Automation has transformed data quality rule creation and dashboard monitoring efficiency
What is our primary use case?
My main use case for Ataccama ONE Platform is creating data quality rules, publishing dashboards, and monitoring projects, which involves assessing all these details.
We receive requirements from BDS, and based on those requirements, we create business rules. Once BDS provides the requirement on a sheet, we validate it based on dimensions, business requirements, complexities, tables, queries involved, lookups, and other elements. If validation goes well, we conduct an initial assessment and have discussions with BDS to identify any gaps. After everything is clarified, we implement these requirements in Ataccama ONE Platform using multiple dimensions such as validity, completeness, and integrity.
What is most valuable?
In my opinion, the best features Ataccama ONE Platform offers include a user-friendly look and feel compared to other platforms. I have worked with IDQ, which is not user-friendly, making Ataccama significantly easier to use.
I find Ataccama ONE Platform easier to use compared to other platforms because the user interface and automation are interrelated. We can create workflows and monitor projects very easily, and the triggering parts are also very useful.
Ataccama ONE Platform has positively impacted our organization because before its implementation, completing tasks such as more than 100 or thousands of rules took more than a week. Now, we complete those tasks in less than two or three days due to the automation and one-time task capability.
With the dashboard reporting capability, we are creating dashboards in Tableau linked with Ataccama, allowing us to see all user interface elements without needing to change tools. We simply change tabs in Ataccama ONE Platform to access all reports, features, dashboards, daily KPIs, and monthly KPIs, which really helps us make more efficient decisions.
What needs improvement?
After using Ataccama ONE Platform, I see two significant improvements are needed. First, the monitoring project feature lacks the capability to create duplicates or copies. Second, the search functionality could be improved as it is currently not supporting searching multiple strings or combinations effectively.
Ataccama is recently integrated with Collibra, but it currently does not integrate well with IDQ and other platforms. The collaboration with Collibra is commendable.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been working in the current field for more than five years, but for the last two years, I have been working with Ataccama ONE Platform.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
Ataccama ONE Platform is stable. It does have occasional issues, but they happen infrequently, sometimes monthly or quarterly, during which we need to restart the server and contact the support team.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
Ataccama ONE Platform's scalability is effective, but it requires proper planning. We need to assess our day-to-day tasks before efficiently implementing scalability, as doing it hastily is time-consuming.
How are customer service and support?
The customer support for Ataccama ONE Platform is excellent, but it is expensive. I suggest they should introduce chat support to address cost concerns.
How would you rate customer service and support?
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
I previously used IDQ before switching to Ataccama ONE Platform, and the main reason for the switch was due to cost considerations.
What was our ROI?
We previously took one week to complete tasks, but now we are down to three days, resulting in time savings and monetary savings as well.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
I have heard that the licensing and setup costs are quite high, especially if we try to connect for a support call. It greatly impacts the company or project, which is why we avoid frequent contact with Ataccama support due to the associated costs. I believe there should be a hybrid model or chat support option available.
Which other solutions did I evaluate?
Before choosing Ataccama ONE Platform, we evaluated Collibra and IDQ as other options.
What other advice do I have?
I would rate Ataccama ONE Platform an eight out of ten.
I give it an eight because, as mentioned previously, Ataccama needs to improve a few aspects, including Ataccama ONE Desktop, monitoring projects, and searching capabilities.
For others considering using Ataccama ONE Platform, I would recommend evaluating both the pros and cons and how it can improve day-to-day operations, as it competes with Collibra, IDQ, and other SAP tools.
Before we wrap up, I request that you convey my appreciation to Ataccama for their great work. However, they need to improve certain areas such as monitoring projects, searching capabilities, and quick deployment to retain my continued business.
I think adding examples during interviews would be more beneficial. While discussing feedback, it is essential to mention competitor tools in the market to better evaluate the benefits of Ataccama compared to others.

Public Cloud
If public cloud, private cloud, or hybrid cloud, which cloud provider do you use?
Data checks have improved and now identify duplicates and missing product structures quickly
What is our primary use case?
