    Translation and Localization

User-friendly and effective app.

  • May 29, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
User-friendly interface, which is intuitively clear.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't see always the segment numbering on the right and I don't know how to mend it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helps me solve my translation/localization tasks in a handy way, which speeds up my work.

    Program Development

Lokalise is the most tech-savvy and user-friendly platform for localization I ever worked with.

What do you like best about the product?
What I like the most is its Automation option that automatically copies translations from one language into another. I set the automation rule once (chose my Monitored and automated languages) and now, every time I add a translation to the monitored language, it is copied to the Automated one. It is very convenient when you have many locales of a language, and you don't want to copy translations every time you add or change something. It saved me a lot of time and nerves:)

Also, I like that the Lokalise has a built-in checker for variables/HTML tags. If I incorrectly entered the placeholder or tags, Lokalise always highlights these mistakes.

And last but not least. Lokalise has human customer support and they know everything. They helped me not only with my issues but also gave advice regarding the most correct and effective use of Lokalise.
What do you dislike about the product?
It would be great if Lokalise had a preview of the changes before it is saved. Also, I'd like to have more options for sorting keys (by folders for example), not only using metadata. But this is only my experience as a user, of course, it depends on your needs and workflow.

Using of AI LQA feature seemed to me a bit complicated.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's a great tool for managing all your translations, keeping consistency, and saving time and money during work on the localization of your product.

User friendly CAT tool powered with features like translate with AI

  • April 28, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Lokalise is a great CAT tool with user friendly interface and its features such as translate with AI make it even better. Many a times during translation, we have character limits, the 'shorten' feature in Lokalise allows me to meet that limit without changing the meaning of the source text. It also has features such as 'Rephrase' and 'suggest variants' which I use often.
What do you dislike about the product?
Two minor issues that I would like Lokalise team to fix are:
1) I can't see exact number of tasks I am working on, if they are more than 9. It will only show 9+.

2) If I save and complete a segment using keyboard shortcuts then it does not move the cursor to next segment, I have to use mouse for that every time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I have worked on many CAT tools in the past. I am using Lokalise since February 2024. The problem that Lokalise is solving for me is the way tags are displayed and inserted in a target field. It is quite user friendly, inserted with keyboard shortcut keys and the coloured tags make the work interesting, unlike other CAT tools which display tags in the same monotonous color. Additionally, inserting glossary terms is supereasy with keyboard, which feature is unique in Lokalise. Options of Google translate and Microsoft translate enhance my productivity when I translate complex and technical text.

Great Company

What do you like best about the product?
Easy to use, many features, good documentation. Customer support is super fast and amazing!
What do you dislike about the product?
Maybe the automations should work also in using branching.
Also it would be great to add automations per language. Since some translator is working better depending on the language.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have the translations in Lokalise and we can assign the reviews to internal or external reviewers. The Developers don't have to take care to send to review a text, and the reviewers have a friendly UI to use.

What do you like best about the product?
I think the user friendly interface is great and that Intercom is super for the support and clarification of questions
What do you dislike about the product?
There are just a couple of techincal aspects I didn't like: the webhook bodies sometimes miss some information and the management of characters limit for string keys is not fully handled
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It provides a user friendly collaborative platform with the possibility of integrating it with our product

Lokalise: A deep dive into translation management and its performance.

  • March 20, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Lokalise has been an essential platform and tool in our company’s translation journey. The feature I appreciate most is the intuitive dashboard, which provides a clear layout of each captured project. The platform’s macro and micro search functionality is particularly valuable, allowing me to conduct high-level searches across multiple projects or focus on specific details within a single project.

I must commend Lokalise’s support bot and the support team. Every request I’ve submitted has been thoroughly investigated, with detailed responses that include screenshots, links to training materials or documents, and step-by-step solutions to resolve issues.

We’ve integrated our external communications platform, Slack, with Lokalise. While this has proven useful, it does require users to have a good understanding of the integration process to fully leverage its benefits.

The third-party linguists we collaborate with, who are also Lokalise users, have praised the “Glossary” and “Screenshot” features. The ability to share glossaries across projects has been especially valuable, saving time and ensuring consistency across our translations.
What do you dislike about the product?
The vendor reporting functionality is significantly lacking, forcing us to rely on external methods to address this issue. Additionally, automatic task creation does not support the inclusion of a rate card, resulting in these tasks not appearing in any generated reports. Overall, reporting requires substantial improvement for this tool to truly reach its full potential.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Lokalise is enabling the organization I work for to expand our global presence by providing an efficient and streamlined way to translate and review our language set. The ability to perform bulk actions has significantly reduced time, costs, and manual effort. Lokalise also cross-references thousands of words across multiple translation tools, minimizing the need for human intervention.

Good app for Lokalisation

  • March 05, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Lokalise is a simply tool for doing translation and lokalisation to various languages. It's very easy to use and newly introduced an AI feature for translation. It's very easy to switch between various languages for a single key. Easy to proceed with review for a translated file and the translation suggestion feature is very good to complete works easily.
What do you dislike about the product?
The UI is somewhat old and the major con is related to frequent slow perfomance of the webapp. The AI tool and typing in some uncommon languages is little bit hard and can get clumsy.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Lokalise helps to provided efficent translation with less effort using their inbuilt features. Very easy to switch between different languages. Makes lokalisation an easy task.

One of the best translation management systems I've used so far

  • February 08, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I'm a regular user of Amazon Translation Management System, and I was so used to it. About a month ago I got the opportunity to try something new (although I've also used others like Smartcat, Crowdin and Phrase) and I was amazed to see so many new features over there. Yes, I'm talking about Lokalise! Until now I've used it for only one project, because I was invited on the platform for it, but that alone involved translating 10k words and that's a pretty big deal I guess!

Something that I haven't seen on other platforms so far is the ability of attaching screenshots to provide more context clarity. It was particularly useful for me because I was translating an app. I love how easy it is to colloborate with our team on the platform. After completing the translation I don't even have to inform my project manager- just mark as done and Lokalise takes care of the rest. The PM can also keep an eye on my progress without me having to inform them. I also like the fact that it has a comment section which is accessible to team members across all locales.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are a few things which I found inconvenient. I think the user interface needs a little update. After completing a segment I want to mark it as done quickly and I prefer that option to be besides the segment and not above it. Also, it's initially a dot instead of a cross (which is usually the case with other TMS), and it's hard to figure out for a new user.

I am somebody who's addicted to the search function and I don't know if it was just me being unable to find one or if Lokalise really doesn't have it. Either way, that needs to be made user-friendly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I found the CAT funtionality to be pretty-good. The presence of all features into a single Translation Management System makes the whole process of translation smooth and efficient. This helps save a lot of time and translate more content. Plus collaboration and integration being so good helps the whole team.

Product Manager for Consumer Product in CARSOME

  • January 26, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It's fairly intuitive to utilize and simple to verify that each piece of text is translated and positioned correctly.
What do you dislike about the product?
I am unable to replace the key from one branch with another when attempting to update my revised version from the project branch to the UAT environment. This is because I cannot simply duplicate the key from one branch to another if it already exists.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Effectively managing both the original content and its translations becomes straightforward when the platform offers multi-language functionality to our users.
