Great product for analytics, but hard to implement and maintain
What do you like best about the product?
Amplitude provides a powerful, flexible analytics platform that enables deep exploration of product usage data. The cohorting, retention, and funnel analysis tools are robust and extremely useful for understanding user behavior and guiding product decisions. I especially appreciate the user-friendly interface for non-technical stakeholders and the clear visualizations that help drive alignment across teams.
What do you dislike about the product?
The biggest challenge with Amplitude is implementation and long-term maintenance. Instrumenting events requires a high degree of coordination between product, engineering, and analytics. Even with good planning, schema drift and inconsistent naming conventions tend to creep in over time, making it harder to trust and interpret the data. Maintaining clean tracking requires significant ongoing effort.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Amplitude helps us answer key product questions around activation, engagement, and retention. It’s instrumental in helping us identify drop-off points in our funnel and run A/B tests with better insight into downstream impact. By democratizing access to product analytics, it empowers PMs and designers to make data-informed decisions without always relying on a data team.
