Secure RDBMS. Good Support community.
What do you like best about the product?
Querying is fast for large chunks of data. Legacy systems without referential integrity are fast when compared to opensource DBs like Sybase.
Updates and Security Patches are released in a controlled manner and it is easy to plan around it.
Java Method Support is good to use. DB2 IBM support is good. Any issues will be addressed quickly.

What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing that I can think of . Really cant say any difference between DB2 and the other DBs in the market like Oracle and MySQL.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Data which have to be stored for legal requirements for 30+ years are saved using DB2.
DB2 - a great database
What do you like best about the product?
Its a solid database which has been in place for decades and I expect it to stay
What do you dislike about the product?
I am not sure what are the cons of using DB2 over oracle
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Its a database which is used to support various apps and its working well overall
DBaas
What do you like best about the product?
If I have to be honest, using IBM Db2 Hosted doesn't make any sense. It is not bad, it a relational DBMS and helps in scalability due to it being hosted on the cloud. However, as it is by IBM thus integrating it with other frameworks and services is not as easy as configuring Amazon's DynamoDb for the same effort. Else it just does the work, slightly more efforts.
What do you dislike about the product?
As mentioned above, it is not very seamless when it comes to integration with other services and frameworks. This makes the overall procedure a pain!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Building an application using IBM Db2 Hosted as a service. We had to use it due to the client mainframe and IBM Db2 integration requirements. Else would any day go for DynamoDB
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you can then go for Dynamo or MS SQL based DB.
A good RDBMS
What do you like best about the product?
It's a really good database which lets me save and fetch desired information at will using basic queries.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing specific to be disliked, it does what it says, if you are looking for a SQL based Relational DB then go for it!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I used it for saving user information and other drivers feedback when i created my driver feedback system app.
Easy to use and navigate
What do you like best about the product?
It is easy to use and I can navigate well in the program.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are times where I get glitches in the program. I’m not sure if it’s an internet connection on my mind or whether it’s the program. Otherwise, great to use.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I can’t think of any business problems with Db2.
Standards compliant, Feature depraved.
What do you like best about the product?
I like being able to query for table schemas.
What do you dislike about the product?
Clunky dated interface. Slow load times when loading schemas in the DB manager. Not having full control to terminate queries I started. The documentation has little useful information or is confusing. If you are writing ad hoc queries
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I mostly aggregate data for individual customers across our data warehouse. We display this aggregated data in our customer service applications
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you're about to embark into the world of DB2, I would suggest brushing up on ANSI SQL and do not expect any of the nice things you come to expect from platforms like MSSQL. The ability to use on the fly variable declarations when querying gave me some significant heart ache when I first started out. You end up learning ways around it, but in this day and age, I don't feel you should have to.
Gels best with IBM frameworks
What do you like best about the product?
Ebcdic format conversions are in-built, smooth integration with mainframe datasets
What do you dislike about the product?
Works only with IBM infrastructure - not very helpful if you need to integrate with Microsoft SQL or other data servers
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Building a staging area for the Mainframe datasets
IBM Db2 has been great, it is very user friendly and is perfect for what we use it for.
What do you like best about the product?
I like that we can connect to the server remotely. I is also very user friendly and operationally offers the best cloud deployment options. It offers fast performance with the flexibility of on-premises, cloud and integrated appliance deployments.
What do you dislike about the product?
I can say that I really don't have any complaints on this data management software, it does what we need it to do, is fast and easy to use.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use it to keep track of sales, customer information, and track inventory.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
You should definitely try it.
Amazing DB2 experience
What do you like best about the product?
We use it on Mainframes. Very easy to use and good plugins with JAVA.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing to mention at this moment. Very easy to use for developers
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

IBM DB2 on Cloud
What do you like best about the product?
Did you know IBM DB2 can be hosted on cloud? Yes. Many companies are now avoiding the risks of maintaining there server onsite & instead hosting it on cloud. Its used as Disaster recovery option too.
IBM DB2 is the fastest in terms of data processing. No other can beat it.
