What do you like best about the product?
It's the speed and data integrity with IBM DB2. Looking towards z/OS & IBM hardware, ever component is custom built from ground up, leading to this power of DB2.
I hear 2/3 production issues per year on Oracle DB, compared to 1 per year on IBM DB2.

What do you dislike about the product?
Lack of rapid development in the GUI based IDEs and tools from IBM.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Banking transactions on DB2 have a very high TPS with best in class data integrity.
Excellent relational database

It is highly compact database. Highly relational database. Just a small short command and you get the most out of it

Installation and configuration of the database is very heavy.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are integrating CRM solutions to an IBM DB2 database. The benefits being simple and short commands and highly responsive DB2 servers ( no need to ping multiple times)

Good to use. Go ahead than other database systems

I would recommend the organizations to use IBM DB2 for large scale applications.

The Flexibility with speed. Allows space for doing more with minimal compromise on performance.

New arrangement takes away features to different views thereby decreasing the convenience of the user.

What do you like best about the product?
I've worked on DB2 platform for 7 years as far as i know it very simple to handle with the db2 control center, i have done many integration with Sap, Oracle and MSSQL simple few steps to fetch the data, especially i have worked on HADR and i know for sure SAP HANA has copied their Methodology of HADR

There is nothing i dislike as far as i know not even a single it crashed, i would advice DB2 have more knowledge base and stronger solutions

Day to Operations, i've never faced any critical problems

We are using DB2 to host huge financial data and create Tableau reports and dashboards out of it for data analysis. The performance have been very good

Db2 database is in-memory technology relational database & due to this in memory functionality it's processing speed is high than other traditional databases.

Due to its in memory functionality set up cost is high.

What do you dislike about the product?
A Bit archaic, usually run on Mochasoft.
Although IDEs with better interfaces are available they can be very expensive, so most mainframe projects use old Terminals which require knowledge of mainframe technologies which isn't efficient.
Example, using F7 and F8 just to scroll up and down significantly decreases efficiency.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I work on a large scale mainframe application where data received daily is in millions. Certainly allows for extremely fast and secure processing of sensitive data such as call details for a multination telecommunication provider.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Use only if the volume of data is huge, otherwise stick to others as learning and using mainframe technology can be challenging.
