What do you like best about the product?
MicroStrategy has the best mobile functionality in the BI space. The whole new Dossier functionality is great for any user who wants to independently build their own analysis on data.
What do you dislike about the product?
MicroStrategy can do better at Android app capability across EMM providers

AI and Hyperintelligence is very good in Microstartegy, It is the BEST BI in the market

export to excel is not good and efficient as other prodcuts

Artificial intelligence and Hyperintelligence are some of the amazing factors that I liked about this tool

Not supporting excel output as expected by the business users who still use excel as their intermediate layer for business calculations

Enterprise wide reporting tool capable of handling terabytes of data

Not much visualizations. Need to have more visualizations and predictive capabilities.

I am working for a Healthcare client with MicroStrategy primarily on Financial Reporting and Analytics. Benefits being its metadata layer and enterprise wide BI service.

What do you like best about the product?
The capabilities are endless with very few addons. Creates dashboards that are easy to for customers to understand. User friendly in development too.
What do you dislike about the product?
There isn't much, but I guess some of the dashboards are harder to create in Microstrategy than in excel.

Ease of reporting to the field and the ease of internal cutomers to access reports.

I love many of the visual abilities in MicroStraegy and the ability to quickly demonstrate the vision for the repoert

Document design is cumbersom when adding graphs and data from multiple sources

We are trying to quickly identify revenue issues or opporunities as well as positive or negative trends to allow for quick responce

very easy to use. shared metadata structure. easier to administer

no good support for linux and lack of apis

lot of new features , functionalities but a few old basic functionality still missing

i used multiple bi products and microstrategy is still the best sql generator out there. by a long margin. i like the other functionality that gets added to it but i love the adhoc sql generation capability the best. i love the tech notes, support too. the new features are fine..i kind of think about them as keeping up with the trend..
What do you dislike about the product?
some basic technical functionality is still missing. distinct aggregation is one of them. even the cubes dont show distinct aggregation for subtotals etc., i also dislike the fact that whenever transformation metrics are added , the engine by default scans the fact tables twice.. instead of intelligently using the olap functions from sql or its own olap functions. this hasnt improved over years.
also, as a bi consultant , i sell microstrategy as the best adhoc reporting tool out there, however, it only serves 40 to 50% of adhoc functionality a business requires. we still have rely on analysts to write sql to pull the data to answer the other adhoc queries.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
its a nice tool. the benefits are similar to what any business that goes on a bi journey does. compared to the other bi tools out there, i believe it is better in terms of development provided the developers are trained on it.
