Dynamic web builder for dummies (and geniuses)
What do you like best about the product?
intuitive interface with many sophisticated templates and features. Wix works hard at staying current with design trends and the overall look and feel of their websites.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some positioning guides and tools for placement of objects could be more refined, but not too bad. SEO tools not very helpful.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have frequently changing content and a lot of information to present and Wix solves the problem of how we present the information in a logical and appealing manner.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Wix is complete enough to deliver complex, sophisticated websites with most of the latest innovations and applications. If you want to control the build of your site internally, this is a great piece of software.
Easy Software to Build Wesbites
What do you like best about the product?
Easy templates. Changes can be made quickly. Professional looking.
What do you dislike about the product?
The app does not let you update articles, or make changes.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Have a blog with WIX. Adds validity to my other social media changes. Inexpensive.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Easy. Inexpensive.
Wix - Worst Customer Service Ever
What do you like best about the product?
Wix had provided an easy and inexpensive website hosting platform...until they upgraded me without my consent and did not follow through on their customer service promises.
What do you dislike about the product?
I have used WIX for years with no issue. Suddenly I see I am upgraded to premium, which I did not want, and am paying 4 times as much per month. I chatted with a CS agent who told me to cancel the premium, sign up again as basic, and that I would get a refund. I requested a refund per her suggestion. She ended the chat before I finished, after I asked how to resign up, and then the refund was denied. Beware of this company and their ability to suddenly upgrade you with no direct method of downgrading (per the CS representative) Looking for a new provider.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I have a website linked to my URL that I can update easily without paying a third party. But beware of upgrades without knowing it
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Wix is the easiest website builder to use that I have found. I did a lot of research before using this and have never regretted the decision. Inexpensive and anyone can do it.
Very intuitive for beginners but has live issues and support with no solutions
What do you like best about the product?
Of the major DIY website builders (between Weebly and Squarespace), Wix is definitely at the top of my list for ease of use. I would guarantee that most people would be able to create a complete website with some hours over a weekend (I created 3 websites using Wix and one was done easily overnight). There's also a good variety and paid versions. Wix support is available in an open forum format online and it's nice to be able to see other's support chats online as well. There are a lot of third party widgets and tools you can buy which can be hit or miss.
What do you dislike about the product?
Support is readily available but actual solutions to issues are not. I contacted support for help repeatedly about my website's formatting being incorrect depending on where it was being viewed. Basically there were some layout issues (which is pretty common) causing blocks of text to be hidden. Of course we went through their troubleshooting from testing on different browsers, different devices, different screen resolutions, etc..... it's was frustrating to say the least. Before the time of this writing, they didn't even have SSL certifications available for websites which was my final straw in light of Google's requirement for secure data in Chrome. Also, despite the ease of use, there is arguably too much control in the user's hands and therefore it feels a tad unstable (think: iOS vs Android), you can literally have elements all over the place which is very different than the limited amount of control that companies such as Squarespace provides.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I used both the free and paid versions for both work and personal uses.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
View your website on various devices, browsers, and in various resolutions, because there is a chance that some viewing your page may not be seeing the same thing you see when you're in the editor. As easy as it is to make the pages "yours" and be adventurous with elements, don't waste your time because it's possible that the editor mode is giving you an expectation that won't come into fruition when it goes live.
Wix is ideal for getting your website up and running but its not perfect
What do you like best about the product?
With wix you can get a professional looking website done in hours instead of days or weeks. The simply drag and drop feature allows you to really focus on your branding. There are a ton of additional features in the apps which can improve your site all without having to worry about coding or worrying about if they will not work or not. Another great feature is its price, if you get the base package or get a deal it can be very very cheap to host and mange.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are a few main things that really annoy me with wix
1: The amount of times uploading a photo or trying to publish the website and it does nothing is way more than I would like
2: The apps while so good can be very annoying as you can add pretty much any app onto the website but most need additional payment, if you add many of these apps it can mount up so make sure you keep an eye on that.
3: It is not perfect! Wix is so ideal for small to medium sizes business, and it really reflects that within the price however once it starts to kick off esp if you have the online store I would highly recommend maybe seeing what other apps are there to help you, or move onto another platform like Shopify or getting a web devloper in.
4: Know coding? this wont help you so much sadly, with a program like dreamweave you are able to add additional code to any page, with wix they really stop anything that falls outside of what they allow you to do. For someone who has a small amount of coding and web design experience it can be annoying as it wouldnt be a big feature to add.

Updating and maintaining the website is so simple. All websites should have a blog because of the SEO and now there is a free app that you can download and do on the fly which is very simple. Pretty much re-designing the website or adding or taking away aspects can be done within the day in a professional manner.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are on a budget and need a professional looking website, we highly recommend using wix. Take it as far as you can and build up that capital which you will gain from your website and your business then if you do need to move away do so, or try to add onto it. You can go onto wix now and even get a free website if you don't mind some of the wix branding. The main benefit of wix is that it allows a buisness to grow from almost nothing. Highly recommend.
Good for a beginning website
What do you like best about the product?
It is very easy to use and and easy to make look professional. Very good to use for a personal website or a beginning company. The templates make it easy for someone who not really worked with web design before.
What do you dislike about the product?
Although it is easy to use, it is not very customizable. This is why it may not be best for big businesses or larger websites - at least the free version.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I created my first personal website on it, before I had much web design experience. It was great to begin creating my personal brand. It gave me a stepping stone for my career in marketing. All of my coworkers created their sites on Wix as well.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Good for beginners to web design! Easy to use, but not very customizable.
Intuitive Interface, Easy to Design
What do you like best about the product?
This was much easier to use than other web builders I've had experience with. I was editing the website very quickly, without having to constantly search for answers to questions online.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes the interface was a bit overwhelming (there are so many panels/buttons), but not awful.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We were able to pull together a much sleeker, easier-to-use design that could be edited by all members of our staff.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Go for it if you don't have coding experience and want an easy way to build a quick website.
Easy to Use, Great Platform
What do you like best about the product?
Wix is easy to use for someone starting to learn web design for the first time. Plenty of opportunities to preview things without making perminent changes, so you can play around with settings and options and better learn the system without committing to a design change that you won't be able to see.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not quite as many preset theme options as with other platforms.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Great to be able to have control of our own website and make changes as we need to. A little slower to learn initially but in the long run the customizability makes it worth while.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Wix is worth it! Great to be able to preview changes and see things move around as you make edits, especially when you're just starting to learn coding and web design. Wix takes a bit more work on the front end but long term it's completely worth it!
Perfect for marketers
What do you like best about the product?
Wix is a great platform to create good looking website and can easily be used by marketers to create basic website.
What do you dislike about the product?
When you create a Wix website, you'll have to have your website hosted by Wix on their slow server and pay for it. Since Wix is a WYSWYG service, the look looks great, but the code behind it is not as clean as what a programmer would do.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I created websites at a low cost for small companies.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you want to create a low budget website easily, well Wix is the platform you're looking for. It is perfect for small companies.
Don't waste your time.
What do you like best about the product?
The only thing I like is the ease of uploading photos.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike - the pickiness of the program, the inability to change anything, the poor options, and the overly generic designs. They also have no way of backing up your site, which is unacceptable, in my opinion.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are able to easily send newsletters to distribution list.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Really consider what you need and want and make sure they can do this.
