Best tool to streamline file transfers
What do you like best about the product?
The most helpful part of GoAnywhere is the how to guidelines that are provided in the site. You have a solution for most file transfer issues! When it comes to automation, it’s very user friendly and straightforward! This tool reduced my need for an overnight team since it took care of processing jobs at odd times.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are time when the alerts will fill up your inbox, if a job fails it will continue to try and send you emails over and over of its failure.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Automation of file transfers. The problem that is solving is the need to have 4-5 employees overnight, with this tool, I only need 1 person in call in case something fails.
Ensure a strong file transfer capability with support for modern connectors.
What do you like best about the product?
Ease of use, very quick development time, efficient and scalable management transfer solution.
What do you dislike about the product?
not very good support for complex transformation, especially with XML file types.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Automated, efficient, and secure file transfers between different internal and external systems with good logging.
Our file transfers are now so much more secure
What do you like best about the product?
I found it interesting that GoAnywhere MFT makes secure file transfers so simple. It’s actually quite user friendly, and works really well with our existing software and I can really automate workflows really simply. One great feature is the centralized dashboard, where I can see file transfers and beep alerts to make sure I know what’s going on. We’ve really integrated it with our cloud storage and ERP systems to really optimize our workflow and save a ton of time we used to spend doing manual tasks.
What do you dislike about the product?
GoAnywhere MFT has many features, but I don’t like how time consuming it is to set up when you’re integrating with other software systems. Although there could perhaps have been clearer documentation in other places the setup was a little trial & error. Moreover, large file transfers sometimes are glitchy, and can bog down the software. It’s had an effect on our workflow when wading through larger volumes because it becomes less efficient.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
With GoAnywhere MFT, we’ve moved away from handling file transfers in any shape or form and have turned to safely sending sensitive data. It encrypts everything and solves the problem of unsecured file transfers and also provides compliance with mandatory standards. The manual monitoring that used to take place was eliminated by automation, because this has lowered errors. It saves us time, which means our team can get more done and our files are safe, which makes working with clients a whole lot smoother.
Great MFT product, Support could use some work.
What do you like best about the product?
It does what you need it to do.
GoAnywhere is a system I "inherited" from one of my co-workers, but it is a product that I truly like, even though I did not test and select it.
I like the GUI, it is clean and organized so it is easy to find what you need. I find myself just randomly looking at features to see what else the program can do.
Besides, the basic sending and retreiving of files, I have used their "double" scheduling, customized the error logging, write custom job logs to email, use monitors, and trigger files, renamed files, used conditionals, loops, used pgp encryption and decryption, certificate based logins, read/wrote files, and a lot more that I don't recall right now.
I've had a lot of requests, some of them odd, some of them stupted be for a few days, but I was always able to figure it out. Bottom line is that GoAnywhere just works,

What do you dislike about the product?
Support. Getting information on how to use the product and features is difficult. At one point it looked like they had a nice support forum going, where customers could post questions and support or other customers would answer. That unfortunatley was closed and is in a read only state. There is still a lot of good information there.
In addition, working with support is a hassle. Their ticketing system is not integrated with email, so conversations you have with support personnel is not logged in the system unless you cut and paste it in there. Also it feels like anytime you ask support a question about how to use the product or how the product works, they automatically refer you to professional services for a paid engagement. They need to understand the difference between the customer asking them to write a project versus the customer asking for help to be able to write the project.

What do you like best about the product?
I think the UI is intuitive and easy to learn. Having all sorts of connect resources, the ability to create workflows and schedule them at ease is very good. It is overall very comprehensive for file transfer.
What do you dislike about the product?
Better and more thorough product documentations and learning resources would be helpful.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is solving the problem of automating file transfers internally and externally across all departments of our company.
GoAnywhere MFT product experience
What do you like best about the product?
The creation and automation of workflows are pretty simple in GoAnywhere MFT. The job logs are very helpful for troubleshooting.
The in-built webclient feature really gives a user-friendly web interface for the end users to upload or download the files still maintaining high level of security.
The challenges with email attachments are well addressed by the secure email feature.
The agent feature is an added advantage for those who do not have the knowledge capability to make use of any communication protocol for uploading the files to the GoAnywhere MFT server.
The AD integration, cloud and other Integrations, multifactor authentication are of very much help.
Enabling Active-Active clustering on multiple nodes can be easily achieved.
Through File Manager feature, the super users not necessarily have to login to the server to explore the filesystem.
Secure Forms, if used efficiently can help in creation of our own web interfaces.
Overall, I like every feature available in the product.

