What is our primary use case?
I usually work with clients in the financial sector. Many of those clients need to meet certain security requirements that are mandated by their auditor or recommended by their auditor, which is dual multifactor authentication. That is usually the reason why they first look at Cisco Duo, and then I pitch Cisco Duo to those customers for authentication into most of their financial applications as well as VPN access.
It is very commonly used for VPN access.
What is most valuable?
I think seamless login, as well as less administrative overhead in terms of managing users and their login credentials and passwords, and tighter security are valuable.
The main thing is it helps the customers meet their security requirements.
Cisco Duo is very easy to deploy. The documentation is very thorough, which makes deployment straightforward.
What needs improvement?
The only area I could think of is support for more applications. Cisco Duo already covers a wide range of apps, especially the common ones, but there is always room to add more.

I have 27 years of experience in this field. I have been using Cisco Duo for two years.

Cisco Duo has excellent stability, as is usual with Cisco products.

I work for a company that is a Cisco Duo reseller, so scalability has not been an issue.

Simple and Effective Protection with Cisco Duo
What do you like best about the product?
What I like most about Cisco Duo is the push feature, which allows me to receive a notification and simply press the approve button, without having to search for and copy a 6-digit code. Additionally, I love that I can use it from my watch, which allows me to approve access without having to take out my phone, saving me from distractions. It is much faster and safer than using slow text messages or searching for passwords in authentication tools.
What do you dislike about the product?
Well, it's that if I don't have my phone on hand, or I ran out of battery, or I don't have my watch on hand, well, my smartwatch, then I'm blocked, and I can't access anything. It would be good to have more backup options that are easy to use without having to contact technical support. The process of changing devices is a bit tedious because you have to go back to and if I don't have the IT administrator, it's necessary. See all those issues, so that's what makes it difficult for me.

I use Cisco Duo to protect my email accounts, VPN, and CRM, ensuring that the information is secure. It helps me authorize logins easily, quickly, and intuitively, avoiding the issues with text messages that don't always arrive.

The initial setup was very easy, supported by clear documentation and quick integration into our existing environment. I would rate it a 9 out of 10 because it is very easy to use and secure.

Reporting and troubleshooting could be improved, as deeper visibility into authentication issues would make administration easier.

Cisco Duo is a super easy install for 2FA. It provides an additional layer of security to our email and devices. We find that this works particularly well for all of the different kinds of users in our company, from people who have email only on phones all the way up to actual device log-ons.

One of the most frustrating aspects of DUO would be the use of offline codes. This company does not make it easy for the lament user to being to easily connect to the internet without the offline codes. It can be a disaster when people travel and need to connect to a device when there is zero internet.

What do you like best about the product?
I use Cisco Duo as our main MFA security feature and appreciate the ability to have users authenticate twice via password and then Duo push/call. I particularly like the push notifications feature, where I can receive a push to accept rather than having to enter a text number and input code. It's convenient not to go looking for codes to enter when I can just accept a push, and it even shows the location and time of the push. Additionally, the initial setup was easy by just scanning a QR code.
What do you dislike about the product?
Only downside is if you got no cell service you do not get a chance to authentic yourself with Duo
