Basic Computer knowledge needed
What do you like best about the product?
Here are my top attributes for Wix:
1. Auto-Save and restore function is top-notch. Allows you to restore a previous version if you make a mistake, your computer crashes or you lose internet connection.
2. Comes with email and messaging function for customer contact. We use the upgraded/pay version as I am sure most businesses and organizations do, and it allows us to message our customers back from right there in the dashboard/interface of wix.
3. The large library of images, shapes/elements and videos is superb. It will make your website run a little slower so check the size of the images.

What do you dislike about the product?
My least favorite aspects of wix:
1) Very little introduction on how to set up a website and what to think of. Not an issue for me as I have been using wix since I was about 14. But, in the eyes of a beginner - this could be useful.
2) For a large and trusted brand like wix I find it inexcusable to have SEO integrations that are not effective at its stated goal.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
1. It's inexpensive compared to other website builders out there and you can do it all from one dashboard; set up a domain, host your website etc.
2) Content Marketing - wix makes it very easy to create content for marketing purposes and brand building.
3) Contact with customers - it allows for simple management of all messages that come in through the website which simplifies customer service.

Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you have never built a website before, I can warmly recommend wix as your starting point. But don’t pay for the upgrade before you know this is a program your skill level can work with. Also, shop around for domains and hosting before choosing to do it all through wix. It could save you some money
Create stunning websites without a website developer or coding experience
What do you like best about the product?
I am not a webdesigner nor do I have any experience creating websites, but with wix that doesn't even matter. Anyone can do it. Indeed, it can get complicated if you are looking to do something very advanced, but a quick Google search will send you to an article written on Wix's forums or help pages about your topic (most likely, and if not you can always ask yourself). When other savvy website builders from around the world still don't have the answer, then it's time to contact customer service. In my experience, their customer service has been nothing short of splendid.
What do you dislike about the product?
I can't think of a single thing I really dislike of the top of my head. I do find it somewhat annoying that if I want to change out a photo (let's say for a banner or a slideshow) and I search for "wedding" in the Wix database (free photos and videos - also for commercial use) and choose a photo (to see how it looks), then change my mind and want to try one of the others I saw, I have to click back into "design" > "photos" > "from wix" > search for "wedding" (again) and scroll down to the photo I wanted to try. This can be a bit annoying at times, especially since I tend to be very fickle about choosing design elements such as photos. It is certainly not a dealbreaker and it does not take away from my admiration of Wix at all.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am saving my company (or at least the project group I am on and the brand we represent) a lot of money by being able to build and edit the design of our website ourselves. With a paid subscription you cannot tell that it is a "free website builder" and that some guy with no experience in UX and web design created it. That is a huge win.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I don't have any recommendation other than: GO GET IT. Now. You won't regret it.
I love sending people to our Wix website to look at how beautiful it is!
What do you like best about the product?
I adore the design of Wix. In my job, I am responsible for making the social media site for one of our brands looking perfect at all times, and often people ask where to buy something or how they can learn more. I love nothing more than to send them to our website because it is so beautifully designed. It also allows us to really showcase our social media on the website and lets us analyze where our visitors went after visiting our website. Wix is clean, simple and beautiful.
What do you dislike about the product?
We are a small business so everyone has to chip in, and since my digital marketing job intertwines with the website I often have to go in and make changes or edit what is there, and in that capacity I have noticed that it can be difficult to find exactly where to click to change something. The buttons are all there (and maybe its just me?), but it seems to be difficult to find what the thing I want to change falls under in settings/design. Also, the editor can feel a little "cluttered" like there are too many options at once. I have a 12" Macbook so this might be why though. That it is more crammed on my screen.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
One of the first things we do as a team when we are building a brand, is create a website prototype so to speak. It's not the traditional way to do it - but it helps us visualize and understand what the brand will mean to different people. This means we need a program where we can get a website up and running right away - we don't have time for weeks or even months of website development. With wix you can have a website done in a day!
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Buying your domain off-site is often cheaper and easier, but when it comes to connecting it to your wix site it can be a little difficult. Consider doing your hosting and everything through wix as well.
Great tool for beginners
What do you like best about the product?
The people in my company are all very delighted about Wix and I can certainly understand why - it is easy to use, looks pretty, and is very customizable. My personal favorite is the drag and drop way it is made. So easy to use for anyone at any level.
What do you dislike about the product?
However, unlike most of my colleagues I don't see only nice things when thinking about Wix. I am very easily frustrated and the way their menu and settings are set up can be overly frustrating from time to time. It drives me a little nuts to be honest.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use to have major issues with our new employees and interns because teaching anyone who is not in the IT department how our websites work was tedious and took forever. Now, we just send them to wix and since most of them are millennials or gen z, they understand it right away. Ah to be 22 again....

