about the product?
The limited amount of tests per quarter (3 tests per researcher/designer per quarter). This was such a horrible idea, so glad you decided against it. It completely defeats "what I like best" about UT.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
To determine if users understand designs or workflows and can effectively navigate within.

Like magic
What do you like best about the product?
Usertesting is a great platform for remote user testing. It has a really nice UI for study creation and its customer account staff are delightful to work with. They have enabled my company to do much more user testing than would be possible through in person recruitment alone.
What do you dislike about the product?
The biggest downside to UT.com is their user cohort seemed very attenuated to click-and-do sorts of studies, so if we deploy a study that requires some pointed thought or critical feedback, we have to account for slowing participants down in the study design. UT.com's help staff is helpful but not exceptionally so, they will fix issues promptly but generally do not give advice.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Using UserTesting as a platform has allowed my company to double the number of tests we run to evaluate our internal projects every year. In some cases this has put valuable information in the hands of the business quickly about a proposed product, in other cases it has been used as the first qualitative step of larger, more strategic research projects.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
The comparison I do every year is the cost of setting up a lab and recruiting the same number of participants vs how much it would cost to do the same amount of testing in UserTesting. If your company is just a starting out in their user experience practice or is trying to integrate UX work into an agile development framework, UserTesting can give amazing results very quickly. If your company has an established UX testing framework, UT still might be able to help you do more studies, faster, but you might need different capabilities.
