IBM DB2
What do you like best about the product?
If you know basic SQL, IBM DB2 is very easy to learn and work.
Effective database to create manage using files, tables, logical files. Secured and optimized.

What do you dislike about the product?
The green screen based approach is being replaced with tools like RDi. That is better. In green screen that is old UI
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am able to use stored procedures, SQL queries I can save and reuse. I can manage huge data for enterprise applications using files. I am able to use standard SQL queries and create update delete database which is worldwide accepted. DB2 in 400 i am using.

Db2 a data management solution
What do you like best about the product?
DB2 is used in data warehousing solutions for ETL purpose to store, analyze and retrieve the data efficiently. It can also be used for semi- structured data i.e, XML and is extremely fats as compared to other traditional databases.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is scalable but version control, expanding hardware capacity is quite painful, required outage etc.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I was using it in one of the organisations for data warehousing solutions for ETL purposes to store, analyze and retrieve the data efficiently.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you want to opt for traditional RDS then go for it otherwise the cloud offerings like Snowflake etc make more sense in the current world.

What do you like best about the product?
the most helpful thing about this database is the excellent performance and advanced database operations can be performed easily. I used this database for smooth transaction processing of the customer's data and found it reliable.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are few of the disadvantages of this database are as below.
It doesn't have modern connectivity which sometimes creates problems.
The worst thing is, outage requires every version upgrade and performing some other activities too.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I used this database for the customer's tractional data storing and performed several database operations, it always gives better performance and is highly reliable at the same time.

What do you like best about the product?
It's data warehouse, it supports a lot of data types and analytical function for which are very useful for data warehousing projects.
What do you dislike about the product?
One thing I dislike about ibm db2? Is there such a thing exist? Like this software/program is easy to use to complain for.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helps me managing databases accurately. it benefits both end user and programmer. since it helps you to work easier, it will help you to become more productive and less stress.

I suggest to all people out there if you haven't tried this I tell you it's worth to try for.

If you use it as transactional database its very helpful and db2 syntax very easy to remember also configuration very easy to set up

What do you like best about the product?
I have used DB2 with my mainframe project, retriveval and insertion of data was very quick and seamless , best database to use for faster process performance.It has very low latency compared to other DB's.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing to dislike , it's the best to use DB from what I've experienced , the support provided by IBM is also quick .

I have been using it in airlines application backend , have seens it's exceptional availability and scalability.Its ability to process large documents is good.Runs and scales well on IBMs power-based platforms
DB2 Recommendation
What do you like best about the product?
Accesibility,Accessibility, and simplification. Gets multiple things queries at the same time and also the search is faster as it allow user to skip the query and get the result quickly by performing search on multiple columns at the same time across the tables.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing as such..I am using this product from quite a few time now and it looks almost perfect to me which makes my life easier.

On day to day projwct related queries.moatly dealing with claims related data through multiple table DB2 allows to query fast on timely basis.

What do you like best about the product?
I like the performance of db2 and it's features which attracts easy implementation of db level operations.

It associated with huge front cost so it's not possible for startups and small organisations to use it without any thoughts like cloud dbs.

I used to solve all e commerce related data problems and analytics on top of this data.
DB2 is not the best but does the work.

Compatible top with multiple software versions. Widely used by many clients.

Slower compared to oracle versions, little older db.

Fast and compatible with other IBM Products
What do you like best about the product?
I mostly work on Java applications working on WebSphere and the integration of DB2 with both the software is quite easy and effective. We have never faced an trouble with this. It is also supported for Mainframe programs which gives the additional benifits that we can do batch processing in Mainframe.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some query syntaxes are a bit different than other competitors so migrating them to DB2 requires code changes and requires testing of all the queries. This is a time-consuming task.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have a REST API Based application which as a database uses DB2 in the background. The DB2 allows us to manage data using direct queries or using Stored procedures. Mostly we prefer using it with some ORM framework and executing the queries. It helps us to manage our data into DB2 and the relationships between those.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are using other IBM products like WebSphere and Mainframe too. The integration with IBM DB2 is very good.
