Great tool, with even better customer support
What do you like best about the product?
Customer support is great - fast, responsive, and consistent. The product itself is becoming pretty integral to our employee onboarding and offboarding, as well as (of course) our SOC 2 compliance (the main thing we use it for). The task checklist is a really helpful tool to keep tabs on where we need to make additional investments in data security and privacy.
What do you dislike about the product?
Integrations and product support for GCP customers were less robust than for AWS customers in the beginning, but they've been steadily adding features to get to feature parity for GCP customers. I'm not sure they're quite there yet, but it definitely feels closer now.
A few of the task-tracking statuses show incorrect data every now and then. I'm guessing this is because it only syncs with our services periodically, but some tasks can remain out-of-sync for a couple days before they reflect changes we've already made to address the issues originally raised.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
SOC 2 compliance is much easier to track with Vanta. There's still a lot of manual process involved, but Vanta is eliminating those exceptions every day.

What do you like best about the product?
Easy to get a lot of value. Real security and working towards SOC 2.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the nitty gritty history takes a little longer to get to (accessibility) but that's improving.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Ensure we cover security across the board. We got our SOC 2.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Vanta is willing to be hands on and spend time with you to get it right. That is valuable, so use it.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We used Vanta to streamline our security practices. The dashboard allows us to maintain company wide security policies that keep everyone safe.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Make sure to have in depth knowledge of your own architecture as that is the one piece you need to own as a company.

What do you like best about the product?
Vanta allows us to build living policies and be alerted to non-compliance which also makes it easy for us to export out those policies for MSAs with clients.
What do you dislike about the product?
Vanta is in its early stages, some of the usability does not lend itself to large bulk actions or organization.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Vanta has saved us time and effort in identifying gaps in our security compliance, MFA, device encryption etc...
Auditing the dozens of SaaS services manually would have taken much much longer and still there would have been things missed.

Recommendations to others considering the product:
For all of the shortcomings in the product, the team at Vanta is SUPER responsive and actively seeks feedback. Many of the issues ranging from bugs to product enhancements have already been addressed, often immediately after we have spoken with them. For that reason alone I would recommend Vanta.
