What do you like best about the product?
I don't really care for the IBM suite of products. The Oracle platform is much better.
What do you dislike about the product?
The complexity of the console that manages the database schema is not necessary.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use it for our backend data scehmas for inventory control.

What do you like best about the product?
Easy to install and deploy. Supported by multiple operating platforms. Good online community support available.
What do you dislike about the product?
Database size limitations and lack of standard monitoring tool.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our Enterprise data warehouse is on db2. We have been able to store data from multiple sources in a centralized location.

What do you like best about the product?
Flexibility to support mainframe applications (DB2 z/os) as well as distributed applications (UDB).
What do you dislike about the product?
Does not work as good as Teradata for processing large amounts of data.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Many of our legacy mainframe applications have mainframe db2 databases.

What do you like best about the product?
Processing Speed, Security are the best features of IBM DB2.
What do you dislike about the product?
Database Access tools are not at par compared to other tools available for SQL.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Insurance application, benefits are with integrated database we get best Speed & Security. from IBM DB2.

An intuitive database language

What do you like best about the product?
Its syntax is different from the traditional SSMS or MySQL and hence it makes it unique to work with. Works faster with IBM Software tools.
What do you dislike about the product?
If you are someone who has always worked on SQL Server, it would be a little typical to catch on.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We carried out trainings on db2 to work with a project. I am a db2 certified associate.

What do you like best about the product?
IBM DB2 was easy to use. The syntax was quite similar to oracle sql so easy to pick up if you have oracle sql knowledge
What do you dislike about the product?
i ran into many installation issues. Sometimes when i launch the tool, it would display error "couldn't launch setup.exe". After trouble shooting and reading online forums, i was asked to go into a specific folder in the installation folders and delete a file.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I felt like oracle is better as per infrastructure supporting an application is concerned

Can handle high volume of data.

Drivers are easy to install.

Software installation is complex.
Sometime not compatible with the application developed in Java.

What do you like best about the product?
I love the fact that this product works well with our GOV systems. Working for TSA & Homeland Security tends to put a hinder on what you can actually use on machines.
What do you dislike about the product?
I really cant say i dislike a lot about it except the login process is sometimes tedious as our tokens tend to lock on login most times.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are solving the EDW database initiative as well as EDWPRD database initializing for Windows 10 from 7.

Maintains itself good.
Use of NEARSYNC, ASYNC and High Availability Disaster Recovery models give a range of options for maintaining a very high uptime ratio.
Automatic storage help keep your data segmented

Not easy to configure.
Complex configuration.
Compatibility on different platforms.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I used it to pull from that data pool with minimal response times.

What do you like best about the product?
It best suited for enterprise businesses which require a low cost, low maintenance solution for improved transnational DB queries to fulfill the business requirement on a frequent basis
What do you dislike about the product?
Require improvement in data manipulation and query processing. Could use a simple user interface.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Using DB2 for cognos report back end. For the people who are unfamiliar with SQL it can be a little difficult to learn.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Use it if you require a product with low cost and maintenance. If not, go for SQL.