I have no specific recommendation other than to try it. Play around with it and see if it will frustrate you or make it easier on you.
Lovely online software for websites!
What do you like best about the product?
I am not the most tech savvy on my team, but even I can use Wix. As part of the older generation that prefers calling over emailing, I must say I am pleasantly surprised at how easy it is to use Wix. I can actually make comments that make sense on the design of the website now compared to prior when I knew nothing about it.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some things are still confusing, such as connecting a domain you bought somewhere else. Luckily I have team members who know this very well, but I can imagine others being confused and frustrated at the situation if they do not have someone to help them out.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am the oldest on my team, and I used to have to email someone from our web design team to help me out if I wanted to change something quick. This caused a backlog (not just from me) for our web team and caused project leaders to have to wait before launching a project or product. Now - I can log in and change it myself - fast, and easy, without disrupting the entire website and my team.

I recommend looking at their gallery of templates and see if there is something you like.

What do you like best about the product?
Wix is super easy to use- it doesn't matter if you are a website pro or designing your first website - you'll be able to make a gorgeous site using their software in no time.
What do you dislike about the product?
In our company we have a little bit of a running joke about the loading times of wix, but that is also because we rely on large and heavy photos which do take some time to load. We download them and compress them and problem solved!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I do the marketing for one of the newer café brands in our portfolio, and we needed to be able to create several different websites and choose the best one. WIX allowed us to do this for free. No need to hire outside help, no need to spend 1000s of dollars on website creations. My boss has been doing this for years by herself and now we do it too.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
The only recommendation I have is to try it! And try it before you try more expensive options. This one is free to try so you should do Wix first.
Okay, but not as professional as others!
What do you like best about the product?
I like how easy it is to use. We make a lot of digital content and it is very easy to make matching websites with wix.
What do you dislike about the product?
It’s not very professional in its hosting abilities and it loads really slow. The websites take forever to load and when they do, the mobile optimization is always a little off.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Producing several websites a month means a lot of time is spent doing work that isn’t necessary important to the look and design of the website or even the practicality. Wix let’s us do this fast and easy with their AI.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Honestly - just try it. It’s not bad. If you have the budget for it - get something more optimized. Don’t use square space though - they are too rigid and their customization cannot compare to wix.

The “new” AI feature on wix (it’s 4-5 years old I’ve just been using it for so long) is BOMB! It will literally make you a perfect website in 1

What do you dislike about the product?
Loading times of the editing tool. And the editing tools are good (lots of customization) but sometimes it’s too much work just to change a color.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Well, my boss starts new companies all the time (he’s a genius) and every time he needs a website. Like that’s his first thing to make it more real for himself and it can be super time consuming and the guy does not like to wait. So, what do I do? I use the wix AI and have it running in no time. I customize it after of course, but so much of that initial work

Go to wix.com and make a free website and click their AI version. Whatever it makes - you won’t be sorry.

What do you like best about the product?
The ease of use and customization is Wix’s best feature! It is so great to use and makes everything look beautiful.
What do you dislike about the product?
Their loading times are terrible (both in the edit mode and when your website is live). This can be very annoying, but read on for my tip on how to counter this!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Having to update our website so often, we just don’t have the time to hire a web developer and honestly it would be a waste of money. For a small to midsize business you won’t need anything else.

Loading times can be a pain. So what I recommend is that you first download any photos you are using and compress them! Try this out in the free version and see if you like it. Look for wix made websites so you can compare! Try free trials other places.
Simple and Easy Solutions for Small Businesses
What do you like best about the product?
Wix allowed us to create a clean and simple site for the promotion of our business, at an affordable rate, with easy solutions for those less experienced in website building. The tools are not difficult to use and the designs are nice and modern. An easy to use color pallate system elts you use your own color scheme which can be color matched directly to images such as a logo. In addition, the easy upload and placement of images was helpful, as was the ability to make multiple sections on a webpage that scroll seemlessly. Additionally, the site helps you get set up for optimal search engine results!
What do you dislike about the product?
Creating a way for customers to go online and pay the amount they owe us to our paypal needs to be a more simple soultion for those of us still sending out physical invoices, but we did find a way to make it work for us.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
A business in todays society needs a website, even for smaller businesses. Wix made it easy to come up with a website to show off what we do and who we are, while allowing a place for our customers to pay invoices online.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Great for small businesses looking to build a better online presence! Was simple and easy to setup, which is an amazing feature if web design is not your traditional background and something you want as a helpful tool, not a headachche. The biggest issue for us was setting up a simple way to let customers pay us for physical invoices we send them. Eventually flound a workaround but not the easiest.
