Web Design/Hosting for Business Owners & Blogger
What do you like best about the product?
Having used both Square Space & Wordpress for both my business and blog sites, I can say that Wix beats them both. As a web designer, I need a web platform powerful enough to allow me to have complete creative control. Wix gives me just that! I love being able to start out with an amazing template and then craft it into my own. The Wix editor gives me everything that I need to create a master piece web design. Customer support is also spot on. When I first launched my site, I had difficulties with a few design aspects not working for me. After speaking with support, a solution was implemented within the day.
Wix also makes it incredibly easy to understand and update your SEO. Each page of your website, you are given the option to create searchable terms.

What do you dislike about the product?
The only troubles I've had using Wix are when crafting my desktop to mobile. It can take a little trial and error to get your site working on mobile properly. I've had issues with sizing certain text and moving background images to the front.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As a web design, Wix solves my issues of finding a platform I can use for myself and for my clients. Wix offers email campaigns that align directly with your site as well. Having everything in one place makes it easy to run your site.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are looking for a stylish and design centered platform, choose Wix!

A high quality website builder with many templates and options
What do you like best about the product?
I like the pricing, which costs less than most of the web designer prices that were given to me. It's also great that Wix can provide all the needed products to get my website online. I can get a domain name, hosting plan, website design tools and excellent support. I've played around with some open source web development platforms such as Joomla and WordPress, but Wix is just far easier and less prone to error from my experience.
What do you dislike about the product?
Compare to standard web pages built from scratch, Wix uses many databases and extra scripts that can cause the page loading speeds to be slow. I believe they have methods for helping to minimize page file sizes, but the overall speeds are still generally slower than static HTML pages.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I can use Wix to create some very sharp and sometimes stunning websites in a short amount of time and without the need for technical programming. I've used Wix websites for landing pages and to create blogs and presentations for many types of sales and marketing campaigns. I can also use them for office purposes when conducting collaborations and team brainstorms with both staff members and clients.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Wix is a reasonably versatile web building and hosting platform that I would recommend to those with low technical and design skills. No matter your technical background though, Wix can be a useful tool that could certainly save anyone a huge amount of work time.

Ease of use, plenitude of options, good FAQ and help sections, easy to move between mobile and desktop use

sometimes site crashes or freezes, not much customer service by person

Recommendations to others considering the product:
Better than other build your own blog sites like wordpress or blogspot. Recommend it and will keep using it as long as I am working freelance and in higher education

I love how Wix really stands heads above other web design sites, even when it comes to drag-and-drop website building! It’s just more modern, more clean, more clear cut, and more efficient!

I don’t dislike anything honestly. It’s very affordable and usable.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I have had no problems, unlike other website builders I’ve used in the past. Wix is amazing!

If you are less familiar with website building, I highly recommend picking a template you like and then customizing it to fit your personal needs. This gives you the benefit of professional style, while still allowing you to implement your specifications.

What do you dislike about the product?
"Special offers" like year of free domain not always able to be used and limitations are not explained well.
Some templates are more difficult to customize, so it can be time-consuming to find workarounds.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I have several small clients who want to be able to manage their site after launch, but are not very tech-savvy. Wix is a great platform that allows me to quickly and efficiently create their site, optimize it for SEO and launch it, then turn it over to my clients for ongoing changes. Previously, my clients had used Wordpress and found it much more challenging to make changes.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Consider what level of customization you need. If you want to use a lot of custom-coding, make sure you can do that with Wix.
Consider what level of tech-savviness your end users will have and what level of support you want to provide to clients post-launch. This is the biggest advantage of Wix -- it's easy to make simple changes post-launch.

I love my wix website!

Wix makes it easy for me, a non techy person, to manage my own website and make it look the way I want to.
What do you dislike about the product?
You can't change the template after you've purchased it. I would like to rearrange things sometimes with a new template but am not able to.

I don't need a webmaster to change or fix anything on my website. I can do it myself!

The Wix system is incredibly simple to use, makes great SEO suggestions and is well optimized for mobile.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not a huge fan of add ons and apps costing what they do. Wish there were more add on features included.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Cutting out the need for a web developer has huge cost saving implications.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Wix is a great system if you have a simple business model and aren't looking to develop too much functionality outside of a standalone website. If you have grander ideas which include more specific features, be prepared to do your research and budget accordingly.

What do you like best about the product?
I like Wix because in just a few minutes you already have your website to start using it. Being able to modify any aspect of the website is quite simple to perform. Although the platform has basic characteristics, they are enough to design the website at ease.
What do you dislike about the product?
Many of the modifications that can be made by default from the platform are very basic and lack functionality.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Wix has been our most feasible solution to be able to design websites quickly.

My recommendation is to use Wix and verify if it meets all the requirements you need for the type of project you want to start.
