Easy Templates, Better for Designers
What do you like best about the product?
I love the easy to use templates, but, I have a hard time with adjusting the color schemes. I feel as though a graphic designer would be better equipt to use Wix. If they offered templates but allowed you to choose a color palette (they do offer that, but limited options), it might work better. Also, some of their apps crash.
What do you dislike about the product?
Apps crashing and not loading. Forum and QA especially.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Lack of web design knowledge- easy templates to plug and play.
Couldn't be easier to create a website
What do you like best about the product?
The sheer simplicity of it. You start by picking a template from hundreds of different choices. Picking the best one that suits your needs. Then it's a simple matter of editing. The layout is fantastic and so incredibly easy to navigate. No web design skills needed
What do you dislike about the product?
Even though it's incredibly flexible, there are a few small annoying things. The first is the lack of customization with font. You only get a few to deal with which means you are limited, especially if your brand uses a different font. The second is the photo importing is a little to much work. I would like to see a simple drag and drop
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We needed to re-brand our website. It was very out of touch. Wix allowed us to create a new brand and website with very minimal effort
Best value for money website builder if you're a DIY kind-of business owner
What do you like best about the product?
Extremely user friendly, near on no previous html experience needed.
What do you dislike about the product?
It does lack in a few areas of functionality and normally they don't add new features unless lots of users demand or 'vote' for it to be implemented.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Created my own personal blog and my partner's business website from scratch. Easy to connect to Google Analytics too for reporting purposes.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Try the free product first and if you love it upgrade to the paid version. Worth it.
Great for protfolios
What do you like best about the product?
The set up of a Wix page is extremely easy. There is a template for everything that you may need. Also, there are several pre-made sites that you can modify to fit your needs.
What do you dislike about the product?
Wix is not user-friendly on phones or tablets.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The Wix site was set up to showcase photoshop skills and graphic design similar to an art portfolio.

There were a lot of options if you just want a simple website.

I was advertising my organization. More people knew about the organization and applied for it after I created the website.

What do you like best about the product?
This was incredibly easy to use and helped me build a beautiful website quickly and allowed me to launch without any problems!
What do you dislike about the product?
It's a little confusing when choosing a plan. I purchased a domain elsewhere and am having problems finding a plan that fits the need to migrate to that domain.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Before Wix, I just had social media sites. Now I have a stunning page that I am proud to promote!

Do not buy your domain elsewhere. You can purchase through wix!
User Friendly, Basic Controls, Good for Non-designers to create Good looking website
What do you like best about the product?
Wix is super easy to use. If you're looking to create a basic landing page it is perfect. Makes you look like a designer with its customizable templates. I love the ability to put power into the hand of the user and the fact that you can use the basic version for free.
What do you dislike about the product?
There aren't as many customization options as I have seen other places. Overall, I built a few different landing pages to play around and get familiar with it but it didn't look as professional as other sites. I have used Wordpress and Squarespace for both personal and business ventures, which I have had better overall results with.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I tried out Wix to host my personal website which I use as my portfolio as an alternative to Squarespace, which is super expensive. I was going to use it as an extension of my Squarespace portfolio as a landing page for my freelance work of photography, design, and marketing consulting. I decided for now that since I spent so much time and effort into building my Squarespace profile, I would stick with that. That being said $20 a month for the student option of Squarespace isn't fun when considering how few people are probably going to my site. I would still consider moving back to Wix in the future when I have more time to rebuild my site.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you want a simple landing page or personal portfolio, Wix is the way to go. If you need to build a more advanced website I would stick with a more advanced developer.
Great Tool for Website Personalization
What do you like best about the product?
Wix was a great tool to develop a cohesive website fast. There is a plethora of templates and layouts to choose from, and it's super easy to customize and personalize each layout to your specific needs.
What do you dislike about the product?
Although there are a lot of layouts, many are very similar and, understandably so, reflect current trends in web design. Even with all of the personalization allowed, I have often seen Wix-created sites that look so similar to one another--which is fine, but when you want your site to stand out, it can make it your site look uniform.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Easy personalization; quick, quality web design. Wix makes digital design easy, so even those who are not familiar with design, HTML and so on are very capable users of the software.

To create a standout website with Wix, you definitely have to take the time to personalize every bit of the templated site or layout that you use.

Simple website management with no experience required
What do you like best about the product?
Love the drag and drop system! It is completely customizable and helps you decide what you want so you do not have to have all the answers. Truly is a great option for nonprofits and businesses alike. Easy SEO management and clear reporting options. I love the widget options and the ability to host a store right on the site. They also have simple domain and email management for a one stop experience.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only negative we've noticed about the software is since it has simpler options, it can take longer to load your webpage.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have transferred over several of our business needs into wix such as payment processing, email management, domain name hosting, and website building.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Consider how complicated your website might be. We have several tabs, images, video graphics, etc. The only issue is a little bit longer loading times but it was a trade-off that was worth it for us.