What do you dislike about the product?
Many users prefer to utilize the webclient but as it makes use of https protocols, it has it's own limitations to upload or download files.
Some users ask for key based login(password less) for webclient which I see is hard to achieve with GoAnywhere MFT.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Secure file transfers through the automated workflows using SFTP protocol.
GoAnywhere Enterprise Solution
What do you like best about the product?
GoAnywhere is an extremely versatile and multi-faceted MFT tool. I have yet to run into something that it can't do. And we've barely the scratched the surface of using it for automation & API integration. We've also been able to have it integrate with our AWS, GCP and SharePoint environments easily. I've had to engage help and support on many instances and they have always provided great assistance in a timely manner. Would recommend GoAnywhere with two thumbs up
We use it daily for 100s of a job between various environments. It was easy to transfer old jobs to it and integrate new jobs. The implementation was helped by the support team at Fortra providing expert advice.
Overall its a great & versatile tool. Bit of a learning curve (especially if you haven't done any object oriented programming before). But the biggest strength is that it integrates really well with older systems (FTP environments, on-prem servers) and also with newer cloud environments (SharePoint, AWS, GCP)

What do you dislike about the product?
Occasionally, some of the more advanced functions within cloud environments are still being developed. So while Fortra is quick to add things in we have had some delays waiting for an exact feature or integration to be improved.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have to transfer tons of files between different financial institutions and oursleves. GoAnywhere provides the tool necessary to automate these processes securely. I have the assurance that no matter what environment, protocol, cert or encryption someoene else is using - I can do it in GoAnywhere.
Solid MFT solution
What do you like best about the product?
GoAnywhere is fully functional for sFTP transfers between third parties and your company. Offers industry-standard ways of encrypting the data and relatively easy to use.
What do you dislike about the product?
Customer support can take a while to respond. I often have to escalate my requests to my customer success rep.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
File transfer inter and intra company.

What do you like best about the product?
I appreciate the ease of use of GoAnywhere MFT. I found the installation process to be straightforward and simple. The user interface is intuitive, making it easy to navigate and manage file transfers efficiently. The comprehensive documentation and support resources available also contribute to a smooth user experience.
What do you dislike about the product?
However, I am not fond of the complex and outdated licensing system. The product could benefit from a simpler pricing model. The current licensing structure can be confusing and may deter potential users from fully leveraging the capabilities of GoAnywhere MFT. Additionally, the cost associated with the licenses can be quite high, which might not be justifiable for smaller organizations.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
GoAnywhere MFT is solving several key problems for us. Firstly, it has significantly simplified the management of file transfers. The platform's user-friendly interface and automation capabilities make it easy to schedule, monitor, and manage file transfers efficiently. This has saved us a considerable amount of time and reduced the risk of errors associated with manual file transfers.
Additionally, GoAnywhere MFT offers modern security features that ensure our data is protected during transit and at rest. The robust encryption and secure protocols provide peace of mind, knowing that our sensitive information is safe from unauthorized access and potential breaches.

Me and MFT
What do you like best about the product?
The simplicity of implmentation and learning the product. Creating projects and resources is semi-intuitive, as long as you have a basic understanding of workflows and sudo code. Each page you navigate to has a helpful "?" you can click on to get full details on all options available for use.
What do you dislike about the product?
We really like the product, but support has declined over the past few years. I believe this is primarily due to the product’s growing popularity and an insufficient support team to handle all technical requests. Additionally, since we are on the IBM i system, I feel that much of the IBM i expertise has been lost over time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
GoAnywhere is solving all of our workflow automation in a common language (XML) that helps us interconnect multiple systems of different types.
