Excellent usability, great customer support. Not easy to customize.
What do you like best about the product?
The Web UI is very easy to use. The customer service is excellent. There's always someone available and they're very quick to respond as well as knowledgeable. The API is also easy to use and has libraries available for Python and Ruby, for example.
What do you dislike about the product?
The document parsing cannot be defined by the user and the automated parsing is far from perfect. This can be (somewhat) mitigated with the API.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helps us reduce emails since translation requests are submitted via Lokalise. Reviewers get automatic notifications and all we need to do to check if we have things ready for processing is run a custom tool that uses the Lokalise API. The files are downloaded automatically. When we have deliveries, we also use an automated workflow.
It is hard to get history info for the whole key.
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to add trasnaltions to a key, and it has webhooks.
What do you dislike about the product?
does not sows the opened task title when I open a task to see which transaltion does that have.
Also it does not filters down the languages to the task related langauges.

What do you dislike about the product?
I wish there was official full support for Jetpack Compose on Android.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Lokalise helps us get and manage translations across all of our many platforms!
Lokalise makes translation management easier
What do you like best about the product?
I really like the filtering options that Lokalise provides. This allows you to change many things at once without a tedious process.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes, when working on a task and using the Find and Replace tool, it also changes other tasks.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Lokalise streamlines the website translation process. It really benefits me that HTML tags are replaced with visually appealing placeholders, which improve readability. This makes it a lot easier to translate website content.
Great tool for machine translation post-editing
What do you like best about the product?
It's easy to use and makes editing a breeze. The customer support is extremely helpful and quick
What do you dislike about the product?
Not every type of document is supported unfortunately

Lokalise
What do you like best about the product?
One of the best support chats I've worked with - always helpful, timely and respectful in their answers
Very easy to use - newly onboarded team mates can ramp-up very fast due to how easy it is to navigate the tools
It's the main tool that our team uses
Number of features has significantly increased over the past years, providing tools that make work more simple
Glossary management works really well

What do you dislike about the product?
There are outages from time to time
The tool can be a little slow when processing large operations
There could be more languages with spell-check support, or at least options to integrate outsourced spell-checks

Lokalise provides a one-stop-shop for translation management. It allows task creation and assignment, it's easy to use both for content managers, project managers and linguists, allows for bulk actions that truly save time and seems to be pretty secure to use. Managing large amounts of keys to a large amount of languages can be very tricky, but Lokalise makes it simple. We can count on Lokalise to help us achieve our translations goals with hundreds of daily users. It is a complete tool for localisation needs.
I have been a Lokalise user for 3 years and wouldnt trade it for any other platform.
What do you like best about the product?
Lokalise has many great features such as: reliable cross project workflow, very user friendly, great design, specially for localisation purposes (tags, QA alerts, difference in source text, etc)
What do you dislike about the product?
The main downside about Lokalise is solely the search bar, which could be more accurate. Also, I would really love if a "find and replace" feature for all projects was implemented.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Lokalise helps with uniformizing the content throughout all platforms
Lokalise is a powerhouse in a cage
What do you like best about the product?

- Quick loading times
- Quick support responses
- Translation interface is good

What do you dislike about the product?
As a power user the following annoyances appeared to me:
Urgency 11/10: Colorful placeholders are nice to look at in the translation view but PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD lokalise needs to make the product manager who uploads a translation task double check the file to clean up the returns/newlines so that we translators are not presented with a mess that is an editing nightmare. Lokalise needs to implement a sanitation/normalizing module for that and show an example view of the task so the uploader sees the mess.
Urgency 10/10: Translators should have the option to download reports with match numbers, just like the management team of the company that assigns tasks to us. That way, we can write invoices ourselves and use stepped pricing based on those matches. Now, we are reliant on the management team to receive their reports in time, which is an abysmal situation to be in as a freelance translator. Plus, the report word counts between the management and translator reports differ which is odd and possibly a bug of this platform.
Urgency 10/10: DeepL should be integrated more, in the sense that a translator may use their credentials to log into their DeepL-account to be able to use their glossary and settings within lokalise.
Urgency 8/10: Prevent CSS repainting (page jumping) when a translator moves to a key that they want to translate (by clicking with the mouse or using the keyboard). Currently, my eyes lose track when the grey match list gets opened. Its appearance shifts the page layout, resp. scrolls the page a bit up or down. It would be better if your grey match list gets assigned fixed size boxes. This helps with e.g. DeepL results that take a couple of seconds to arrive and may be long. Additionally, the grey box should be treated as a "position:absolute" item that never interferes with the page layout.
Urgency 8/10: Introduce mandatory field for the project owner to make them set the deadline time. The date without time is useless, since it depends on the tasker's opinion if they mean the previous or mentioned day. Some taskers write the date/time into the info field but some forget it. There needs to be a mandatory date/time field.
Urgency 3/10: Option for setting keys as translated in bulk (instead of mind-numbingly clicking each orange circle).
Urgency 2/10: Translation of a key: The "Cancel"-button should be further away from the "Save" button to prevent accidental hits.
Believe it or not: I've sent this list to the lokalise team in 2021 and still these pressing issues aren't fixed while they only fixed one minor thing with urgency 1/10 (show task title in task view). Lokalise seems to be a company with 5 managers for every 1 programmer.
I still would recommend lokalise as it saves time and money, but it definitely doesn't live up to its potential.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Lokalise is a platform where product teams put their translation tasks. For translators like me and product managers this is a major help as the platform takes care of progress tracking and has tools for efficient translations and reporting. Would I use lokalise or a traditional approach? Of course, lokalise is better and saves time besides the issues I have with it. Is lokalise headed in the right direction? For me as a translator I can say no because I don't see progress on the tools and interface for us.
Impressive tool for linguists
What do you like best about the product?
What I love most about Lokalise is its user-friendliness. When my managers assign a task, I get an email and can start working on it immediately. The Translation Memory (TM) feature is also fantastic. I now feel very familiar and comfortable using the platform daily. Additionally, the promptness of Customer Support is commendable. I've reached out a couple of times and received quick and effective assistance. Overall, Lokalise is an excellent platform.
What do you dislike about the product?
I haven't been able to use the preview document feature successfully, and it would be very helpful if it worked better
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It makes my work as a Linguist much faster and helps organize my daily work routine.
Lokalise is pretty easy to use
What do you like best about the product?
Lokalise is pretty easy to use. Also in my country electricity goes off quite often, but since my work is divided into strings, it makes no problem for me at all.
What do you dislike about the product?
AI could be improved and interface is bit intense, so sometimes it slows down my computer.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Keeps my localization projects in order. Pretty neat interface which helps me to save time while doing my job.
