User-Friendly Website Builder for Non-Website Builders
What do you like best about the product?
Its ease of use. There are step-by-step instructions for just about everything. You can create a great looking e-commerce site with automated emails and marketing emails within the platform. It's really easy to use once you start playing around with all of the features!
What do you dislike about the product?
Marketing email automation is limited and if you are looking to really develop email marketing campaigns, you will likely have to utilize outside resources.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I started out using Etsy for selling items and getting noticed, but love the idea of having my own branded site where I can display everything in one place. All about me, my shop, my items, etc. Everything is in one place and I have control over managing all aspects of the business side of things with the site.

Great starter tool and very affordable too!
Great for a free website builder!

Could be a little more user friendly for those with no website building experience.

What do you like best about the product?
Wix has a very convenient interface and easy access to elements that you can fill in your page with. It's a great tool for free use.
What do you dislike about the product?
I experienced some difficulties while trying to build the main menu and subsections of the website - it was not exactly clear how do subsections appear and how to tie them to the particular item on the menu.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I was trying to build a website that would show what projects my event management company was working on. I haev realized that there were many good "built-in" designs of buttons/pictures/backgrounds that helped me visualize the things I wanted.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I think it is a very convenient tool for creating a simple landing page/website for a project. It might not be an option to develope a lot of custom code as I could not implement all the custom code i wanted with Wix. However, for a non-complicated use it is perfect. Also WIX uses very stylish templates - tehy are simple yet colorful and can be used with almost every time of the website. In addition the tool has a great selection of widgets, which are really easy to implement and connect to external tools (I have tried dashboard tool that shows all the posts from social networks). In summary - you can be sure that there are many good templates and widgets and you should learn more about implementing custom code with Wix.
Good for first time site creators
What do you like best about the product?
I like the ease of use. I'm a first time website creator and I've found it very easy to understand and use. They also send weekly newsletters with tips on creating your site and new features.
What do you dislike about the product?
Needs more creative templates. They have a good set of basic website templates, but I think they can expand on templates for reoccurring users to choose from. Also, the mobile version of the sites is limited in editing functions.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I've been able to create a portfolio site, and a small business site using Wix. It's helping me think creatively about how I can design a website.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Compared to Wordpress, Wix is a lot easier to use for a newbie. However, it can definitely develop it's abilities so that more advanced site creators will appreciate it too.

I hired someone off Free Lancer to set up the site for me because I couldn't figure out how to do it on my own. They did a very good job and the site turned out amazing, so the tools and features are definitely there for someone who knows what they're doing.
What do you dislike about the product?
Was not easy to use for someone who had not used them before.

What do I like best... I like the easiness of creating web pages, the easiness in editing, the designs they all ready have. They got great tools.

What do I dislike... Sometimes i want to change more things, and they don't let me.

Good site builder for the entry level we site.
What do you like best about the product?
Ease of use to design. what you see is what you get is a pretty cool feature of design. I was able to pull pics from my social media page and it was pretty easy and fun.

The way Wix interacts with Google in the past was a issue for me but it seems like those issues are being resolved.

Easy site design and easy to add pages and build my site.

Make sure the site will meet all of your needs. If you are going to market your site you may want to make sure that your SEO values will be able to track and make sure you plan for future upgrades.

What do you like best about the product?
I've been using Wix for over a year now, and make consistent updates to my site on a monthly basis. What I like most about it, is that it's very user friendly. You don't have to have a background in website development to navigate Wix. The layout is "drag and drop" style, with easy-to-decipher shortcut buttons to help you through the process of building your site. Plus the pre-made templates are great.
What do you dislike about the product?
One thing that could use some updating, is the way that you add photos to the site. Wix has it designed so that you upload your photos to an album within the site. Then if you want to add the image to your page, you have to navigate into the album, select the photo, label it, then drag and drop it into the site. It took me quite a few times to get the hang of it. I would like it if we could drag and drop images directly from our computers.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Wix has helped me gain exposure to my theatre company, as well as marry all of my social media sites/email/instagram/photos into one place for potential new members to see.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
As a non-profit company with a limited budget, I highly recommend using Wix. It is user-friendly, affordable, and really gives your website that special edge that you need to stand out among your competition.
Simple to use but limited for intermediate designers

Drag and drop functionality. Mobile right out of the box.

Not as much options for customization for advanced users. Feel limited within the ecosystem.

Easy to use for the non-technical person
What do you like best about the product?
They've come a long way in terms of front-end functionality and SEO value. I like how this functions much like a Photoshop document. The way the items can snap to each other, X and Y values are generated, and other things that are simply impressive. It makes it really easy for my non-technical coworkers to dive in and make their own changes without having to go through me.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike that you can only have one person logged in at a time to edit. I understand why, but why does it have to be the entire website? Why can't a certain page be locked? Also, I don't like how when you load the website on the front-end, you get a bunch of jumbled code rather than the formatted HTML markup. Google says that it is still acceptable and doesn't hurt SEO but I have a hard time believing that.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are able to democratize the content of the website to people who are only comfortable with a Word document. We've also been able to launch the website pretty quickly.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would strongly consider the product if you don't have someone readily available to manage your website. If you have security concerns, Wix should be relatively safe from attacks and hacks. If you have someone hired as a web developer, they will hate Wix.
