Used datastage for ETL process
What do you like best about the product?
It offers many features and does the ETL process relatively well
What do you dislike about the product?
The whole interface is outdated, due a update to modern gui expectations.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Extracting data from SAP to SQL server

What do you like best about the product?
Easy to learn, use and develop in delivering business applications.
What do you dislike about the product?
Lack of marketing by IBM to promote the power systems.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We build custom licensing and permitting applications using free-form RPG running on an IBM i power server. Rock-solid security 2nd to none.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Best platform to run DB2 in on IBM power running i5/OS (AS/400) operating system.
Solid database
What do you like best about the product?
Being on an IBM AS400 server means you can sleep well at night and not have to worry about the server crashing.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not very flexible table structure. Hard to find any more talent.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our enterprise system runs on DB2, all the transactions we process flow through this server.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
This system requires little maintenance and patching.

What do you like best about the product?
DB2 Database is the best for enterprise wise with optimised performance as well as low cost.
What do you dislike about the product?
Till now what I found most is the DB2 Database Administrators are very less as compare to other DBs, besides I can say the support and the quality is very good of DB2 DB.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Enterprise wise best suit to business with low cost, low maintenance with improved transnational db queries to fulfil the business requirement on frequent basis.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
The excellent DB for compression to manage the huge DB size with in-memory feature with easy to install, configure, use with low cost and low administration , I highly recommend one to use DB in the landscape

Outdated database with terrible support
What do you like best about the product?
Frankly for enterprise database product it does what it is supposed. It has a reasonably functional database engine. Its stays consistent with standard SQL and is relatively stable.

What do you dislike about the product?
Very few upgrades over the years, usually upgrades are not backward compatible. Deployment usually results in large validation cycles and have resulted in rollbacks causing disruptions.
Performances is average, and doesn't leverage many of the advances in technologies.
Database Management tool set is primitive
Product Documentation is not at par with any of competitor.
Getting support from IBM is a nightmare.
Getting Right set of developers with experience in IBM DB2 is difficult

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Its an Enterprise DB with out bells and whistles. It was one of the better Database System decades ago. Currently organizations are trying to see how we can move away from it.

There are many better systems available in the market
