What do you like best about the product?
I work for a digital publishing company where we provide software to turn anything print into digital. I like best the ability to review any digital piece in another browser or version of a browser. There is no way to keep up with all of the version browsers out there, so being able to log into BrowserStack to see if you can replicate an issue a client or reader is seeing is extremely helpful.
What do you dislike about the product?
What I dislike is the need to have two different licenses for web browsers and mobile devices. Being in the digital space, we expect our products to work on all devices and all browsers. By default, they should work on everything, but it's not uncommon to see something odd on one specific device or browser. Having all options at our disposal to review would be great without needing two licenses.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The problem we're solving is removing the need to have multiple computers running multiple browsers and browser versions. As mentioned earlier, if one app could also handle the mobile browsers, it would allow us not to have different mobile devices running different iOS versions. The benefit of Browserstack is we can quickly load the site and see what we need to see in any browser… a big win.
Excellent tool for Remote Work
What do you like best about the product?
There is a HUGE variety of browsers and devices a user can select from including a wide range of device models. It makes it really easy to test on different devices without needing to have them physically in front of you like our team used to do.
What do you dislike about the product?
The main browsers for testing on devices are Chrome and Safari, it would be helpful to have some of the newer browser apps available for that too like Duck to better understand how tracking is removed.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We primarily use BrowserStack for testing different email campaigns and how they will display across different devices and browsers. It's been a great time saver and an easy way to identify bugs that would have previously required us to jump through many hoops to get set up correctly. We do also use it for web testing to ensure our website works on both windows and apple devices.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
BrowserStack is a huge cost and timesaver compared to purchasing and testing on actual devices. It's extremely easy to use and also allows you ability to do screen recording on top of the program which isn't always possible on physical devices.

working remotely? App Live is for you
What do you like best about the product?
Browserstack App Live helped us during pandemic times. We have a remote-first culture in our company but never before working from home was a way for everybody. Access to testing devices was more complicated, and the Browserstack App Live feature helped us immensely. I would recommend this solution to every team working on mobile apps.

With every product, there might be some challenges, but in Browserstack there is a team dedicated to troubleshooting every issue that occurs, and they are very helpful.

What do you dislike about the product?
1. Tests getting timed out and inconsistent failures(sometimes the elements are not detected, which will work fine upon subsequent executions). It affects the confidence in the automation results
2. Percy is not that user friendly for testers(although I think it is aimed at more developer testing)
3. On the test results, it is mentioned as REST API with various statuses. Why don't you put this as Status instead? (there is another Status section which to me does not make much sense) It says COMPLETED with a green tick, but the REST API section can still be a 'FAILED'.Initially, it was confusing for me.
4.Lack of customization for test summary reports. We need one single report that can list out the selected test cases/test suites as opposed to individual test report after every suite.Consolidating them is a real challenging task.

The different variety of browser/ device support is a win. If we want to manually execute the tests on this wide range of browsers and devices, it can be an arduous task.
