10-year MicroStrategy User
What do you like best about the product?
I love the innovation the company shows.
What do you dislike about the product?
Dossier still not caught up to Tableau (but getting closer!), makes it hard to sell to some of our users.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Enterprise-level all in one solution for reporting needs. Right now much of our legacy reports are on MSTR which is critical. We are trying to turn the boat to allow for users to go TO their data instead of receiving it in emails and just consuming it.

MicroStrategy is great for data analytics!
What do you like best about the product?
I like the updates that 2019 brought... especially dossiers! It allows users to view all the necessary data immediately. Then you can drill down into the data to analyze trends.
What do you dislike about the product?
I am a developer. While the user interface is awesome, the developer side is a little convoluted. It would be nice if they simplified the developer interface and made it more modern. The developer interface reminds me of Windows 95.

My business uses MicroStrategy across several sectors. We use it to analyze data, run reports across the business, and make running the factory more efficient.

Very capable tool for power users
What do you like best about the product?
MicroStrategy is an extremely powerful tool for technologist who understand how to get the most out of it. While it isn't as easy to use as Tableau/PowerBI it has advantages around mobile, row-based security, and a unified semantic layer.
What do you dislike about the product?
Ease of use for non-power users can be a limiting factor to scale.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Closed-loop analytic solutions - descriptive, diagnostic, predictive, prescriptive. Allows for a governed and capable enterprise-scale technology solution that can be very flexible.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you need a governed layer where business logic resides outside your datawarehouse, leveraging MicroStrategy can be a great platform. Competitive advantages around mobile, security, and administration. Can be difficult to roll out to business users if appropriate processes and education are not in place.
