Ideal CDP for Growth Marketing Stack
What do you like best about the product?
mParticle allows us to capture data from many sources into a single platform and then distribute it as-needed to other systems that would otherwise not be able to capture it directly.
What do you dislike about the product?
Only downside: you need to know your data strategy. mParticle is powerful but its true power is harnessed through a thoughtful data strategy that directly solves use cases needed for your tech stack and team needs.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We're able to better understand our customers. Specifically, we're able to capture event data and leverage the data within those events to create segments in downstream systems to deliver 1:1 personalized communication.

Determine your data goals, work with your mParticle team to set up and implement your data strategy, and monitor your data as it comes in for meaningful and actionable insights!
Simple and effective
What do you like best about the product?
Navigating the customer data platform market can be challenging for any business, especially when your expertise is not technology. At Nova Entertainment we required a simple but effective solution to be provided by someone that understood our business. The mParticle team were incredibly attentive through the selection process and committed to helping make sure the implementation of a customer data platform in our business was a success.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not having the team located here in Australia originally was not ideal however, the mParticle team continues to grow and we take assurance from that. Connectors and integrations are always a challenging one and we did find a couple of instances where data feeds from other platforms required transforming before ingestion into mParticle.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We implemented mParticle to streamline data collection across our assets where we collect both registration and behavioural data from our audiences. The main need was to standardise that collection, collect behavioural data to then be appended to user profiles and then stream clean data to downstream platforms for activation and utilisation.
Team is very professional and the tool is very powerful to deliver on our business objectives.

The ability to target real-time audiences and help personalisation across different platforms

Not much, good all-round tool for building required outputs

Reporting on top-level company performance. Developing reports on campaign performance
Indicative focuses on providing easy tools to do inference immediately
What do you like best about the product?
Indicative's target users can include business stakeholders in building inference tools. Closer to the people that values the analytic reports.
What do you dislike about the product?
The initial learning curve to understand all the possible and potential reporting tools may need better walkthrough docs but their interactive demo helps a lot. Their support staff did best to assist us in making most of the tool and help us decide if the tool is worth it or not.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are building a new product and we are interested in a lot of engagement, user journey cohorts and funnels to understand usage and adopt based on the data we get.
A versatile tool for product analytics and more
What do you like best about the product?
We started to use it at the end of last year, but now, we adopted it in many company areas. The robustness and versatility impressed the data team. It was possible to do even more than we planned.
What do you dislike about the product?
The way we needed to tag the events was a little more confusing or work-demanding than we expected initially. Not a real problem, but a more detailed walkthrough would be helpful

Intuitive, powerful & quick, with a few glitches
What do you like best about the product?
Within less than an hour, I could create robust analyses that led to real business insight. The tools were right where I expected them and worked exactly the way I thought they would. It was blazing fast, too -- though we don't yet feed too much information into the app (primarily detailed telemetry and purchase info from ~3000 weekly active users). We have Amplitude and Tableau set up on the same dataset. Still, I don't even touch them anymore unless I need to check analyses created by others. Indicative is much more intuitive than both and order of magnitude faster than Tableau -- fast enough to allow interactive analysis and slicing & dicing the data. I even find myself going back to the raw data via Databricks less and less.
What do you dislike about the product?
There have been some problems around the data ingestion side: journey analysis had to be turned on manually, and I encountered a weird problem around funnel analysis -- but those could've been problems on our end, and our data engineering team could fix them soon. One thing I badly miss is the ability to generate 100% stacked bar charts -- it seems like something minor, yet I find myself exporting & moving data to Excel just to do this.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am analyzing telemetry data for our app after releasing it on a new platform to identify trends and pinpoint problems. So far I managed to troubleshoot problems with the onboarding funnel, pinpoint the the root cause of spikes and valleys in subscription rates and identify problem areas in the app where extensive usage tends to lead to crashes.

Not much to dislike, but it may not be that easy to use and intuitive

We only use Indicative for product analytics, and sometimes it is confusing to have different data visualization tools
