Great extra security layer for your network
What do you like best about the product?
Cisco Umbrella is easy to set up and effective in its protection. You just need to configure what and how you want to protect and then add your roaming computers.
What do you dislike about the product?
I haven't found anything I disliked yet because this tool is very customizable. If you believe that it's blocking too much, you just need to change the configuration accordingly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Threats have been increasing a lot in the last several years, so we decided to add extra security to work with our antivirus system. Umbrella was one of them and the benefit is that it pre-filters some of the traffic reducing the load on the other security systems we have in place.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I recommend that as an extra security layer for your network. Umbrella is also able to protect roaming users that are very common these days.
Cisco Umbrella: Cloud DNS filtering that is consistent
What do you like best about the product?
The fact you can protect an entire network in minutes, with the ability to deploy agents to remote devices easily. Policies can be set up for each type of network and device as needed.
What do you dislike about the product?
IT BLOCKS EVERYTHING.... Until you allow it, that is. The log analytics stream in real-time, but I would recommend a full audit before putting it in production.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Umbrella to filter all traffic on several remote locations and windows tablets. We also us it to find out of any strange networking or malware traffic on our networks.

What do you like best about the product?
In Cisco Umbrella, I like best its traffic optimization and DNS services. I can block and forward different websites from my corporate network. can control internet traffic
What do you dislike about the product?
In Cisco Umbrella I wouldn't say I like slow work; configuration changes take time to be applied in the system. The report doesn't work correctly. Improvements in the graphic interface

Control DNS traffic of our office and Datacenter.

What do you like best about the product?
The simpleness of implementation. Can be as easy as changing where your DNS points to.
What do you dislike about the product?
Have not encountered a downside yet. We are 3 months into the contract and have had no issues.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Protection our assets with prevention at the DNS layer. This has quickly identified where there may be some systems calling out with malware that we may not have seen otherwise.

What do you like best about the product?
What I like about Cisco Umbrella is it's easy to use, even for beginners like me. It's easy to customize and user-friendly. It provides a layer of security in a single user interface. It offers a free trial for 14 days, so you can maximize it to explore and check if it meets your requirements.
What do you dislike about the product?
A more detailed description of the Security Categories would be helpful. Generic descriptions provided. For example, state lottery sites could have more information in the report of the Gambling category.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am currently using Cisco Umbrella to filter what the user can and cannot visit. It's beneficial in tracking and reports generation.

I recommend using Cisco Umbrella to monitor and restrict users' capability to browse.

1. Easy to set up networks and security profiles.
2. Daily threats and logs can be monitored from anywhere just by logging into the cloud dashboard.
3. Log reportings are great, and we can export the reports.
4. Fast response from the cisco team regarding any technical support.
5. We can add custom URLs to the web filtering profiles.

1. Firstly price, the umbrella solution costs more.

Recommended for those whore are more serious about extra DNS level security.
Security tool for working remotely
What do you like best about the product?
On my computer (IOS big Sur), Cisco Umbrella is a lightweight virus detective software. It won't slow me down. I have used some security software before, and they are all cumbersome. As a designer, the speed of my computer really matters.
What do you dislike about the product?
To be honest, I'm all good with Cisco Umbrella, at least during the 2-year use!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
After the COVID pandemic, our team started to work from home, and it's an issue with security problem while working remotely, our server and VPN may get the attack. Hence our IT team installed this software for all of us and used it to protect our server.

What do you like best about the product?
I really love this Umbrella feature from Cisco. We used the Umbrella feature for protecting endpoints in the office and home.
It is very easy to set up which is cloud-based and add our Home network and office network into the umbrella cloud dashboard.
No need to configure any further configuration on the endpoint side, jest we need to enter the umbrella DNS server IP! and provides very good blocking policies to restrict the user from visiting unwanted sites

Except for the price of the Umbrella, I like everything.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Before using the Umbrella feature, there is heavy internet bandwidth usage, after deploying Umbrella we restricted users from visiting high bandwidth-consuming sites and we saved some internet bills.

if you want to restrict users in-home or office from visit unwanted sites it is very useful.
