Very well thought-out, but with some caveats
What do you like best about the product?
-I love how customizable it is – it’s so easy to adjust the look and feel of the form with either a theme or CSS.
Functionality-wise you can do more with Javascript. As compared to Formstack, the ability to use Javascript is a huge plus here. They even give users example snippets of code.
-Their support is AWESOME – super responsive by email and chat. They have gone above and beyond for me on multiple occasions and the reps are more like partners.
-The prefill connector pulls data from Salesforce in a seamless manner by passing variables such as record IDs into the URL. In Formstack, you have to pass every field you want into the URL; FormAssembly just queries the database and “prefills” fields instead. This also allows for scalability; you can use one form for multiple purposes by conditionally showing or hiding information.
-The repeater option – which allows you to a) pull in data from multiple records and b) create or update multiple records is very clever. We have used this to pull info from child objects on a one-to-many relationship – for instance, dates and times for modules (child) of a virtual event (parent). Or create many records at once (for instance, for guest lists for a benefit). You can even remove the submit button and use it to display information from your database using the pre-fill connector.
-E-checks in FormAssembly/Authorize give us more payment options and flexibility for our donors. We created a form that allows us to collect money from a pledge, passing in the donation ID. Then the form updates fields on the record when the person pays.
--Sub-point: You can save and pass Authorize.net transaction IDs into Salesforce records!! This is something Formstack cannot do.
-The CSV import of picklist items that populates other fields. We used this to load the entire US school database into a form and populate fields like name, district, and address.

What do you dislike about the product?
-The fact that this is based in Javascript can cause problems.
--Learning curve or requirement to hire implementation team. Javascript is not normally in the skillset of a Salesforce admin, but it is a good skill to have.
--The user’s browser must have Javascript enabled in order for the form to work properly. FormAssembly recommends adding a snippet of code that shows up when Javascript is not enabled, but this snippet should come with the platform in my opinion. There is inherent risk here otherwise.
-On forms where you accept payment there is no native plugin for discount codes.
It’s also hard to discount to $0 and hide the credit card fields – you need Javascript for this.
-The post submission connector is clunky at times. If I’m making an update, I’d love to be able to reference an existing value in Salesforce and then decide what to do – for instance, if it’s filled out already, don’t overwrite it with the new value. Also, there are some cases when the update/insert option doesn’t work for my use case and I have to do an update/insert in multiple steps instead.
-I wish that FormAssembly had a Google Drive integration; any time I want to save in a Google Drive I have to use Formstack.
-The e-signature function is very sleek but there’s not a great way to report on signatures that have been “verified” through email; you have to go into each record to do that.
-The WordPress plugin does not allow you to add fields into the URL, so we have had to use iFrames.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are a nonprofit doing event signup in FormAssembly. We collect data on constituents such as programmatic contacts and donors. We also use it to process payments.
Awesome for Custom Online Form Hosting
What do you like best about the product?
Flexibility to Customize forms to fit various needs. It is convenient and easy to use. It is very stable and rarely do we encounter any problems at all.
What do you dislike about the product?
In-frequent glitches to synch with email inbox. FA disconnects from my email inbox on rare occasions and I will have to wait for Customer service to resolve issues. This can usually take a couple of days to resolve. We also have issues with our forms going to the spam folder and leading to missed responses and reactions.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Glitches to inbox synch. Customer service was very helpful in resolving issues although issues encountered were usually complex to resolve. It was also confusing having numerous Customer Service reps working on my issue and my issue kept being elevated to higher levels. Overall they were very responsive and worked to resolve all of my issues.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Get a detailed overview of its functionality and how to manage content. There are a vast majority of functions on form assembly which you need to make sure to take advantage of. I use it for lead capturing, surveys and polls, custom interactive form building, etc. FA has been reliable and we never almost need any type of management or support after everything is set up. I also must mention that it is very intuitive to use on both the front and backends and anyone can jump in without any prior experience using a software like this.
Great item!
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to use and very versatile. When I need help, I can google it and find a guide.
What do you dislike about the product?
A little tricky to get human help from customer support.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use it for our Salesforce data entry and also to run surveys.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Good! Would use again.

