Easy Collaboration, Strong Security, and Excellent Training Videos
What do you like best about the product?
Ease of use, easy to collaborate on. Supports our organizations security posture. The training videos are well done.
What do you dislike about the product?
Relatively high cost, not overly flexible.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Vanta is supporting our SOC II compliance and audit management.
Simplifies obtaining SOC2, integrations at their best
What do you like best about the product?
I like the simplicity of using Vanta, the checklists, and notifications. They help us prepare documents on time, understand risks, and know what needs to be done for successful certification. This makes the process more transparent and convenient for the entire team. I also appreciate that Vanta easily integrates with products like HubSpot and GitHub, which is very convenient.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes some controls are a bit confusing, and it's not always clear what to do, but this is a big problem.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Vanta simplifies obtaining the SOC2 Type2 certificate, helps me and my team know when to prepare documents and what risks we have, with simple checklists and notifications.
Very Easy to Use, Well-Organized Platform with a Great Vanta assist AI Addition
What do you like best about the product?
Very easy to use platform, breaks tasks/controls etc down in an orderly easy to follow way. The Vanta assist AI tool is also a really great addition.
What do you dislike about the product?
A little clunky to navigate people specifically access levels.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are looking to become SOC 2 acceditated. The accreditation will help with our business maturity and help us with customer trust etc
Vanta Not a Good Solution for a Solo-Person Software Company
What do you like best about the product?
It offers a checklist of things that need to be done in an easy-to-understand user interface. This makes going through each item and crossing it off the list a straightforward process. They also provide directions on how to do each step properly which is critical for a small company like mine that doesn't have a lot of infrastructure experience.
What do you dislike about the product?
They are optimized to work best with medium to large sized companies and their automated processes are built with those expectations. For a solopreneur company like mine, the entire process is time-consuming, burdensome and near impossible. They did not offer proper guidance to me about what it would take to get SOC2 compliance for a company my size and I felt misled by their salesperson about the "ease" with which it could be done. Items like "every PR must be approved by someone else" isn't possible in a 1-person company. Things like "you must commit a PR to your code every month" also doesn't apply when the product is mature and feature complete. There are numerous other examples of where a small or solo software company would not be able to meet Vanta's requirements. This should have been disclosed better in my initial discussion with them. All in all it's been a huge headache to try to get certified, I doubt I'll ever be able to reach the endpoint, and I wish I had never signed up with Vanta.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We wanted to be compliant with SOC-2 in order to try to land government contracts which would have required this compliance. Vanta claimed to make this process easy with checklists and offered another company (Workstreet) to help us during this process. I would not say we've benefitted from Vanta in any way however.

An Easy Path to Standardization
What do you like best about the product?
An easy pathway to standardization in a demanding environment.

There can be a steep learning curve for a new user, but it’s not that difficult once you get the hang of it.

They took us through the ISO process and provided a central point for our company’s security health.

Ease to use UX that speed up time-to-value, native library of controls and automations, timely notifications to leverage the solution

Network of auditors not that strong in Europe, with some limitations if using sovereign cloud soutions, outside of big standards

Structuration of policy and controls to formally obtain specific certifications, with automation, intelligence, and structured process
Huge Marketplace and Vendor Integrations Make Compliance Evidence a Breeze
What do you like best about the product?
There’s a huge marketplace with plenty of vendor integrations, which makes it easy to automatically provide evidence for tests and controls.
What do you dislike about the product?
At times, I get lost between the tests and controls tied to compliance. I often end up needing to reset and clear my filters, or even start over, just to find the items I’m trying to complete.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Before Vanta, my team and I were tracking our compliance control evidence manually. We were constantly gathering populations and collecting evidence, and it was consuming hundreds of hours each year. Vanta allows most of our tests to be automated through integrations, provides immediate alerts when new items within a test need to be updated to stay in compliance, and gives me real peace of mind.
Effortless SOC2 Compliance with excellent software integration & partnership with WorkStreet
What do you like best about the product?
I like Vanta's good identification of gaps, which makes it easier for us to identify what we need to fill. I appreciate the long list of software partners as many of them are ones we are already using, making integration easy. The partnership with Workstreet also adds value.
What do you dislike about the product?
I hoped that Vanta would recommend solutions and templates. We didn't get those from Vanta, we received them from Workstreet. I was expecting sample documents and processes that we can customize.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Vanta to meet SOC2 requirements by adding processes and tools. It identifies gaps, making it easy to fill them. Its integration with software partners we already use, like Workstreet, streamlines our compliance efforts.
Efficient Compliance Monitoring with Minor Challenges
What do you like best about the product?
I like Vanta because it helps with monitoring and reporting, especially for compliance with HIPAA and SOC 2. As a monitoring user, I appreciate that the monitoring application is all-inclusive. As an admin, I like having clear action items and a list of tasks to take care of. It's helpful that Vanta automatically runs tests on our infrastructure, monitoring our workers' computers so we can track everything through one dashboard. This setup provides action items for the team to handle quickly.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think finding tests in the results list is hard sometimes. It takes some minutes to find them, and it's hard to sync that with the linear ticket. So that takes some time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Vanta for compliance requirements like HIPAA and SOC 2. It automatically runs tests on our infrastructure, monitoring workers' computers, making tracking easier with one dashboard, and provides quick action items for the team.
