Hassle Free work with Kong
What do you like best about the product?
Kong API's helps build efficient and distributed architectures which are ready to be scaled. Kong servers work as a bridge between the client and the API. Whenever a request is made, Kong will install particular extentions which eventually enhance the API performance.
What do you dislike about the product?
Although Kong works very smoothly it sometimes is very slow to work with and takes time to process.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Kong API helped with making a low maintenance website that could takle global load

High performance, scalable and low-maintenance API
What do you like best about the product?
Very complete API management. The plugins are amazing.
What do you dislike about the product?
Kong logs integration with ELK needs some improvement. Currently no out-of-the-box solution.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Kong Gateway supports hybrid or multi-cloud infrastructure, and includes a Kubernetes-native ingress solution and support for declarative configuration management. There is sub-millisecond processing latency to support thousands of transactions per second.
An excellent service
What do you like best about the product?
Kong API is highly scalable and flexible. It has a great plugin infrastructure.
What do you dislike about the product?
The plugins in kong api need to be written in LUA and i faced a problem because it's not a common programming language.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The service helpec us boost our performance by delivering a low maintainance API management system.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It's easy to use and is a great product.
Cloud-native, easily usable and flexible API Gateway solution
What do you like best about the product?
It's easy to get started with Kong API Gateway, as there's no high learning curve. You're able to download, install and deploy the first API in a maximum of 10 minutes. I also like the Open Source mentality and the clear vision of where things are going.
In addition, Kong API Gateway provides great flexibility concerning the deployment architecture, since it is independent of a certain platform or architecture. Kong API Gateway can be deployed in a Standalone mode on a variety of Linux machines (Bare metal or Virtual machines), as Ingress Controller to a Kubernetes Cluster or in a hybrid model, separating Control and Data Planes, where the Data Plane nodes can be deployed to any Cloud or even on-Premises. This flexibility differentiates Kong API Gateway and makes it an option in a broad variety of use cases. Furthermore, the Gateway can - depending on the use case - run with a minimal resource footprint and delivers stable and high performance.
One last thing to mention concerning the development philosophy of Kong: Since everything in Kong is an API, the Gateway can be seamlessly integrated, e.g. in existing CI/CD Pipelines for automating the overall API lifecycle, which makes API delivery extremely efficient.

What do you dislike about the product?
There aren't things I don't like about Kong API Gateway.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I believe that the world is hybrid. Shortly it’ll become hybrid and Multi-Cloud. Modern software architectures must be designed accordingly to allow seamless integration and extensibility. In addition, we must not forget that we usually need to integrate the “Before-Cloud” world. I use Kong technologies to deal with the respective challenges concerning API exposure both internally, between different business domains, or even externally, to collaborate with partners and customers.
One main benefit of using Kong is that a Kong-based API Platform can be easily extended and evolved both from an architectural (e.g. extend to hybrid or Multi-Cloud use cases) as well as from a functional perspective (Custom plugins, etc.). This makes Kong API Gateway an essential technical component in every modern architecture, which can be also used independently of a certain architectural approach (Monolith, Microservices, Serverless), because of its deployment flexibility. Especially in modernization projects, this helps us to bridge the gap between the old and mostly monolithic world and the new, shiny Microservices world.

Kong Review
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to use and intuitive workflow of User Interface.
What do you dislike about the product?
Pricing can be reduced for individuals can be reduced.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Used it during one of the conferences I attended to check out the product. Didn't got chance to use it in live project, so not sure about benefits other than the nice UI.
Light and fast for almost all APIs
What do you like best about the product?
I like the Kong API. I think it is that LEGO piece that can fit anywhere. It is super light and can be deployed quickly. It provides efficient results even while it is super simple to use. My staff love using it.
What do you dislike about the product?
Due to its lightweight nature, i think some of the functionality is quite crude. It can be refined. I think with AI and other tools that are available, it can be made robust.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Load balancing, monitoring, authentication, authorization and automation. these are just the beginning. I think there is more potential of it being deployed in several other areas.
Nice product and great support
What do you like best about the product?
Quick process installation and configuration
What do you dislike about the product?
Lack of a user interface for documentation of developer portal API exposure
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Internal and external API exposition
Great user experience with Kong API Gateway
What do you like best about the product?
Kong Being an open source gateway helped to exploit the usefulness of APIs to the maximum with the support of its plugins. Applying it to pre-existing systems was very smooth and the plugins helped a lot to enhance its functions. Deployability of the same is very flexible where we could deploy it in multiple ways.
What do you dislike about the product?
The Hybrid mode in Kong was one of our concerns. There was a lack of data segregation in the CP and DP model so as each DP has proxies and routes that are dedicated to it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Solving the problem of student project submissions and plagiarism on it.
The high availability of plugins that helped in authentication and security and monitoring the progress helped in the model.