My main use case for Ataccama ONE Platform is checking the data as I am now working on an ERP system called M3. Ataccama ONE Platform has been merged with M3, and I use it to check the data inserted into that system to verify quality and so on.
For example, I have millions of items entered into the system, and as these items have attributes to define, by checking the attributes, we could get some duplicates. Ataccama ONE Platform helps us figure out the duplicate items and remove them from the system directly.
Beyond duplicates, I also use Ataccama ONE Platform for checking the BDS, which means the product structure. The product structure is the main thing related to the item. If the item is inserted with an acquisition method like manufacturing, we should have the BDS. Ataccama ONE Platform helps us define which items entered with the acquisition code as manufacturing but also have no BDS structure. By gathering this, reviewing it according to Ataccama ONE Platform, and figuring out from the dashboard linked with Ataccama ONE Platform data gathered from it, we can define easily how many items there are and what we should do to solve issues and find more, reaching a percentage of data quality that exceeds what we have right now. We already have a lot of rules and constraints which help us raise the main percentage of data quality itself.
What is most valuable?
While I am using Ataccama ONE Platform, we have only one region for the US, and after that, we merged this into another region for the EU, European region. At the beginning, we had almost 80 percent data quality, and after using Ataccama ONE Platform, we reached 90 percent.
This 10 percent improvement means a lot for us because if you define more and more data that need to be fixed into the system quickly by using a tool, it saves time instead of manually crawling to get each type of data. You have all of it gathered by using an AI tool, so you need to check Ataccama ONE Platform first before crawling by yourself. This saves time.
What needs improvement?
I am not an expert with Ataccama ONE Platform. Currently, we have a training with someone from the system itself teaching us more about the features of Ataccama ONE Platform. However, I think the algorithms used in Ataccama ONE Platform need to be defined more and more to figure out things much more perfectly than they are now. It currently depends on the data, and it should have more constraints about the operation because sometimes you need to merge between data and operation, so you need to improve the DevOps team there.
I need to work more about the DevOps with someone who knows more about the constraint about the manufacturing system itself, not all things dependent on the data. It should be defined more about the operation because if you have a tool that defines data against the operation, the data quality will be enhanced more and more.
The speed of Ataccama ONE Platform needs to be more speedy than it is right now because it takes time to define things. However, I think if the algorithms consider constraints about the operation, the speed will be faster than it is right now. Beyond this, I don't have anything else to add because I am just a trainer right now.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using Ataccama ONE Platform for almost eight months.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
Ataccama ONE Platform is stable. Till now, it is working fine. I don't know if it will be the same in the future, as the organization and the implementation come higher and expand beyond what we have right now.
How are customer service and support?
I haven't had experience reaching out to customer support, so this question should go to the sales team.
How would you rate customer service and support?
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
In my organization, we have only used Ataccama ONE Platform. We tried a manual solution using dashboards from Power BI and Excel sheets, but not a direct data quality tool.
How was the initial setup?
We did not evaluate other options before choosing Ataccama ONE Platform.
What was our ROI?
I haven't seen a return on investment, as this is another option not related to my team. I mainly focus on manufacturing, checking the items in the system to see if they are correct or not and correcting the items themselves.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
I don't have any information about the pricing, setup cost, and licensing for Ataccama ONE Platform because I am focused on item creation. All questions about the operation and manufacturing itself and how the items or data deal within the system should go to someone from the pricing team, not me.
What other advice do I have?
Currently, I have no further information beyond what I have already shared, but in the future, as I use it more and more, I will have a strong survey about Ataccama ONE Platform. I gave this review a rating of 8.

Great for simple datasets which need to be conveyed to other systems with minimal transformation.
What do you dislike about the product?
Supporting more complex data transformations is not 'low code' / 'no code'.
It requires someone who can understand both how to code as well as how to deal with issues that can occur when the dataset is not very small, such as contention when updating downstream systems.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Very specifically, using it to allow our business to maintain reference datasets, support an approval process, and provide a method to keep the systems that need that data in sync. The audit log features allows us to show auditors who changed what and when.