What do you dislike about the product?
Moving items can be comber some at times
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Population of our database with applicant information.
Recommendations to others considering the product:

Great form automation tool with Salesforce integration
What do you like best about the product?
The seamless and intuitive Salesforce integration for all forms. Being able to map any and all fields with our Salesforce instance saves time and data entry mistakes. FormAssemblys ability to integrate seamlessly really allows it to step up above other form creators in the market.
What do you dislike about the product?
UI and set up of forms and automation can be slow and time-consuming. More predictive selections and better copy/paste features would make everything a bit less repetitive. Setting up custom URLs is an example of a monotonous task that should be better executed by FormAssembly.
Something else missing is just better form customization. Not a huge loss because there is some small amount available, but a better template set up and management would be preferred. Seems like even the best possible form customization results in a mediocre form display. Their site says "Use our super-intuitive Form Builder to build your form. You can make it as simple or complex as necessary. Spruce up the design by adding custom CSS, or using one of our pre-defined themes." However it is that CSS part that could use some upgrading for those users who are not as great at CSS.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
No major issues, but FormAssembly has allowed many of our reps to skip the information population in Salesforce by allowing customers to fill out a form for auto-population. They also just rolled out a PDF attachment that allows you to attach the form and any uploaded documents to the salesforce record that is a small bit buggy, however, this is still an incredibly useful feature. It allows my team to operate purely out of Salesforce while having FormAssembly run everything in the background.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Set aside time to fully understand the possibilities before getting started on any task. This will help prevent douplicated efforts.
For the most part, FormAssembly has worked very well in conjunction with Salesforce.
What do you like best about the product?
The ability to prefill forms from Salesforce and then dump information back into Salesforce when submitted. I also like the payment connectors and their ease of use.
What do you dislike about the product?
Chat Support is often full and unaccessable. Documentation doesn't seem to get updated very often. Connector editing slows way down the bigger the connector gets. Theme options, although expanded, are still pretty lacking.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Salesforce interactive registration and payment forms without the need to learn coding.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Dont expect beautiful looking forms unless you know CSS and get really good with the connectors. That is where you will live most of the time.
help to connect with Salesforce
What do you like best about the product?
Easy form building and connecting with salesforce
What do you dislike about the product?
Lookup from salesforce is not available in standard version
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Getting data from all internal users without salesfroce license

N/A
A robust tool for most of your online form needs
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to use user interface, great online documentation, most features are readily apparent with some investigation.
What do you dislike about the product?
Advanced features aren't easily discoverable. Unless I'm missing something there's no way to 'stage' updated. IE, once you save a change, it's live. This isn't always ideal. Like most online companies these days all communication if initially by email. Getting someone on a call is difficult.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I manage about 65 forms from the university application forms, to inquiry forms, residence application and COVID record keeping. Quick and easy to make updates.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Take time to learn it. It's more powerful than it might first appear.
FormAssembly Rocks
What do you like best about the product?
I love its connection with Salesforce. I think it has a lot of great capabilities by utilizing integrations and formulaic generation. I also feel like the ability to customize the form is extremely useful. From CSS customization to just simple layout, it works for everything we need at my company. The Google Sheet integration is also a lifesaver so I can pass along some of the results of our forms to my coworkers without having to have them log in to FormAssembly. Great stuff to keep the team on the same page!
What do you dislike about the product?
I honestly don't have any big "dislikes". It seems to be a great platform for what I and my company use it for. The only issue I have had at all is that during the entirety of COVID, the Support option has been offline. It would be nice to contact someone at some point for quick help tips. I'm not really sure this is something that can/could be fixed, but I started working with FormAssembly around February-ish prior to the COVID, and then really got into it after COVID had gotten into full swing. So I am not really sure what the support situation was like prior to that.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The ability to register a bunch of students without having paper documents. It has really helped with the virtual world we have found ourselves in. The integration with Stripe and Salesforce also allows us to take payments and pass that information along to our Salesforce CRM.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you utilize Google Drive and/or Salesforce to collect information on your customers/contacts, I highly suggest using FormAssembly. Not only can you easily create forms to collect information (and payment) from customers, you can also easily integrate it into a website. It's great and extremely useful!
If you use Salesforce, then you definitely want FormAssembly!
What do you like best about the product?
Its connection with Salesforce is almost perfect. Both platforms work incredibly well together. The forms pretty much give you everything you need, and its very easy to use. The response section provides the analysis of all non-text questions and they can be downloaded to Excel. I also like the ability to send automatic copies of answers to designated email addresses and automate auto reply for forms.
What do you dislike about the product?
The format possibilities are very limited. I wish it provided more flexibility to the user. Also if you need to use the conditional feature between pages, it can create mistakes. Moreover, there should be an easier feature to limit the number of choices for multiple choice questions.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The biggest problem I'm solving is the ability to connect all answers from a large group to Salesforce directly.
