PluralSight Support Developmental Goals within your Company
What do you like best about the product?
PluralSight CSR's are amazing, we meet weekly. PluralSight is always updating the ways that they have for people to learn and their content. They offer amazing benefits like author's sessions and skills blitz to keep people engaged within the company.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes the platform can give choice blindness due to the large amount of courses, labs, white papers and videos available. The filter feature is crucial to getting a task picked out.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We had the problem of attrition due to lack of developmental opportunities, we have since fixed this by offering PluralSight to all our tech staff and aligning their goals to meet.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Get it! It's worth the money, it's worth the effort, but know that a company wide rollout takes time and perserverence
Consistent, clean, and comprehensive
What do you like best about the product?
When auditing continuous training platforms, Pluralsight stood out as being the best option. The content is professional and consistent across the platform. The analytics data from a leadership perspective gives great insight into the interests and skills of the team. There are some great features available for following along with the classes as well. It's helped us upskill our team very effectively!
What do you dislike about the product?
Some. of the tests seem to test for knowledge outside the scope of the test itself and include things not in the training material. Tests can be retaken, so it is fine if it's seen as another learning tool, but can be pretty deflating to a developer.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our product was primarily PHP/monolithic and we wanted to move to Node.js and microservices. We had the buy-in from the team, but they needed the skills necessary to actually do the work. Pluralsight solved that for us. Our team quickly upskilled and jumped into a lot of new tech with minimal disruption.
Extensive Workforce Development Platform
What do you like best about the product?
The Skill IQs are invaluable as they identify strengths and weaknesses. The platform then recommends videos to bridge the knowledge gaps and help advance learners' skillsets. The platform analytics are extremely detailed and helpful.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would like the labs to be included in the license cost. Labs are a great feature to help the learner put into practice the skills they learned. It would be great to have all-in-one pricing for this feature.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are assisting in the advancement of learners' careers by giving them the tools to upskill/reskill to their next career. The vast selection of videos on the Pluralsight platform gives our learners options on different pathways to grow their careers.
Pluralsight - Tons of training
What do you like best about the product?
I love the variety of training - from languages to Cloud to soft skills. You can find all of that and more in one place!
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish there was even more - mainly videos about AWS services, especially as new services are announced and older services mature.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
When I want to learn more about a new technology or need to pick up something fast, I start with Pluralsight (and usually don't have to go any farther).
Pluralsight Skills add significant value
What do you like best about the product?
Pluralsight Skills are valuable in benchmarking progress in a subject area and help gauge learning effectiveness on the platform. It also helps drive areas of focus when looking for the next topic.
What do you dislike about the product?
While it is helpful for an individual, it has a ton of value when used in a department of peers. If everyone does not use the skill's features, it defeats the group value.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using Pluralsight Skills to gauge the effectiveness of our training paths for IT employees. We also use it to drive competition and a sense of togetherness in our learning journey.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Give it a shot. I have found that leaders who use Pluralsight skills have an easier time getting employees to use it.
Learning for opensource!

The courses are outdated. I expected to see more relevant classes. For Example, the Ruby on Rails classes are very dated.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Trying to get my technical teams trained in various areas. I've found that PluralSigt is ok for introducing topics to employees. Not great for in depth training.
