Lacework reduces the Barriers to Success when tackling the Complexities of Cloud Security
What do you like best about the product?
Lacework normalizes visibility in the cloud, promoting better detection and response in a complex and constantly evolving threat landscape. Seeing value immediately after deployment is a significant advantage of the Lacework Platform. This immediate ROI allows even the most inexperienced members of a security team to be an active part of addressing cloud security risks. Lacework is also a true hybrid cloud security platform, allowing organizations to follow the migration lifecycle from on-prem to the cloud, maintaining visibility throughout the entire journey. In addition, with the numerous integrations that Lacework provides, security teams gain full A-to-Z visibility across the whole technology stack, providing the breadth and depth of telemetry data that is needed to successfully address cloud environments.
What do you dislike about the product?
My only issue with the platform is the lack of a custom reporting capability and the need to augment this gap with other tools like a SIEM. While this isn't a show-stopper or an attribute that would diminish the overall value the platform provides, it can be challenging when trying to focus on extracting information that meet specific needs.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Eliminating the systemic signal-to-noise problem in cloud environments, providing relevant and actionable events without the considerable overhead of approaching this with traditional techniques. Lacework has allowed security teams with little to no experience in the cloud the ability to apply security principles while also educating them on the various technology relationships that only exist in the cloud that pose new security risks to the business.

The compliance tools help make auditing systems very easy.
What do you dislike about the product?
Constantly changing UI makes for difficult navigation.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Help keeping our company compliant with security standards. It is great to pop in and check if anything falls out of compliance.
Lacework = Cloud Security
What do you like best about the product?
Lacework gives us the visibility we require to maintain and improve the security of our SaaS platform. Lacework's alerts are high fidelity, low noise, and highly reliable.
What do you dislike about the product?
Lacework's UI isn't immediately intuitive and could use some work.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Lacework gives us visibility into many vital areas of our platform that we otherwise wouldn't have. We must be alerted about cloud user activity and workload user/process/network activity. Without that visibility, our cloud security program would have significant gaps. The automation that Lacework facilities with its native integrations, as well as its highly mature APIs, allow us to automate every single alert they create. Lacework has also allowed us to integrate security testing into many stages of our SDLC, giving us control over what can be pushed to production, given any security concerns that Lacework notices.
Lacework has been an excellent tool for us to get ahead of vulnerabilities, compliance and polices.
What do you like best about the product?
Lacework gives us insight into an alert. Helps us better investigate and get to the root cause in minumim time.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not be able to edit policies better. Help get rid of unwanted alerts.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Lacework helps us solve the problem of getting timely and benefits us in getting better alerting and getting ahead of any potential cyber attacks.
A great tool with what you would expect
What do you like best about the product?
The compliance reports and the IDS fulfill our needs from the tool
What do you dislike about the product?
There can be times of alert fatigue, and with that are false-positive alerts
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The problem that lacework solves is the visibility and detection of intrusion
Lacework is a comprehensive security solution
What do you like best about the product?
What we highly value about Lacework is its ability to deliver comprehensive security insights into our AWS resources. It goes beyond surface-level monitoring and provides detailed visibility into network communication, low-level changes, and vulnerability assessment on EC2 instances. This in-depth analysis enables us to proactively identify potential security risks, detect anomalies, and enhance our overall defense posture.
What do you dislike about the product?
During our experience, we faced challenges when formulating a strategy to deploy the Lacework agent across all EC2 and Fargate instances within our AWS organization. It is worth noting that the deployment process might not be as straightforward as anticipated. However, we are pleased with the range of tools and support offered by Lacework. These resources proved invaluable in navigating the complexities of the deployment process and ensuring successful implementation.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Lacework addresses the challenge of comprehensive visibility and monitoring across AWS resources. By providing deep insights into network communication, low-level changes, and resource behavior, Lacework allows us to detect and respond to security issues effectively.
bzhang hillhouse lacework review
What do you like best about the product?
Excellent experience, able to detect anomalies in a timely manner and make judgments based on behavior
What do you dislike about the product?
It is better if you can detect the tag we set for each EC2
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Lacework can find anomalies user behavior based on agent and cloudtrial log and give use timely alert everyday. And can help us to locate where is the event and how to remediate it.
Single platform for security monitoring
What do you like best about the product?
What I like the most about Lacework is its ability to ingest data from multiple sources (cloudtrail logs, ECR scan, eks audit logs, vuln scan result from agents, etc...) and correlate them to give our team a good picture of what is going on in our environment. Lacework keeps releasing new features that will make its platform more comprehensive. Besides, the Lacework customer support team is excellent. All of our concerns and issues are addressed promptly
What do you dislike about the product?
- Lacework is a monitoring platform. It does not offer any mechanism to remediate the findings.
- LQL (language to query lacework data) is still a work in progress
- Findings can include false positives, and there is no suitable mechanism to safelist similar findings (e.g., alerts about a certain service reaching out to different burp collaborator domains)
- The Web UI is clunky at times, but changes are coming (as we are told)

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helps us correlate activities and events within our cloud environments (AWS, GCP) and gives us what it deems to be the most relevant events. It saves us time from triaging events
Cloud-native Threat Detection at its best
What do you like best about the product?
Lacework provides you with a comprehensive view of your entire cloud infrastructure including (service) accounts as well as the posture of containers and hosts. Lacework is easy to setup and maintain while being a massive help in our ability to understand Threats within the enviorment and correlating factors.
What do you dislike about the product?
The UI can feel buggy at times (e.g. when trying to setup reports) and difficult to get used to, when based on alert types, a slightly different menu is presented.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Getting visbility into all cloud assets is a challange of its own. With Lacework you can get this out of the box easily and cover multiple aspects of security (solutions) all in one.
